  1. You should not look to the TacView AOA it is not right AOA i think its just simple geometry angle between touching line to the arc of the turn and vector for aircraft. I guess. So we found that 1.2 lift coeff is maximal and has to be on 28° AOA on cockpit gauge! My estimating turn AT 0.31M was with normal afterbuner! No emergency aft. and as you see in cockpit i've got 2.8g, what is too much and overestimated
  2. Hello, Hiromachi! I've checked myself the parameters in sustained turn at 0.75 Mach we talked before and it looks pretty correct! But me and not only me are really doubt about MiG-21bis behavior at low Mach number, i mean around 0.33M that is equal 400km/h IAS on the deck! To be clear it seems to us overestimated! With afterburner Max G-load in sustained turn that we have in game at 0.33M=400km/h is 2.8-3G can't be in sustain turn! Those data we have, show to us what such G-load might be like available G-load only. I mean you pull stick as hard as you can untill critical AOA and you're loosing speed and G-load is getting to smth. around 1.5-1.8G seems to us! And then you may set a sustain turn with not a good turn rate speed - this is normal behaviour! Our calculates shows 1.225 * ((0.33*1225/3.6)^2)/2 * 23 * 1.2 /(7000 * 9.81) = 3.1 that is reachable 3G in available turn but not in sustain turn! Its impossible to have 15°/sec for turn rate at 400 km/h at critical AOA 29° where lift vector is going to its shelf and then going down and drag has maximum value! Please pay attention at this!
  3. I've just tryed the A4 for first time! I definitly like it! What i noticed: 1. shaking in the cockpit - would be great to have opportunity to adjust it in options! 2. gun fire is going above the central point of the default elevation of the grid - is it right? 3. there is no control indication right ctr+enter Thank you for the tremendous work!
  4. Dear, developers! Please check the turn parameters! Maybe effectiveness of stabilisator was increased? Me and =RAF=FAB999 was trying to check different points on the diagram of the Variation G-Load in Steady Banked Turn from Operation Manual of MiG-21 and the diagram of the Maximum Available G-Load vs Mach Number. I was flying with Full Afterburner at 800 km/h on 1000 meters. It looks like current parameters a little overestimated in range 0.5-0.75G The picture shows a bit floating data of the speed on different parts of the circle, i know! But the G-parameter was pretty clear for me i saw it's not very depanding of it! It's defenetly not the 4.7G as it has to be! I'ts dancing around 5.5G! Check it yourselves please and let us know if i am mistaken and it is Ok! And thank you for the improvement of the nose gear behavior and others changing!
  5. Appreciate it! Would be great!
  6. Thank's to developers one more time for last update! Taking off now is great and it's tuned! Landing is perfect! I finally did my old wish - touch and go the runaway without drop the nose down! Here is the video: Couple days before i had opportunity to ask a real MiG-21 pilot quite thoroughly about taxing, rise the nose up while taking off, landing and the answers satisfied me! We have pretty accurate flight model in DCS now! I've never been flying jet, but when i was listening his explanations i was exactly understanding everithing and even more! I understood that our MiG-21 flight-model was made by pilot! Because only pilot could try to imply some destinctive features! Of course there are some staff still needs to be tuned but any way! Now the general, whole result is very good! So, one more exact thing i'd like to see is correct work of the SPS. Now i do not see the difference with SPS or without! But the difference has to be at least 20 km/h while landing! And the pilot told me about special effect of MiG-21 with SPS! He called it "effect of the spoon". It shows from 10 to 5 meters on approaching exact before leveling and holding! The craft is taking some force some ground effect which pushing it up and the pilot has to give the stick forward short time to compensate it! The reason of it he described to me like the flows from SPS are improving the effectiveness of stabilisators at this speed and it shows exactly with these conditions!

  8. Hi! I want to say thank you for the mod! So current situation is dictating to us to delete all lines related to radar because it coflicts with last changings of the new radar grid!
  11. So, i congratuate everybody with new update of the flight-model and it's fixed many problems which we've been watching before: 1. Old stall behaviour when plane was going to fly by it's belly to forward with crazy 40° AOA in level flight. There was no any other features on critical AOA at all! Done! 2. Now we have pronounced stall behaviour after 32° (35° on cockpit gauge). We have rapid wing rocking, throws from wing to wing in turn and it's going to opposite side of the turn, out of the turn as it has to be because its tipical for delta shaped wing! It is not so simple and not so scripted as we can think, for example if you push a pedal in to the side of turn the wing rocking starts into the turn too! And it's great! Is'nt it? 3. We have central directed stall without wing rocking with spetial conditions! 4. We have inproved behaviour while take off running! No more crazy jumps! 5. We have much more realistic duration of the gear while rude touching! I was trying to brake the gear on 340km/h and -5m/s vertical speed and it's Ok after that! Done! 6. There is no more suspitious wobbling of the nose on pretty good speed 400-700 km/h. Also there was hard to trim. Done! 7. I have noticed there are no more UFO down directed spot lights to the ground when it extended. Done! 8. Bug with critical reducing the heat signature of the jet nozzle with afterburner. Done! Dear developers! I sincerely thank you for the work you've done!

