..currently wireless... but sole use and 1m distant (just setting PC up)... Internet is a microwave routed though rather than copper to the backbone access point. Yes, I suspect it is a timeout somewhere in the process but it is not a big hassle, just a minor irritant.. -
A continous cycle of 'Updater not working'
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Cheers for coming back BN, I'm well versed with the DCS - Updater and admin rights was the first thing... to no avail.... No AV except W10 native stuff. I've had quite a few issues with updater on my other systems in the 1.2 to 2 beta cycles. It would be so much easier to use a 3rd party reliable torrent app.. There she goes again, stopped working LOL, still thats only 6 updater restarts to get to the 91% state, just means you have to keep checking...:) -
New rig, i7-6700, virgin W10, Initial install DCS... DCS updater runs fine and begins torrents... anytime form around 10-20 mins in, Updater stops working. Restart the updater, it checks torrents and restarts fine, then eventually stops working again. A continous cycle of 'Updater not working' every 15-20 minutes No other issues. log files attached. It'll get there in the end but a bit of a pain... and DCS2 for nevada is still to be looked at. dcsupdater.zip

9-line coordinates 800 miles away!!!
Gizzy replied to euthyphro's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
There may be a problem with MGRS in the DCS map in the Senaki / Kutasisi area - at least the MGRS reference reported by the map is wrong in several 10km 'blocks'. How this relates to input with the A10 I have no idea but here is a small video illustrating a possible error or bug... ? Best viewed full screen - it shows the DCS map zoomed into the Senaki / Kutasisi area. Look at the top left corner MGRS reference as the mouse is moved from GG48 across to LM08 In MGRS GG58 the reference is shown as KM68 and so on until you reach LM08 and it then shows true. The map shows the 37T / 38T overlap at GG98 / LM08 but in this example GG58 to GG98 are shown as being KM's [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEzCAzbcRIE[/ame] -
BUMP It seems this is Uh-1H specific rather than a general DCS map issue.

DCS/1.5.3.50487 Upgrade BREAKS DCS
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
After a repair, thats the next thing I tried BN... Resorted to renaming DCS sub folders 4 at a time & running repair until it was sorted. After 8 folders, Bingo! it works - saved a full complete download. I can only assume some corruption occurred either in the update process or gameplay (I use MP mostly, and there are a few program crashes) and that the initial repair was not picking it up. All is good now and seems to be working fine. Thanks for coming in.. -
DCS/1.5.3.50487 Upgrade BREAKS DCS
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
I assumed that somewhere in the DCS structure file corruption has occurred and that the repair function is not identifying. I renamed the first 4 folders in the structure and run the repair function. They were rebuilt, no change... Did the next 4, rebuilt, good this did it, all appears to be working well. This was quicker that a complete new download and install. @Mizzy I find your comments, "Best you read the tin before you use it" & ".let me tell you most people here have worked out what is what !" completely unhelpful, bordering on being sanctimonious. To me they are unwanted but I suppose in open forum you get this type of behaviour. Reply if you wish, but that is me done on this topic. Thanks all for your responses. -
DCS/1.5.3.50487 Upgrade BREAKS DCS
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Thanks for that, but yes, from the early days of DCS's path to EDGE all executables in DCS I set by default to admin... Looks like ED's AWOL so it'll have to be another download using the rather slow torrenting... Probably part of their business strategy, release on a Friday, take the phone off the hook and go for a long beer... People will have it sorted come Monday morning ... LOL   -
DCS/1.5.3.50487 Upgrade BREAKS DCS
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
As the OP here, let me be clear. This was a normal automatic update from DCS Stable 1.5.2 to 1.5.3. DCS will not start... Period. Running the repair function does not change the situation. No MODS are installed. I even tried renaming the saved games folder to no avail. I realise that other have successfully updated without issue. Is it possible that ED can respond somewhere, rather than, as in some cases, smart arse comments, although helpful responses of whatever worth are most welcome. I honestly do not want to download the whole shebang again... :( -
DCS/1.5.3.50487 Upgrade BREAKS DCS
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Now you have me really confused, especially your reference to OPEN BETA. As far as I am concerned I had the stable version NOT the open beta. ED released this today " DCS World 1.5.3 Now Available. Ran DCS it auto updated and now it is broken. What tin was I supposed to read? I think you are off the mark here... What action do I take... -
DCS 1.5.2 stable WAS working great. Just auto upgraded to DCS 1.5.3. It is now anything but stable! DCS is now broke. It simply will not start. The hard drive light kicks in, the GPU kicks in, then nothing. Ran repair just in case.... Run DCS - same result. To be honest I am getting a little bit tired of this rather tedious upgrade path and constant problems. Log files attached. dcs-1.zip

