  1. Don't know the meme. I did watch South Park but I don't recognize that... then again, those years were a bit blurry for me :smilewink: Thanks for enlightening me.
  2. 1. "very, very soon" can have different meanings to different people, as you yourself point out. If anyone wanted to know what that meant here, once again, the specified release window was "Winter". Big difference between 'I thought' and 'you said'. 2. People "go crazy" in what sense? You mean people get excited because the F-14 has entered pre-purchase? 3. Vague is "TBA". If anyone was unsure of the date range of Winter, all they had to do was google. 4. People built expectations outside of the terms of sale. That's not unusual, and it's not Heatblur's fault. In fact, when Cobra said they were aiming for Xmas, he prefaced it once again with the guarantee of "Winter", the only guarantee he has ever given. 4. I have no idea what your line of question marks means. If you elaborate I'll do my best to answer. 5. Cobra has offered to refund anyone who felt misled. It's tough to see how he might profit from unrealistic expectations that way. I'm fairly sure I remember release date discussion threads for the Hornet and the AV-8B, and people did speculate on when the module would come out. Yeah, there was some disappointment when one would pass without a release date, but people had the perspective to chuckle and move along to the next one, as many of us are doing. It's a shame that this has been repeatedly dragged off-topic to become the 'Release Date Trolling Thread'.
  3. Yeah, I think that is how it works, so you each bind one key to your account according to OP instructions. That's my understanding.
  4. I do infer a "feel" piloting each airframe. I hope the F-14 feels more like the M2K than the F/A-18, although I doubt I will get my wish.
  5. I'll just get in where I fit in here... After searching "DCS F-18", "DCS F/A-18" and "DCS Hornet" I found six YouTube videos from anyone outside ED before May 9 2018. Of those, two were made with ED's footage, and two of the other four were foreign language, making two English language non-ED YouTube videos released before May 9 last year, the day it was announced the Hornet would enter EA in May 2018. Doesn't seem to me that Heatblur are doing that badly with content creators at an equivalent point, but if I've missed some vids please point them out.
  6. *If* it’s not ready to Cobra’s satisfaction, I think his artistic pride will have to briefly take a back seat and they’ll go with what they’ve got, provided basic functionality is there.
  7. Interesting, not sure we've had a Tuesday called in this thread. I'll be boring and say March 1
  8. Thanks for explaining, it is nice to see the different ways to apply the M2K :)
  9. Ah ok cool, thanks for explaining that
  10. Just wanted to confirm here, we don't have any NVGs (without installing a mod) to fly mission 04 with? If we do, could someone please advise the keyboard shortcut or name in the controls menu? Thanks
  11. Ha ha awesome. I managed to get through the mission in the end without having to edit the lua :pilotfly: Thanks again for being so accessible and quick to answer posts in campaign feedback threads, it is a remarkable thing to be able to ask questions of the person who put the campaign together :)
  12. Thank you!
  13. They are not based in Germany, but regardless the release date is not vague. The end of Winter, which they have clarified as March 21, or earlier.
  14. I believe there was a .txt or .lua file that could be edited to change the user's progress, is there anything of the sort in this M2K Red Flag? I've made five or six attempts at mission 3 and keep making dumb mistakes that have crashed the INS twice, crashed my PC once, missed triggers twice and got shot down fair and square once. All my own doing (or my PC sucking) but I'm really not keen on doing the mission again, pass or fail, so I'd prefer to just move ahead. If someone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it, sorry about the venting heh.
  15. I would love to get a conversation log for each mission. It needn't record the BRAA calls (since you can get them repeated and updated at will), and I imagine one way to do it might be to simply log subtitled speech that is meant to be audible to the player. We could make it part of the interactive map (I think Arma 2 or 3 did that...) so that it could be easily avoided by those who'd rather not use it. It's so easy to miss one line of housekeeping instructions (eg whether you already have start up clearance or need to obtain it) and fall behind the time line trying to work out what was missed. I like hearing different accents in DCS, but there have been times I've been unable to catch a couple of words while going through startup and not being able to look up in time to see the subtitles. I'm sure many of us have missed necessary dialogue thanks to phones ringing, doorbells chiming, dogs barking and partners yelling, and been so far into a mission we didn't have time to restart it. Having that speech logged would be a nice quality-of-life improvement that would make things a little bit more compatible with life.

    F-15 E Book

Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle Dual-Role Fighter Aircraft - Operations Procedures, Aircrew Evaluation Criteria, Aircrew Training Flying Operations Link to a Kindle e-book, not free I'm afraid. Just thought I'd post it in case any of you are interested... https://read.amazon.com.au/kp/embed?asin=B00GJQVFDA&preview=newtab&linkCode=kpe&ref_=cm_sw_r_kb_dp_aIWoCb3RKHK7N
  17. When you prepurchse you get a discount (as displayed in the ED Store). You will receive Early Access once the developer is ready to move it to EA, which at this point we expect will be March 21 or before. What follows is a brief rundown of what Early Access is (in the gospel according to Horns), in case you're not sure... "Early Access" effectively means you get the chance to beta test once the devs believe it is ready. When the module is released it *will* be missing some features, for instance we will only get the -B variant at first, with the -A to be released later on, and I think the targeting pod might not be available at first either - but I'm not certain. There is always the chance there might be a game-breaking bug, and these are fixed as the devs are able, so the aircraft might be unusable for you for a time. Early Access is not for everyone. I like Early Access because I like learning whatever is available, and I take a long time about learning so adjusting for missing systems isn't a huge problem. However, if you want an aircraft you can jump in and fly and know it will work the way it should, it might be worth waiting for the proper release.
  18. Nineline, apologies for reposting but I’d really like some guidance... Is there any expectation that modules purchased for standalone might be eligible to transfer to Steam in the foreseeable future?
  19. Thanks BD, that’s exactly the information I need :pilotfly:
  20. Can anyone point out to me where I can find the desired airspeed to each waypoint? I couldn't see it anywhere, which probably means it's right in front of my face...
  21. I'm exclusively in SP so I know what you're saying. Until I found out about Jester I thought I was going to have to skip this module, glad to have AAIAI
  22. Would we be able to transition existing standalone modules to the Steam version in the foreseeable future? Is it being considered?
  23. I really enjoyed this campaign. The action and technical dialogue do a good job of reinforcing and continuing the learning experience of the interactive training missions, and the script and characters provide very entertaining storytelling too. I could almost see Berger 01 smiling and waving a finger in mock reproach as he said "Chevy... negative!" Great work, and I look forward to doing the Red Flag campaign :)
  24. Any reason to expect that transferring the other way would become available in the foreseeable future?
