This is possible if you export the Shkval viewport to a position on any monitor and then use Fastone Capture (with this you can capture a user defined area of the screen) to save the video. Example...

A squad mate happened to mention that on a training mission around Novorossiyk he was getting bad FPS around the airfield. I presumed too many objects 'n stuff and so moved the helos away from the this and hot started them on grass clear of objects. FPS was rubbish and I think my PC is fairly fast. Example, pre-sets on HIGH, hot ground start on grass near Novorossiyk returns 30 - 40 FPS at start up. Hot start ramp at Novorossiyk airfield returns 200 FPS at startup. No mods... Nevada low flight through Las Vegas gives around 90 FPS but a grass field in 1.54 gives 30 - 40 LOL... It appears to be the grass with fancy flowers is dropping FPS badly. Hopefully this is just a transition thing... :) :) Windows 10 ASUS® Z170 PRO GAMING i7-6700 OC 4600+ 16GB HyperX FURY DDR4 2666MH ASUS 980ti OC to max SSD Outputting into 1920 X 1080 hd. Nice... If you want a JSGME Mod http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2882896#post2882896 -
Here you go.... Simple JSGME compatible MOD to display Gazelle TV Viewport here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7FaeRwacSmPc09qWnJZY0pIM2s/view?usp=sharing My Monitor setup file includes... --GazelleTV GazelleTV = { x = 4; y = 1081; width = 1000; height = 800; } Viewport 5/4 ratio works okay if you want to resize.... Screenshots for 2 vertical monitors each 1920 x 1080... and the kneeboard positions been re-aaranged... Might be of use to some.... Works just fine with the L or M (Sagem / Nadir)

Sounds about right to my ears, but volume of the squelch effects related to the volume of the audio voice will be the key regarding irritability as some have mentioned. I'm sure you listened to some of the Huey mission Vietnam radio chatter or the US carrier ops chatter on YouTube - they give a good example of squelch breaks in RF. The more modern the radio I've found the auto squelch circuitry is better and a simple mic click is audible as just a click. The older ones you get a lot more RF noise before that is clipped off, just as in your example. modern radios... received on a scanner I believe...

Hi Nu-NRG, as far as I can see all the above would be correct and expected at this stage of SR development but then of course I'm not Cb... A <> B should be in comms. LOS is taken from a point above the aircraft to simulate terrain bending. The barriers between the aircraft may not be seen as 'terrain'. So A <> B Comms is good. A <> C comms are terrain masked as you clearly marked and then you get COMMS when unmasked, again as expected with LOS calculations. How Cb's calculations mimic RL is another issue. Looking at the image for A <> C when masked and very roughly comparing to RL and minimal antenna gain if any, VHF probably would get through okay but UHF could may well not. But of course freq and modulation are not truly in the mix yet.

DCS updated to DCS 1.5.4.55952.150 this morning.. Gazelle L or M no panel lights on switch engagement. UV lighting fine.... Ran repair still the same... Is it just my end or an introduced issue? Edit: Seems generic http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2879120&postcount=169

I think you have it absolutely spot on for the moment Cb. Later you may wish to consider free space propagation methods in some bands but at the moment LOS is great. Or if you are really, really bored, work out how to pop in the export.lua a method of measuring rain drop size distribution and spatial structure of the rain field used in DCS bad weather simulations and model the effect on attenuation and fade...:music_whistling:

In DCS settings, set to Lat Long Decimal OR if you prefer to have a different default then you can in the DCS F10 map, use 'ALT + S' which will rotate through all available formats of the displayed mouse pointer. Move your mouse a little to see the change each time you hit 'ALT + S'. End up with Lat Long Decimal. As well as normal methods of putting markers and waypoints into the Abris map you can also place a marker directly in from a lat long dec position, say taken from your F10 map using the mouse pointer. Take a note of the position(s), punch it (them) into the PVI800 as a NAV/TGT point. Go to operational mode, select NAV/TGT and the number, say 1, and that will now show on your ABRIS. If you had another on 2, that will not show until you select 2..... The ABRIS will only show 1 NAV/TGT point at a time.

Thanks CB... I'll try and gather up some folks and give it try coming back to you at the end of the weekend..

There is no DCS modelled volume control for VHF2, volume control for VHF1 though.. reality I do not know but find it hard to believe the VHF2 audio is at a fixed volume. Its the ability to differentiate by volume dependent on net traffic that's missing in DCS. If ATC is on VHF2 your stuck with that volume, sure drop volume on VHF1 but not the other way around... If it is assign it to the same control as VHF1 presumably this would just give you an overall control of VHF 1 & 2 which is available in Windows OS anyway.. Thanks for coming back.... maybe something in the future may present its self...