one TARGET SCRIPT FOR all A/C & switch STATES
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The Huey is slightly different in that the DCS controls uses 2 toggles for your required action. I suggest 2 possible choices... although there are other ways..... Choice 1.... Tweek the script to so that... on FLAPUP sends SHIFT+] release FLAPUP sends SHIFT+[ on FLAPDOWN sends SHIFT+[ release FLAPDOWN sends SHIFT+] FLAPMID set no commands. This will work but of course the script will not be generic to other airframes. Choice 2... Modify your DCS or DCS openalpha Mods > aircraft > Uh-1H > Input > joystick > default.lua file to include... {down = device_commands.Button_8, up = device_commands.Button_8, cockpit_device_id = devices.WEAPON_SYS, value_down = 1.0, value_up = 0.0, name = "Armament ARMED / SAFE", category = "Alternate Control"}, {down = device_commands.Button_8, up = device_commands.Button_8, cockpit_device_id = devices.WEAPON_SYS, value_down = -1.0, value_up = 0.0, name = "Armament OFF / SAFE", category = "Alternate Control"}, This will give you 2 new controls in DCS. In DCS controls set flapup to one and flapdown to the other... and you have your required action... Once DCS stabilises to a solid DCW 2 personally for airframes that I regularly fly I would customise changes via lua files. If you are not familiar with .lua if necessary I can send you a JSGME compatible file. Hope this helps.. -
My understanding of what I read would be different, but then I have no RL experfience to link to. Semantics are at play in many reports... I would balance this with this (Note the reference to strong wind... and then from another post initiated by a pilot who had got 'bit' and crashed... [http://www.pprune.org/archive/index.php/t-69405.html] Whatever, there is load of RF 'stuff' out there however I am sure Polychop will include if it is indeed able to be modelled.

Not sure where you are going aABSO but your insert will just add a RSHIFT to the DX codes for up and down .... This line will send a DX22 when the FLAP moves into the UP position and when it leaves the UP position it will send a RSHIFT+DX22.... or whatever you want to use as an input.. Do something similar for the DOWN position using DX23 and you have 4 commands for a 3 way switch, but I am not sure why you would want such a thing... but good luck... MapKeyIOUMD(&Throttle, FLAPU, CHAIN( DX22, D(), UP+R_SHIFT+DX22), CHAIN( DX22, D(), UP+R_SHIFT+DX22), CHAIN( DX22, D(), UP+R_SHIFT+DX22), CHAIN( DX22, D(), UP+R_SHIFT+DX22), CHAIN( DX22, D(), UP+R_SHIFT+DX22), CHAIN( DX22, D(), UP+R_SHIFT+DX22)); -
one TARGET SCRIPT FOR all A/C & switch STATES
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
For this script, its for 3 positions.. i.e. the flap switch UP is DX22 MID is RSHIFT+DX22 DWN is DX23 Going from either the UP or the DWN position to the MID position will pulse RSHIFT+DX22 You could modify this is you wish to give 4 actions by using a release function.. i.e. Going to UP sends DX22 Releasing UP pulses RSHIFT+DX22 Going to DWN sends DX23 Releasing DWN pulses RSHIFT DX23 Hope this helps a little :) -

Check your desktop is set to Aero.... and you will see needles move just fine if everything is set up... http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/what-is-the-aero-desktop-experience If your desktop is not aero the needles will not display... From the setup pdf ... "For Multi-Monitor-Setup, you have to activate “Windows AERO” on your System. Otherwise Hawgtouch perhaps show you with the squares instead of the instruments." Come back if you are still having grief... Good luck :) -

Hallo-Entwickler ..
