  1. I had the G940 and used it for many years. Its a great stick considering you get a rudder pedal as well, which makes it the best value for money HOTAS + rudder you can get. I find the FFB very useful on older generation planes, specially DCS warbirds and the Huey. Not so much on fly-by-wire ones. Downside of the G940 is that it is not very precise, specially on the throttle and rudder controls. Since I fly mostly the A10C, I made a jump to Warthog + MFG Crosswind. Never looked back since then. There are time to time I missed the FFB, but I can trade it off anytime with the precision from this setup. Maybe I can add a Buttkicker or some sort of 3rd party FFB later on.
  2. I remember how much I liked this mission when I played the free version in DCS1.2. Can't wait to get my new sim setup and fly the new paid version and 1.5/2.0. :) What I did is ensure my baro altimeter is set up correctly and then note down the peak heights around that valley, I think it was 9,800ft or around there. Then set altitude warning at cloud base +200ft. . Set autopilot to level hold and fly a pattern left hand turn just avoiding the peak INSIDE the cloud. I was able to get about 10-15sec window of TGP penetration through the clouds flying this pattern. Once confirmed location of the SA-9, fly out and make a South - North approach from the valley entrance and drop a CBU97 (or JDAM), hope for the best. I once also tried loading the plane very light, 2 pods of rocket, light fuel and nothing else. Poped out from the hills and killed that SA-9 with guns before it fired. Worked but took many tries. :megalol:
  3. If you have "easy communication" unticked, that means you have to dial in the frequency of each station manually when you want to communicate with them. To 'dial' in ground crew, you need to switch to INT from VHF from your intercom panel and press the hot mic button, or use \ and F8
  4. I flew the mission, I eventually see the horizon glow orange at around 8:00AM when I landed. Is this what suppose to happen or it has been a delay?
  5. I've restarted the UH-1H campaign and in the "Hauling Trash" mission, which supposed to take off at 7:10AM on 8/10/2011. The mission loaded and I'm in total darkness. There is no sign of sunlight at all, it looks like it is midnight. It seems a bit strange as 7:10am on an autumn morning should have sunlight already? Also, I did notice the landing and search lights does not light up the landing pads placed outside the airport. It works around the airport but as soon as you move the spotlight into the FARP area, it simply disappears.
  6. Serial #: 0961 Location: Sydney, Australia
  7. Sold. :)
  8. I have my G940 setup for sale, located in Sydney Australia. A great kit considering that it comes with rudder pedals too, and force feedback (not much out there has this). Selling because I'm now on the TM Warthog and MFG Crosswind :music_whistling: It is in great working condition. I think I will miss the force feedback of this joystick. :( Preferred to be picked up in Sydney, but I can post it to you if you're keen. Asking for $200 AUD.
  9. Order confirmed : 2 Jul Order almost ready: 11 Sep Order shipped: 9 Oct Estimated delivery date within 7 days of shipping I assume. :) I remember reading somewhere, S/N # 1000+ will be much quicker in production turnaround. The longest waiting period is people who ordered around March - July this year. Mine is S/N#961. Hope this helps.
  10. Should I move out of Steam? I have been using Steam mainly for my DCS World since the early days of the A10C standalone version. I still use Steam to manage my DCS World package (and buy modules from Steam) because it is very easy to do so and I can keep all my games in one central portal. I'm wondering if there is any advantages to move DCS World out of Steam and use ED's own application to run DCS World from? In anticipation for 1.5 and 2.0 releases. - Will updates (DCS 1.5 and 2.0) be released the same time both on ED and Steam? - How do I migrate purchased modules from Steam to DCS? - Can ED software automatically update DCS and its modules without having to launch DCS first? I like how Steam runs when Windows loads and I can just leave it there to do its business with keeping all my games up to date.
  11. I just received my invoice from Milan, paid his due for the hard work and skills. Now the waiting begins (again). It will have to travel a long way from Europe to Australia. Hope it arrives in good shape :)
  12. A simple cloth manual gear lever cover for cars will work too. Can get one delivered for few dollars from eBay.
  13. Thanks BIGNEWY, I thought I was doing something wrong with flying the hawg. Glad to know it is a known bug. Takes away the fun when you're just in a sim anyway. Doesn't hurt anything or anyone to blow some stuff up. :smilewink: Just in times where you just want to keep shooting without having to fly back and land
  14. I'm doing some target practice runs with unlimited ammo turned on. And plenty of ground targets. My loadout has 4x AMG65D, once I fired the 4th missile, MAV page on the MFCD shows 'No Maverick'. I tried reloading DSMS file on the MFCD and nothing. MSL EO Power on the maverick is 'Off' and it will not turn on regardless. Even though DSMS shows all 4 mavericks are loaded again. What can I do to 'reload' the mavericks while in the air?
  15. ^ That... You probably have some conflicting axis assignment. Go into control options and select A10C Sim commands, go into Axis assignments, clear everything assigned to your pitch, roll, rudder and left/right throttle and start again. Should only take about 2-3 minutes to do so.
  16. Hi, There are 7 _init.lua files in the Hleios profile provided. Where should I put these files? I think I got the MFCDs working, but the remaining viewport export are not showing yet. I believe these init.lua files are the ones to make them work? Thanks!
  17. Spot on. I copied the changes that Helios made to the export.lua file into the export.lua file in the above directory. All is working fine now! Thanks!:thumbup:
  18. Hi All, I'm new to this forum and DCS world. I have been reading a lot in this forum and oh it has a lot to learn. I've slowly starting to build my own sim setup. DCS A10C mainly as I have been flying that most of the time. I am currently trying out Helios to interface clickable MDF buttons on the 2nd screen. I can't seem to get Helios to connect to DCS. I have set up the interface to add DCS A10 to Helios, pointed the DCS A10 folder to the DCS World install folder I have: ..\Program Files\Steam\common\apps\DCS World I am running Steam version of DCS, so I can keep all games I have in one centralised package. I have tried running the profile editor in admin mode, still no luck. Is there something I'm missing?
