  1. Since this is the entry level stick I want to make it short and add some comments for upcoming sticks. Good concept, but in my opinion too few normal buttons. Add a pinky button and add a thumb button (or two?) I think a button left and right of the scroll wheel would be ergonomically reachable for the thumb. A button under each 4-way hat would also be at a good position. A Lever for the pinky finger would also be nice. Since you are not limited to make some kind of replica for a space sim stick I would suggest to add as many buttons, hats, analog sticks as possible (you can never have enough buttons, in the worst case just dont bind them) Those "more buttons" just need to be ergonomically reachable. The more options the better, I think. While I really like that you add a dedicated space sim stick I must confess I am a little dissappointed that you did not add more buttons to it. In my opinion there are so many places where you could easily add a few buttons to this stick. Just my opinion though! :)
  2. Its a little sad that you cannot change the handles in my opinion. I wonder why this had not been considered while this was the case for the stick? Not sure, but many people might want to buy extra handles which match the aircraft they prefer flying for the little extra realism. I know, then one might argue that you would also need to switch the "console" covers as well to match the left console of your favorite aircraft... But I guess you have to stop somewhere. ;) However, I think modular handles whould make sense since your hands will be there all the time. Currently, I am thinking how I possibly could use this throttle to make it work similarly as the warthog throttle for "maximum realism" in the A10. Problem for the warthog throttle is that it might be quite "unique" with the airbreak swich, the boat switch and the china hat (ok, this one could be handled by the 2 way switch at the bottom right side of the handle, but I dont see a possibility to mimic the boat switch and the airbreak switch "properly" with this throttle) In that case I would love to buy another pair of handles that are for the A10 (or insert any other aircraft here) Even if there are no imminent plans to offer extra throttle handles it might be a good idea to have this possibility in the future for this unit? Not sure how hard it would be to make a good modular system? Isnt the Warthog Throttle modular as well? - Besides the fact that no other handles were ever offered? Changing your plans to make your stick base plug and play with the Warthog Stick was a very good idea and was very well received within the community. I know its probably not an easy task, but how about making this throttle compatible with the Thrustmaster Warthog Handles? (if they are modular...)
  3. Looks nice! :) One question: since the handles are mentioned separately, will there be a possibility to change them in the future?
  4. ah that's sad, but Virpil will still get my money! :) Major selling points for me are the various additional products (like the desk mount) for a reasonable price and the Plug and Play Warthog compatibility! One suggestion for future development would be to include some kind of Trim to the a "next generation base" to make heli flyers totally happy as well! :)
  5. Thats very good news! :) But would it "stay in place" even with an extension? That would be great :)
  6. Have tried to gather all necessary information from several sites, but I still do not have a "good" overall picture, unfortunately. I will think a bit more about it, but I will probably wait until Virpil can ship from inside the EU (which is not too far away timewise if I remember correctly). There goes that 15% preorder bonus... *sob* :D
  7. Thanks finch, not sure if its always the same in Germany, I have also heard from people who had to drive to the location to grab their package and pay the fees there. (not sure if they had a choice) What I am a little concerned about is the opaque final price I might have to pay. Is it product price + Belarus VAT + German VAT + Shipping Costs + some other customs like fees That adds up a "little" as you can possibly imagine. Additionally it MAY also be a real hassle to finally get my hands on the package. Now here comes my little "knowledge" into play again: as far as I know a company could already charge the target country VAT during the normal billing process, indicate this appropriately and the package should arrive without further obstructions (not sure if this would be inside EU shipping only?). Again, take this assumption with a grain of salt... Edit: I just checked the site again and there is one line that seems to answer one of the questions: "Processing of the order (packing, customs clearance and dispatch) takes 10-14 working days." Ok thats already some good news I guess. So I wouldnt expect further obstructions and unforseeable price increases. :) Now I am still interested about the VAT calculations in the store.
