  2. Did you enable any mods? Try disabling them just to try. Currently the only mod I have active is a FOV change for the Mirage to 125 (I have triple monitors). Its a simple one line change, but once I have it active the M2000C vanishes from DCS. The same happens, when I simply edit the original views file so it cannot be some "accidently copied files". If I edit the FOV back to 140 all is fine... very strange.
  4. I'd recommend this one: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=159647 recently bought it and I am very happy!
  5. Only had time to fly one instant mission with FOV 140 for 25 minutes for now, but looks very promising! :) No hard freezes, only three or four soft ones, each like 1 or 2 seconds. Before that the mission crashed max 5 mins into it... Thanks ED!
  6. My suggestion would be to get the extension directly from virpil since you want to upgrade in the near future. It is a bit cheaper, look a bit better and are of very good quality. (Not saying the the MFG ones are bad, I dont have one) However only real advantage of the virpil ones is the price and the nebulous advantage that you get the base and the extension from the same manufacturer which may result in a tiny bit better fit (basically to avoid what cichlidfan said)
  7. Hi, I want to break down the "no internet situation" into two simplified cases: Warning: the chance percentage is really made up by myself. Everybody may disagree or think about different percentages for himself. 1. internet down because of unforseeable situation (80% of all cases) 2. internet down because of "other reasons" (20% of all cases) Again, I just made up those numbers, and I for myself think they might more or less reflect reality. The Offline Mode can just help in case 2, but this only tackles those immaginary 20% while still leaving the problem for the other 80% unsolved. Not sure if this point of view is too simple, but without more insight this seems reasonable to me. I personally dont understand why this 3 days period isnt extended to like 10, 15 or even 30 days. This would solve most of the issues people raise here. Of course if someone hasnt played for 30 days and wants to play on day 31 while internet is down will still leave him in this situation. As I said in my other post before, you cannot cover all situations, but it is much more likely that everyone plays more or less at least once a month instead of every 3 days. If the revalidatino persiod is expanded by "many" days, players probably would almost never run into this problem again. ED will probably not explain their reasons as such things are usually not discussed with the public and thats fine. I dont expect them to justify their reasons. I just want to add my opinion and want to express that, without insight, I dont see much sense in this tight 3 days grace period. If someone cracks DCS, he could play it for 3 days until it revalidates again. Even if this person could play it for 10, 15 or even 30 days without revalidation I am not sure if this would mean such a financial loss to ED. Their product would still be protected with the longer validation period, but we as the paying customer would have less of a burden to handle it (while I must confess at least for me personally its not a big issue) Think of Witcher 3 which was released on GOG without any DRM and sold like hotcakes.
  8. Hmm, also not the biggest fan of the offline mode if I understand it correctly how its working. Real story: like 3 month ago my ISP had an outage for like 5 hours starting almost exactly at the end of my working day. Since I did not play for the last few days (more than 3 ) I actually had to revalidate my modules which was not possible due to my ISPs outage. Actually I thought that offline mode would be the "fix" for such issues, but now it seems that it is not since I would need an internet connection to start going offline which is a bit disappointing. Obviously I cant foresee my ISPs outages to go offline before... ;) Dont get me wrong there might always be a situation which cannot be covered, but having a short time ISP outage does not seem that unlikely, I guess. Its not the end of the world, but it's still sad if you cannot play something you paid for due to copy protection even if its a relatively short timeframe. (Which is not only a DCS issue, I know...)
  9. Unfortunately, the latest patch 2.5.1 Open Beta which indicated some freeze fixes for FOV140 did not work for me... Still freezing! :(
  10. As far as I know (and I am quite sure) it has the same dimensions. It was mentioned somewhere, but I dont know the exact source anymore... :/
  12. Does anyone know if the preorder phase will more or less last until May 20th? I'm rdy to pull the trigger, but the cosmo cams are currently out of stock in the EU store, so I want to wait (if possible) until they are available and can be added to my cart. Dont want to pay extra shipping for such a small item.
  13. you need to go to the game controller windows options. You should see your four MFD's there. You can edit the properties and rename them with a drop down menu to MFD 3 and MFD 4 (I also have more than two)
  14. Well this is only for triple screen users. I'm sorry that you had a black screen, but this is "expected" since the screen boundarys do not match your existing setup. Unfortunately it seems that you have a different freeze issue. :( The fix I posted did help me and from further investigation it seems that quite a few triple screen users could fix their freezes with reducing the FOV to ~120. However, if you have a triple screen setup, FOV 120 on triple screen feels life looking through a mail slot... :( With the changes to the camera.lua file it is possible to sqeeze everything together and have normal vertical FOV again using at least some benefit of the enhance FOV when using triple screen. I play this way and can enjoy DCS. :)
  15. For all who tried a lot, but its still freezing. Check my post here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=201601 Maybe this workaround will help you a bit and you can at least enjoy DCS again.
