  1. Yea, I've tried to beat the AI 109 K4 numerous times in the editor with the P-51. It's just a superior aircraft I guess. I have been able to hit it some, but it seems to be pretty tough, I usually can't get very many shots into it since I can't ever seem to get very close to it. Like the others have said it can outmaneuver, out-climb, and out-turn the P-51.
  2. Well that's the first step done.:D Hah, but in a seriousness I wouldn't say no to a cobra; even though I did vote for the Apache, I honestly wouldn't care which one we got. :)
  3. Wow, looks like there's a lot to do, nice job on the trailer. I'm relatively new so I've been favoring coop gameplay. I'll have to check it out sometime.
  4. I saw this on Yahoo the other day I think, those men were certainly brave and quite skilled. RIP Les Munroe
  5. Oh very nice looking so far, I have a feeling this will definitely be a popular module once it's released.
  6. That's actually what I ended up doing, I was reading around and found the link to the download and went from there. It was pretty easy, I like the aesthetics of it so far. I'll have to try DCS World on it tomorrow.:)
  7. Ahh so this is how it's done, I was wondering why my PC wouldn't update since they were saying that it was released two days ago. Thanks!
  8. Yea, I'll do that then, thanks for the advice!
  9. I suppose I probably should, I did try it just out of curiosity and it does work. Essentially, what I did was move my DCS World folder under SteamApps/common to a folder outside of Steam. DCS World does run, however I don't know how it will react to future updates since when I ran the DCS updater program It tried to download 18GB.
  10. Hey guys, I started playing DCS World on Steam but, I now see that standalone is the better choice and would like to take advantage of the sale on ED's site this weekend. So I intend to switch to standalone. My question is whether or not I can simply move my DCS World install out of my Steam folder into another folder and launch from there and continue install additional modules into that location. Is the standalone and Steam install the same or should I re-download DCS World and the modules I have from ED's website?
  11. Yay! I've been waiting for another sale for a while. And I just got paid this week. Wooot! :D
  12. Hah, I just realized that after I thought about it for a minute  I'll probably end up doing that then, I didn't know that DCS had an auto-update feature as well. Thanks for the clarification!
  13. I have been considering it, the only downsides would be that I couldn't take advantage of the Steam sales when it comes to DCS modules, which, admittedly doesn't happen all that often. Moreover I would be missing the auto update feature through steam. I haven't been playing DCS World very long so I'm not sure how often ED has sales on their site. Anyhow I do believe this module is definitely worth the price especially for two variants of the plane.
  14. Wow this is great news, two L-39 variants along with the new rendering system in September, I was kinda wishing I could pre-order it through steam and take advantage of the discount like some of the other fellas here. I'm guessing that won't be possible though?
  15. Oh you guys are working on a 229 as well? That's awesome! I'll definitely be buying this one.
  16. That's pretty awesome! Great touch with the music too. Looks like the runway gets pretty busy.
  17. That's pretty cool, great formation flying, you guys seem very coordinated. :) And that was pretty funny at the end with the planes lagging around lol.
  18. Wow that looks really good so far. It's great to see that you guys are making some good progress on it. Really looking forward to the bird.
  19. Thanks for posting! I missed the Q&A yesterday so this is greatly appreciated.
  20. Hmm as far as this voting list goes I'm going to have to go with the AH-64D, the U.S. needs an attack heli, we already have the KA-50 for the Russians, though I wouldn't mind seeing the Mi-24 as well.:D
  21. Hey guys, I haven't been playing DCS World for very long, so I really don't have as much experience as everyone else here since I don't have all the modules and experience with the various aircraft in the sim. But, anyway I must admit that I prefer the modules with planes that are fully simulated with ASM modelling. I have FC3 and the planes in that module just don't appeal to me that much. There's just a certain joy in being able to flip the switches in the cockpit and manually start your own aircraft, more so when you have the startup sequence memorized, it's just a great feeling. It's a rewarding feeling that no other flight simulation game has given me, I'm not saying that I've played a lot of realistic flight sims, though I have played sims like FSX, X-Plane and, IL-2 COD. However DCS World has stood out from the rest, it's one game that I can justify paying $40-$50 for a single aircraft knowing that the plane I'm buying is going to have nearly all of the systems modeled realistically. So yes, I do think the FC3 planes are of lower fidelity than the rest of the modules for DCS World. At least as far as the aircraft's systems go, personally I prefer to pay the $40-$50 for one highly detailed airplane rather than $40 for several that have automated starting sequences and no interactive cockpits.