  8. Hi, I am a little bit confused about the prices. From reading the forum posts here (following the thread since a looong time! :D ) those prices are without VAT? However, I expected that VAT gets added automatically when I select Germany (in my case) as Destination country similar like the shipping costs? While I would have no problems to add those 19% for myself to get the real prices, I think (and thats only half assed knowledge) it might make a difference when shipping to EU countries if VIRPIL does not charge VAT for themselves. I think the sender must provide the VAT value "somehow" for customs authorities otherwise toll (and probably some significant extra fees) gets applied severely slowing down shipment, increase the price by a large amount and possibly require myself to drive to the next toll location which in my case is a very long distance away. So long story short: What about the "expected" toll and / or VAT? Since Belarus is not in the EU I am not sure how this will be handled. I know that Virpil possibly cannot know all toll situations for all countries, but since they target the EU as a market I hope they have some information about this. Or can anyone else with more experience when ordering from outside the EU commet with his / her experience on this? As I said I only have very limited knowledge about this. Another question is about the Adress. Actually, I dont know what I should enter in the "Home" field. In Germany we need the City, Zip Code and the Street thats it. I must confess that I dont know what is expected under the "Home" field, but it's required.
  9. Hi, I have read the latest VPC status update mail and while some delays are absolutely expected there was a little bummer: The fact that I cannot pay via Paypal (at least for my current preorder) I tend to say that I may be out now since I am really a little reluctant to give away my credit card credentials to a startup company without any track record. I dont want to step on anyones toes, but having Paypal's buyers protection was making this investment a little easier for me. Dont get me wrong, I dont expect any difficulties, but having this extra layer of security made me sleep a little better... There are basically just two companies that have my credit card credentials. Thats Amazon and Paypal and I tend to keep it that way. :/ I really would like to know how others think about this. Am I overreacting on giving away my credit card credentials to a new startup company or are there people out there with similar opinions? I really want to support VPC since they have an attractive offering and I really hope they will have success making quality Flying Hardware. Again, this is absolutely no offense to VPC, nor I'm expecting any scam or what else, but I wouldnt give away my wallet to a complete stranger either! So really want to hear your opinions. If many people think like me it might be a good step to increase priority on making the paypal payment available even for the preorders. I wouldnt mind to wait with my preorder until I can pay it with paypal, and maybe even getting the base in one package saving some shipping costs. (basically what ram0506 suggested above)
  10. Just in case: I had this mail in my Gmail Spam Folder so you might want to check it in case you received nothing! ;)
  11. I am also thinking about getting the new Tobii Eye Tracker 4C, however I would be interested about the range. I have read from the specs that the range is about 90 cm. When using my flight chair with table mounted center HOTAS I am sitting about 160cm (!) away from my 3 27inch monitors so I guess this would not work. Now I thought about this possibility: couldn't I just place the Tracker Bar on the front side of my table? (so basically in the middle between my monitor and myself) I know the usual setup would be below my monitor, but I think you must calibrate it before use. If I place it on the table and I calibrate it could this work? Could anyone try? And could anyone try if at least head tracking works on a longer distance? (for DCS it might replace my trackIR in case it would work, tired of wearing a cap...) Thanks for any input on this! :)
  12. I added a track taking off. I did not touch anything besides my throttle at the beginning. You will also notice that the controls indicator shows everything perfectly centered. Nevertheless there is heavy left drag! :( Takeoff_leftdrag.trk
  13. https://goo.gl/photos/LYe9PZJnDe4Zncex5 This is my game controller properties panel for the Crosswinds when I dont touch anything... However, it works without any flaw in most other games and also in DCS... Even with the Mirage in Flight everything works as expected, I dont have any drag to the left side and can also steer normally on the ground. However when taking off my Mirage starts to drag left after I reach like 70 knots. Exactly as some people were saying in this thread some month ago. As I said I need to take care not to crush my front wheel when taking off. I usually manage it by rotating as soon as I can so the front wheel does not touch the ground anymore. The drag is so much that I cannot imagine that this is intended! :(
  14. One thing that I would be interested in: does anyone who also has the "turn left" issue maybe have the MFG Crosswinds? I do and I have made the following observation (not DCS related). In the game Parkitect I need to disable my MFG Crosswinds, otherwise I always had a "scrolling issue" it always scrolled up in some menus that have to top --> bottom slider. Disabling the Crosswinds via command did fix this issue. It is really strange because in basically any other game I dont have this issue, only in Parkitect. If I remember correctly I started the normal windows game controller properties and it seems that the Crosswinds seem to have their "center position" somehow in the top left. So I cannot explain it, I just know the following: disabling the MFG Crosswinds in Parkitect solves the "scrolling up" issue. Other games (including other planes in DCS) run fine (for whatever reason) So I am thinking if this "left pulling issue" MIGHT be related to the MFG Crosswinds? So just in case you have this issue, please tell me if you have the MFG Crosswinds! :) I could go into more details, but first I want to know if I might be on the right track!
