  1. awesome, thank you :D
  2. sorry for asking, but will it be released for 1.5, or do i need to DL DCS 2.0?
  3. Very nice Zeus, Looking forward to the Beta.
  4. Looking forward to it....
  5. Since the 2000C IIRC never used the F, i'd say its in the reasonable line of expectations that it will have the D on release :)
  6. You link a contract of a Lot 11...... which has no bearing on the discussion at it links up nicely with what i stated earlier..... that the USN is buying 4 F-35Cs. Not your point that Said USN is buying increased numbers of B's, which isn't supported by any of that link. and you failed to prove your point. Although i will admit i should have clarified we are talking total frames here, not initial production.
  7. No. The reason why Canada is shafting the F-35 in its current form. - The Harper government fudged the numbers (it used the costs for a 20 year lifespan instead of the 36 year lifespan) - The Staggeringly big discrepancy between what Lockheed says, and what the DoD reports to congress. (Lockheed: Flight Testing is on track. DoD Report: Lockheed has Deferred 20% of scheduled flight tests and new features to the next bloc.) - Questions of weather the F-35's abilities are worth the cost - operational considerations. - alleged bribery by Lockheed.
  8. ehm no? the USN scaled back the Buy, the USMC did not up their Buy. Or if they did, there is no mention of it in Congress reports..... So, the amount of F-35's that will be bought in Total has gone down...
  9. You fail to grasp the Point.. Ask A marine if he considers himself to be part of the navy.... the USN might be responsible for the procurement, but they don't make the decisions of said procurement. In other words, while the receipt might say that the USN buys them, the reality is that the whole procurement, its numbers etc are done by the USMC. Saying the USN is buying F-35Bs is factually incorrect, as is it to lump the USMC buy with the USN buy.....
  10. The USMC has its own procurement programme, and its own policies. I am talking about the purchase which is done by the USN proper. Which currently only has 4 F-35's. (initially they bought 2 Congress doubled it for some dark reason) And i feel obligated to mention that the USN isn't even planning to use in the Strike role, but as an overly expensive Recon asset, which will detect Targets so the F18 can destroy it. - Naval Future vision, 2014
  11. Personally wait. the USN is replacing their F18's in 15 years or so with the VFXX programme. If Canada is smart they wait for that, and see what rolls out of it. Since it will be far less of a Schizophrenic aircraft then the F-35, and will be cheaper as well, (most likely) The USN for that matter, seems to be hedging their bets. They have only 4 F-35's and have scaled back their buy from 280 to 200, with talk of scrapping the buy all together.
  12. Yep, same thoughts here.........
  13. Went through those for the most part already. sitting 7 hours a week in a train means i have plenty of time to do my reading :)
  14. Ah shame, i was looking forward to some detailed reading material... Oh well,
  15. Can be leave the toxic fanboying to some other thread and go back to discussing the Technical specifications please? Does anybody happen to know anything on the ECM resistance of the Radar and the general quality of ECM on the Mirage?
  16. Personally i'd like to see the following - Mig 23 (preferably a lateish version) - Mig 25PD - J8-II - JH-7 - MIg 31 For the West - F4 Phantom - Tornado ADV - Jaguar - Kfir - F16C would be a safe bet - F-105
  17. eh, against the Mig 21 the little amount of flares shouldn't be too much of a problem due to the restrictiveness of the 21's radar. IMHO as long as the 2000 can keep on rolling (assuming it can outroll the 21, which i think it can) it can easily dodge the Lock on. And i think this trick will work against the F-15 to a certain extend. The problem however, is the formidable HMD on the Russian jets, which makes rolling to dodge a lockon significantly harder, and as such, makes it riskier due to the low amount of flares.
  18. I'd welcome that. the first 99 times you get shot down. the 100th time, you know their tricks, and then its their turn :) Besides, meeting better pilots is what makes it interesting
  19. this would be very interesting indeed :)
  20. 4. 2 outside pylons hold Magic II's, the 2 inner wing pylons hold the Matra Super 530D. which is something roughly the equivalent of an Aim 7.
  21. it will have the 9 hardpoints, but only 4 are cleared for A2A ordinance..

    M2000 vs Mig-21

assuming a head on scenario, Mirage will detect the 21 first, will move into an position from where it has the advantage, and begin lobbing BVR missiles at it. now the MIg needs to start dodging a missile of which it has no clue except its coming in. (RWR is very shitty on the Mig), making dodging a lot harder as the pilot cannot guess the relative distance. so, assuming the Mig manages to survive the BVR component, it isn't getting better from there. the Mirage 2000 has the edge in flight parameters, close in equipment, and better view from the cockpit. and even worse for the Mig, the Mirage is a nimble jets, which nullifies its greatest advantage against the F15, that it does will in a close in fight, against hte Mirage you don't have that luxery. we are talking here an aircraft that is capable to pull higher alpha and sustained AoA then the Mig 21..... combined with all aspect IR missiles leaves the Mig 21 pretty much at the mercy of the Mirage without it can really do anything against it. So in short, you'd get smashed pretty much 9 of out of 10 times by a Mirage driver assuming he knows what he is doing.
  23. IIRC the devs stated that they would add the ARMAT antiradiation missile along with the Excocet as well. However, those were not stated in the pre purchase content list, so those are still unsure.
  24. I have preordered it as well :) looking forward to it
  25. well, i checked it on the DCS Store page. there its DCS: Mirage 2000C
