  1. I'd say 4, and add Marche=On Arret=off Also, while I figured out Gauche and Droit years ago, along the way I mixed them up and literally didn't know my (French) left from my right
  2. Tripped me up for several attempts at the start-up training. Also felt inconsistent until I figures it out, because making a start from ramp mission must have set it in the OFF position, and the process from the tutorial worked fine there.
  3. I'm using a X55 HOTAS, and would love to use the switches on the throttle base for various radar settings. One that I haven't found, that I would love to have is radar mode selector (off-preheat-quiet-on),which would work if we had binds that simply stepped the switch CW/CCW. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be one. Did find the two that control the search pattern (named 4 else 2 bar and 1 else 2 bar). I haven't tested it yet, but I'm assuming it will allow a single up/down toggle to switch between all three patterns. Understand we can't have every specific HOTAS and other controls catered to individually, but it would be nice if mine was :D
  4. Anyone else who has a desire for an Alouette III, especially a Rhodesian K-car Something about that sideways 20mm that fascinates me.
  5. Next release dates? I'm sure there are threads for this, and that this is the umpteenth repost, but I havent seen it. I might be spoiled, as i got into DCS fairly recently and a bunch of new modules got released in quick succession. While we have some anouncements for future modules like the F14, there seem to be stuff much closer to release we know much less about. So what are the actual next aircraft, and when can we expect them?
  6. Hammerfall 3 i did on the first attempt this time around. Once you figure it out, it's not that bad. But learning seems to involve Strelas to the face a few times. Just finished the training mission with the F16's, and so far i'm really enjoying it. Don't know what the protocol for spoilers are, but i finished it with a very nice gun run, if i say so myself (which, to me, means i sprayed 2-3-400 rounds at the target and by sheer luck managed to hit it) Tacview even tells me i hit one of the T55s with the one M156 WP i fired. And something weird happened to one of the F16s as he was circling for a bit just off the coast near the airbase and then ejected.
  7. I'd say its where the men are separated from the boys, the intelligent from the less so and those who can adapt and overcome will prevail while the ragequitters will rage and quit. Managing navigating the mountaintops just below, or in, the clouds, getting the TGP out of terrain masking and locating the target, avoiding SAMs etc requires a lot, at least for me who's had the A10 for barely a week. Once I get back to it at least I've got the strategy down. It is very well made, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Even the frustrating ones. And I'm looking forward to actually not get shot down or CFITing on hammerfall 3.
  8. I had a crash yesterday, got a promotion popup after i exited the mission (Hammerfall 3) and clicking it away crashed DCS. Today my campaign had reset. Not a massive loss since i wasn't that far in, and i can do all the missions before much better now :D
  9. How the hell am i supposed to hit the enemy when the cloud cover is so low that if i break out of it to get a look at the buildings etc, i get insta-zapped bu MANPADS and ZSU? Is it just me who's not goof enough?
  10. the GPU side is somewhat concerning, don't know my current frames but when people are talking about 75+ fps to make it run smooth, i don't know if i've ever had a computer capable of running a game at 75 fps, not a recent one anyway. Worst case scenario, throwing money at the Oculus Rift people on release will be akin to lighting it on fire, much better to simply wait patiently to see if it works and if people experience everything from eye pain and nausea to strokes or Sudden And Unexpected Combustion™® of the face, or it turns out to be a CIA\Evil Corporation\Bond villain (insert your tin-foil flavor as appropriate) conspiracy to brainwash a large group of people at once.
  11. probably been covered in the last ~400 pages, but reading it all would take for ever. One youtuber who tested DCS A10C with DK2 stated that the resolution was to low to comfortably read dials and HUD, is this something that will be resolved for commercial release? I REALLY want to fly with a Oculus, just the descriptions of the feeling of actually sitting in a cockpit would be worth it. But i imagine it will have to wait untill the pricepoint of the Oculus + hardware comes down, which hopefully will be around the time i need a new computer anyways.
  12. works excellently for me. Had issues with the X55\HUD software, but once i got a powered USB hub all i had to do was find a profile, load it up, and all worked fine.
  13. whatever was wrong, a powered USB hub seems to have fixed it. I also used a profile made by Shein (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=120911&highlight=shein) and it works flawlessly so far.
  14. posted my problems in another X55 thread just now, but i just bought the A10C module. The Mad Catz HUD program died on me shortly after i got it in January, and i simply ignored it for the Mig 21 and P51 modules i had. But i figured i'd need it for the A10C so i could set keybinds to HATs etc. Un- and Reinstalled drivers and HUD software, got it seemingly working. Found a A10C profile, got that loaded up in the HUD software and now, if i even enter the Throttle under Programming my computer reboots. Don't know or understand whats happening, and you should test to see what happens to your system, but using profiles in the HUD software, for me at least, seems quite broken. It might be power-drain causing voltages to drop, and the PC to reboot to protect itself, but i really don't know. I'll get a powered USB HUB to test.
  15. I officially hate the fookers at Saitek\Mad Catz I've had the x55 since early January. First played a bit of Elite Dangerous before i tried DCS world and the free, clickable P51. That sold me on this, and i bought the P51 and Mig 21 modules. The HUD software was a nightmare, and it quickly stopped working, so i ignored it untill now. A10C was on offer on steam, so i forked over my limited dosh and set down to learn A10. Figured i'd need the HUD software due to all the controls of the A10, so i managed to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and HUD so i could use existing profiles and map out a lot of key-binds-as-HATs to make the X55 perform better. Now for the surprise. The moment i load a profile into the HUD software and try to even test the throttle, my computer reboots. I still havent got anything to work in DCS with the A10, and i'm pissed at Saitek. Is this power drain from the HOTAS making my computer shut down, or is there some other issue at hand? Any tips? Anyone know someone who can visit Saitek main office with a baseball bat and bust some knees so i can feel better?