  13. So, i've got the same issue! My FPS is dropping approx. -20 I've made a detailed explanation video with perfomance data on the screen: https://youtu.be/17CcrnoUF_w

  15. There were taken M-2000 fuel 39% and JF-17 fuel 100% Their weight is equal. Overall dimensions are similar. Take a look: Of course the other aircrafts in DCS is going to go forward much faster! )))
  16. I like to think that current flight-model is a result of my notes to developer upper in this topic but i am not sure! )) So what we have now? The developer just turned off the stall and spin behavior of the aircraft after 32° AOA (on the cockpit indicator it is 35°). It is clear! Also, it seems to me (but it is just my fine feelings), the effectiveness of aelerons close to critical AOA are slightly reduced. The reaction for the pedals seems slightly better than earlier as it has to be! Obviously, now it has much softer reaction of the gear! Aircraft is unrealistic jumpy while running. If you try carefully to take up the nose wheel and hold it, the plane is going to airborne itself but if your stick is not on the exact center line in roll direction you will have the rapid jump from one main gear to another and throw you in roll! It's very strange behavior because it has to be in another way! It has to look like smooth release by the main gear of the runaway! Slight touch of one gear is irrelevant and has not notable! Also, it has no buffet before critical AOA. It has no rocking from wing to wing on critical AOA. So... we just have to wait and ask the developer to continue the work have been started!
  17. Look at his broken trajectory! Something wrong with this flight model )) He is able now to pull the stick as hard as need the pilot to reduce the radius of turn to very low value! Please guys dont fly like that on Cold War! Fly realistic! Use the better thrustweight ratio of the MiG-21! Use the vertical oblique loops against F-5 in the BFM fighting! Dont drop the speed! Its the death for any aircraft in all times! Study how to fight and lets do it in proper way! Good luck! See you in the sky Your _SkyRider_
  18. Last days I was flying against MiG-21 on ColdWar and i may say - it looks terrible from the side! The pilots of MiG-21 now are flying constantly on hi AOA at low speed with afterburner! It's absolutely unreachable for F-5 now to get his six and its is not correct! I know it because F-5 has better turn rate at speed range 300-500 knots on ground level! The turn rate of the F-5E with full internal tank starting from 12°/sec and growing to 17° per second when fuel is burning to 1/4-1/5 of the tank quantity. That is pretty good for this generation! Defenetly MiG-21 has worse aerodinamic and cant compete with him in horisontal maneuvers! MiG-21bis has almost the same turn rate only with emergency afterburner! It cant keep this rate for long period of rate fight! Usual picture of the fight with similar amount of fuel is like the MiG-21 keeping the same turn rate around one circle and after that his speed goes below effective range and he is slowing down in turn! Immideately F-5 is closing to his six! MiG-21 has the similar parameters of the turn but now without stall, the pilot watching like F-5 going for him in the turn, just pulling the stick back and loosing the speed and reducing the radius of the turn. F-5 loosing the speed trying to follow but he cant to reduce the radius of the turn because in this case he is going to slow below 260 knots and just freeze in the air like a bait! This is good example of what i mean: The style of flight on the MiG-21 for those pilots who are not worring about realistic - on the Cold War server:

  22. Все замечания донесены до разработчика флайт-модели: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4253234#post4253234
  23. Dear developers! Our community of virtual and some real pilots, (=RAF=, FF and others) are really appreciated the work has been done with flight-model of MiG-21 last update! Generally flight-model is better than before! The plane feels better on the stick, better while increasing AOA! It's better while touching the runaway! The main gear are stronger as it has to be and not so easy damaging! Thank you for that! But front gear looks too jumpy! Yeah its going to jump if touching was inaccurate! And it looks like nose now is lighter! To be clear even in air nose feels to has less weight! Plane even on 700 km/h very sesitive to little movements of the stick in pitch and tending to wobble! This behavior easy to see even while trimming. Triming now is more complicated in pitch than earlier! There are some very importants remarks! 1. Excessive reaction in roll. Effectiveness of ailerons is too hi almost at all modes of flight. Starting from very sesitive to little movements of the stick in roll direction on landing while approaching, even using curves on stick! Especially around zero zone! As we know on low speed any plane feels less reactive on stick! It can't has the same effectivenes as on hi speed! But now we can see opposite picture! Roll is equally effective on landing, on 700 km/h low alt and even on critical low speed on hi altitudes! The real ''stick in the eye'' is the same effectivenes in roll while hi value of AOA! As we know than more you pull the stick than less effective ailerons because of changing conditions the flows on airofoils! Close to critical AOA ailerons has to be ineffective! Now we have opposite behavior of them! 2. We see the AOA has changed judging on gauge in cockpit and DCS tray and we can see it in Tacview! The exact amounts is discussing and we hope you have enough certain information from real sources! But we have info that critical amount of real MiG-21bis is 28° in absolute value! So in cockpit it may be 32° and we understand it's up to you! But now we are able to pull the stick and to see like the needle is laying on 35°... Ok. But again after that tha plane can't to fly in horizontal flight with 40° AOA in DCS system tray and 1G load! We see steady flight with this conditions! More than that and again the effectivenes of ailerons are still very good! On such hi AOA even short time before nose has to go down ailerons has to be less affective than reaction on rudder! 3. We know that tipical behavior of the plain close to critical amounts of AOA is buffet! We want to see jolting, shaking before critical AOA! It's preceding the distinctive throw in roll and shaking in yaw that we know like tipical behavior of the planes with triangle wing! Now thankfully we have this tipical throw! But its has to be to the opposite direction of the turn! Not to the right side every time! This throw is going because changing the conditions of the flows on left and right wings in different ways and it makes the lift on the inner wing and this lift is forcing the plane out of the turn in roll direction! 4. Pay attention, please on condition when engine is stopping especially while stall! It's going to work while quite wild stall! So, we would like to see such behaviour in current flight model! Thank you for the work!
  24. First main rule to fight succesfully is to maintain effective speed in turn! Any maneuver is a turn or part of a turn! Thats why you have to stay in turn on speed 260 - 550 knots! Dont loose it in fight with MiGs and you will win!
  25. Enough clear information of behavior MiG-21 on such AOA and speeds. Sorry for my stile of translation in English! But this last changing has to be in Bulgarian and German Flight Manual of MiG-21bis!
