I find if you reset out of the mode and then reselect the DG mode it will acquire, but if you just leave it in the DG mode it does not.

I find I can out turn on the merge and get good aspect on the second turn, maybe high yo-yo if I'm looking to over shoot but in doing so I give up energy and the guy just goes full burn and extends. I totally disengage in the hope that he will reengage quick and not just run until the timer runs out. My next tactic I'm gonna try is going for the snap gun kill at high aspect but the closure rate makes radar acquisition and the kill very difficult for me so far!

Select Zone 5 and extend is so damn annoying loll!!! I can't seem to catch to F4s and F14s!!! They out climb me everytime, I think I am using too much energy on the merge, I just cant seem to get tight enough and close enough for the shot before they bugger off into the stratosphere!!!

I just redid the first ACM mission, would have all the kills but I forgot to arm my guns! Guy vent vertical, I followed. I tried for the shot, not realising that I had not armed. Tried to quickly arm and fire, completely stalled as I was vertical, then proceeded to brake the hard deck trying to regain my energy lol! Got the other two but had to leave for work before I could rtb! Looking forward to doing it again after work tonight!

Cheers, I think I am staying to low and not climbing hence using too much fuel in thick air. Do you enable the drop tank and use the external first or do you wait until your internal is spent and then fill it back up from the drop tank?

This is exactly what I have been waiting for, thank you! The fam fight is great, made me realise how much I need to learn about simple stuff. The only thing I would like is more info on the knee board, like altitudes, times, headings etc. The stuff that is there already is great but more would be awesome! Jumping back to the briefing is not very realistic for me. If this info is somewhere that I can put on my phone to refer to then that is cool and I have missed it! Again this it great, ran out of fuel on my first ACM hop and hand to emergency land just north of the range lol! At least I didn't die!

Yeah same here, I'm about 50 hours in and I'm at 80% lol! Seems my ISP has throttled me down to 80kbps!!! If I cancel the download later, wife is getting rather annoyed at not being able to even check emails, will I be able to carry on from the same point?

None of my mates play DCS :'( might give me another reason to try and get one of them to do so! I was thinking more along the lines of an exe or someway to just download the data. Hopefully it will be done soon, been on about 36 hours and it's at 55%!!!!

My internet is really really slow. I'm getting 100kbps max, can I get someone else to download it and pass it to me via USB stick? I am thinking that this is probably not possible?

Why don't you map all the essentials to hotas? I have the thrustmaster flight x and have everything except radio function keys mapped. I use 2 keys as modifier keys and then that enables the 10 other keys to become 30 keys! Then I can map everything essential!

Dunno if there is a guide. But some people here will be able to advise. Ones that are musts for me; radar range, radar slew, weapons change, radar on, target mode, radar mode, flares, chaff, air break, weapon and gun fire, and centre view, as I use POV hat for view, I've no head tracking etc.