  15. Hi, I always had heavy pull to the left in the instant takeoff mission (and also on the cold start mission - at least) in 2.0x. (never had a problem in 1.5.x). I have seen in this thread, that some fix was applied like 3 or 4 month ago, but it also seems that it did not fix it for everyone. With 2.05 I came back and tried again, hoping that the issue was fixed, but it seems still there! :/ I wonder it became so calm about this topic since this is a very annoying issue. I dont think it is a loadout or wind issue. I even have to take care to not kill my front wheel when taking of. I cannot believe that this is "normal" behavior. So I am really interested if this is considered to be fixed or not? Maybe its a regression because I definitly have this issue (again? - did not fly NTTR for a few month) What's your experience with it lately?
  16. Thanks, downloaded and applied! :)
  17. A perfect Throttle should also have interchangable handle grips to change them according to the aircraft your flying. (same like your stick) I really like the number of buttons / hats + the wheel on the Throttle btw. Both parts of the handles should be optionally connected. (similar to the Warthog throttle. This locking mechanism is simple and works great) As some others said, afterburner detend would be great and "pullable" handles like the warthog throttle for the engine startup. This is probably not used in many aircrafts, but the more options in one throttle the better! :) Ah and I forgot to add modular parts for the "surface" with different button / switches layouts (just dreaming ;) ) and the same or very similar size as the Warthog Throttle so it can be mounted on the same surfaces.
  18. @Paveway not 100 % sure, but I think that the OB version and the Stable version are currently exactly the same. You are just on the OB branch now, which means that you will see the update tomorrow while you wouldnt see it if you are on the stable branch. Right now I would assume that everything is fine.
  19. Great! Thanks so much for the reply! :)
  20. One question about the upcoming Stick base: did you consider "easy swapping" to different Virpil grips (once others are available in the future) I think the TMW base is rather uncomfortable when swapping Grips and it is not really possible "one the fly" (litterally... :D ) Would be great to hear if you considered modularity of your base / grips.
  21. Hi, I'm currently learning the M2000C and I am missing some simple keybinds for several dial knobs like the INS Mode selector. Currently, it is only possible to map the different positions with a lot of button combinations. (or do I miss something?) I'd suggest to make two Keybinds like "turn INS Mode selector dial switch left" and "turn INS Mode selector dials switch right". Not sure about you guys but I think it is much easier to bind two different buttons and just hit it a couple of times until it reached the appropriate position. Pretty much like its now working when it is clicked with the left or right mouse button. The A10C has such a "feature" and since there are MANY buttons to map it would make things much easier in my opinion.
  23. Hi, I'm interested in getting a Tablemount for my Warthog setup. However I wonder if there are some plans to offer a "longer" version of the mounting kit. So I can actually mount my Warthog a little deeper. I am using a 10 cm extension and I think I read on the website that it can be adjusted approx 22cm in height. A Warthog with 10cm extension has a height of 40 cm which would end up having the stick at a very uncomfortable height. aaron886 has posted a picture with some creative reconstruction showing what I mean. However even using his method, the Stick would be too high. Assuming that those parts are standard and "just" cut to the right length (I assume) would it be possible to order it like 10 cm longer? So I could mount the Stick at a better height for my sitting position? Would if become unstable if the length would be longer?
  24. I would also prefer SP for a story driven campaign. However, I think BalticDragon's approacht to make a MP version of some campaign missions was very good. Not too much extra efford (I guess) but best for both sides.
  25. Also try "easy controls" in the special options it seems to make the controls less sensitive.