Hi CiriBob... A low grade request: Is it possible to have a volume control on the Ka-50 VHF2 R-800l1 Radio.... DCS Ka-50 only have a volume control for the VHF-1 R-828. Strange I know but a pain when both are in use.... with ?R plugged to TS a workaround can be made by increasing the TS audio volume of individuals on VHF-2 and deceasing the overall windows volume to get the right balance but with SR standalone this is not possible.... In real life if the Ka-50 does not have a volume for VHF-2 I would soon have the crew chief stick in an in-line pot to the relative feed.... Incidentally SR is as stable a rock now.... Good luck...

In the SR control panel, turn off 'Radio Switch works as PTT' and you will be good if you wish to use another binding for PTT... This image shows Huey setup relying on DCS Huey bindings (or Keyboard bindings) for PTT and Intercom rotary...... In RL Hueys have 2 pilots, DCS has 1. Can be a handful speaking, selecting radios, changing freq and flying formation.... The autopilot can help you out here if needed especially at the beginning... map AP & AP modes (straight & level, attitude & orbit) will again make things a little easier. If you have a TMWH or a handy spare HAT switch or similar you can combine the PTT and Intercom selection into one button push. The settings in this image will allow the TMWH right throttle radio hat to do this. Push forward and hold will switch the Intercom rotary to the FM radio and push the PTT for as long as the HAT switch is pressed. Likewise, push down and hold and you are speaking on UHF, pull back and hold and you're transmitting on AM....

In its current version, SR will work on the UH-1h DCS bindings… I.e. In game, in a Huey, turning the rotary mode 1 -2 -3 will switch SR channels, engaging the PTT will transmit on that channel. Map say a HAT switch to the Intercom Mode rotary and another mapping for the Pilot Radio Trigger ICS. The Huey has 2 pilots. DCS has 1. Fly the Huey in an environment where you are the lead and are working all three channels simultaneously you may have some difficulty dependent on your devices and setup. However in SR Client if you set Radio 1, 2 & 3 to the Hat switch (which is also mapped in DCS to the Intercom rotary) and then in the settings page engage Radio Switch works PTT THEN if you push and hold down the HAT switch, DCS will change the Intercom rotary to the correct channel and SR will transmit as long as the HAT switch is pressed. This gives one control to both change channel and transmit rather than 2. Additionally be aware that some devices are not recognised by SR client as ‘set’able i.e. DSD Flight 1. If you are using a keyboard, in DCS you can set 2 key mappings to the same function. Default keyboard action for Intercom 1 is Right Shift + Right CTRL + R. You can only use 1 modifier in SR client NOT 2. So bind Intercom 1 to ‘U’ as well. (a spare key) Set ‘U’ in SR Client for Radio 1 and have the 'Radio Switch works PTT' engaged. Pressing ‘U’ will now switch to Intercom 1 Radio (FM) and transmit as long as it is pressed.

Thanks CB... PM inbound...

Hi Razor... thanks for coming in.. The probs are present with my client connecting to 229th or Buddyspike SR DCS servers... The pic was in response to ...which gave the same result...

Cheers CB, it is appreciated..... sri for the hassle :(

Thanks for your response Sir, but as I said in post 239 I disabled SimShaker to no avail...:( --local SimShakerlfs=require('lfs'); dofile(SimShakerlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/SimShaker.lua') --dofile(lfs.writedir()..[[scripts\SimShaker-export-core\ExportCore.lua]]) local dcsSr=require('lfs');dofile(dcsSr.writedir()..[[scripts\DCS-SimpleRadioStandalone.lua]]) AND for good measure I disabled all MODS, & AV & FW, run DCS repair, ran everything as Admin and tried again, clean - same result - the overlay is still non-reactive. Bit of a head scratcher this is.... Aries & UR & TS & Helios & Ikarus & Simshaker all interact if asked - NO, none were running nor enaged for this, :) DCS log is clean.... so too is SR log...

Thanks CB.. I disabled it, no difference.. Yes there are quite a few on the 299 using simshaker with SR no issues... Unfortunately same result with Multiplayer or SP DCS, Admin screen shows client connection fine but the overlay is still dead... hmmmmm Avast AV and W10 firewall - disabled both at first problems, same result. OS W10 Home (10.0.10586) i7-6700 OC... 16GB RAM..

Thanks for coming back so quickly CB... here you go... local SimShakerlfs=require('lfs'); dofile(SimShakerlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/SimShaker.lua') dofile(lfs.writedir()..[[scripts\SimShaker-export-core\ExportCore.lua]]) local dcsSr=require('lfs');dofile(dcsSr.writedir()..[[scripts\DCS-SimpleRadioStandalone.lua]]) Yes, checked that area first.... all is good... I'll try it without the Simshaker prelude...

Latest standalone software installed direct from Github. SR Client log shows a connection to our squad server with updates. On Multi server (my client 1.5.4.54855.129) in the Huey with all radios on, PTT mapped, the overlay shows no lights, no control nothing, dead, no matter what... Firewall exceptions correct but even with AV and Adv Firewall off, same result. (W10) What am I missing, anyone any ideas?