  16. Can anyone post some pictures how he has connected his UTC using cable ties? I am not using a headset and I am thinking about using some Baseball Cap or maybe a GoPro Headmount. Therefor I think I will need cable ties to make a stable connection. Not sure how to attach the cable ties to the UTC unit. I would need some ideas... ;)
  17. I'd suggest to try this in the Win Gamecontroller properties. In case you see the buttons lit as expected on screen it is a binding issue in DCS. If it also behaves wonky in the Win Gamecontroller Settings you probably have some issue with your hardware. Since DCS give the default bindings to new devices, this results in some double bindings, that somehow interfere with each other. It's rather annoying... In that case look at the device list in DCS and remove all unwanted bindings.
  18. Since its on the NTTR Map I am not sure if 2.5 has any impact! :) Can't wait... :joystick:
  19. There are two different screens. However, if you have it on your head you dont notice it. It looks like one screen. Dont worry!
  20. Fortunately I found the reason and it was rather simple. In case someone stumbles over this some time in the future: It seems that I have a new device in DCS: Headtracker which is rather new. I dont know where it comes from but I guess it may be some new or rather new default from DCS. It was also default mapped which I deleted. Now I only have TrackIR mapped for the headtracking and now pausing lets me stay where I looked at! I guess once TrackIR is paused and gives no signal , the "headtracker" takes over (which is not present) and since it gives no input it shows the default view until TrackIR signals are received, when its unpaused.
  21. Sorry dont really want to bump this, but isnt there anyone who can tell me how pause and TrackIR is working for him? Maybe my question was not clear due to language difficulties so in a nuthshell I would really like to know basically 2 - 3 things. 1. Which TrackIR Software are you running? (I use 5.4.2 which is the latest) 2. In the Cockpit, you look left for example and pause trackIR, what does happen? Does it stay there or does the view reset to the center after like 0,5 seconds? (like for me since a few weeks) 3. Whatever happens for question 2, did it change some time ago and is it the intended behavior you are expecting? It may sound like a very simple question, but the problem is that I just need to find some point to start my research at. Unfortunately, google does not give too many answers on this. Only some people with the same issue, but not necessarily for DCS. Right now I dont even know if this may be intended behavior for DCS. In case DCS now handles this differently I can at least stop looking for errors for my setup. So please some people just take the few seconds to answer those 3 questions above. That will possibly help me a lot! Thank you!
  22. I have the same problem since a few weeks (not sure if it was related to the newest driver software 5.4.2) Before I had a driver like 2 years old which worked fine. In Elite Dangerous it was always the same behavior so it returned to center when tracking was paused, which I found quite handy for this game. However in DCS where you have your buttons and switiches on the right and left console it was nice to have the possibility to pause it and click some buttons in an uncomfortable viewing position... I would be interested if this change is intended or if its some kind of a bug. So can anyone confirm he/she is using the latest driver 5.4.2 and can pause the view in DCS2.5 and it stays there?
  23. Hi, like two weeks ago I did a reinstall of Win10. With this I also installed the latest TrackIR Software. The version on my old installation was like 2 years old, but worked without any problem so I did not update it. However, right now I am facing the problem that my view resets if I pause my TrackIR which is unfortunate and was not the case at least "some time ago". I always found it usefull to be able to set my view and pause it to keep if for some seconds. Its also helpful to select some switches when looking at an uncomfortable position. I dont even know if this new behavior is the result of the new TrackIR software, a bug or maybe even an intended change by ED. Maybe I even just didnt notice, yet (did not fly much in the last weeks) . I just can say that I started noticing it around the reinstall which may be pure coincidence. I can just say that it was also present in the last days of DCS 2.2. Which I also played under my new install. So my question is: How does it work for you? If you pause your view, does it stay where you looked at or does it reset? Does anyone of you have a solution how to reinstate this behavior? Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
  24. Not 100% sure, but I think SLI does not work for VR (yet?) Also I wouldn't recommend SLI to anyone except he knows EXACTLY what he's doing! It is not supported by all games and is a hassle to get to work sometimes. Take the price of the second card and buy a better single card. You will be better off in 98% of all cases.
  25. I think depends on the price you would get a 980Ti for and whats your intentions. For normal (non VR) DCS its good enough for triple screen. I even enjoy VR in it sometimes. However, I think DCS is not ready vor VR primetime, yet and there are many issues to be resolved. Some weeks ago I was looking at the the price for a 980Ti and it was still 600 € while a 1080Ti was "only" 200 € more for like 50 % more GPU power... However, prices are pretty crazy currently so not sure how this is at this very moment. I would also suggest to get a 1070 instead of a 980Ti (it has the same power but is most likely cheaper)
