  1. Sorry if this isn't the right place for this, but I felt it was the closest thing to my problem. So pretty much every track I have in DCS is corrupted. I can view them and they play, but they never play back the track even remotely accurately for me. I just got done flying around in the BF-109. I had a smooth takeoff and landing, probably the best ones I have ever had. But when I watch the track, right off the bat it shows me swinging my 109 violently around on the ground dragging the wings, and then lines me 45 degrees off the runway and slams me right into a fence. The rest of the track is just blank after that. Is there anyway I can increase the reliability of the tracks so that I'm getting accurate playbacks? I wouldn't care if it was just a little bit off or whatever, but when entire flights are dying before takeoff in the replay even though we had an uneventful or a successful mission in reality, it's a little frustrating.
  2. Make sure the company is set to Germany and you can pick a few JG skins. Here's my 109 wishlist for post-beta: Having the ground crew bend trim tabs for combat loaded cruising speed. This will stop the tail heavy tendency of the airplane even at full nose down trim. The ability to change the ammunition loadout on the ground (MGSH round, MGSH round, Tracer, for example, in the 30mm) As much as I love it, reduce the climbrate to it's historical level. Currently the 109 can climb to like 9km altitude in a little over 4 minutes or something like that. There's a pretty write up on the forums about it somewhere here. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with the K-4. It'll never be my beloved Emil or Friedrich, but it's good enough. EDIT: wrong number. Also adding that all the stuff I mentioned have been written about, researched and discussed here on the forums; I'm not going to go digging around for the research to post it here. If you are interested in reading about it, look around, you'll find the topics. Make your own conclusions.
  3. I definitely agree with that and I can't speak to their experiences. I can only speak to mine, and seeing the amount of 30mm hits in the debrief screen. Like I said, sometimes it takes a single round, and other times I can put 15-20 (confirmed hits) into P-51 and not really see it do anything. I never considered the damage model being the problem. That would explain a lot of the inconsistencies I personally experience. Good to hear that ED is aware of it and looking into it. Hopefully it will eventually lead to being able to change our ammunition on the ground as well
  4. Until those issues you see are fixed though, they are still annoying, and still a problem. I and I think a lot of other people find the 30mm to be very inconsistent. It either works like it's historical counterpart, or you might as well just stop firing it and rely on your 13mm guns. The consistency is the problem for me.
  5. My personal experience in the 109 and the 30mm seems to be really hit and miss. I've shot down AI and Human P-51s with a single 30mm hit, and I've been shot down by ai and human P-51s after dropping 20+ 30mm rounds into them.
  6. Thanks for the response. I guess I am just being too easy on the controls then. It's a challenge coming from Cliffs of Dover where You have to ease into a vertical maneuver because if you pull too hard too fast, you'll drop the right wing. As for how much WWII dogfighting experience, I've got probably 500+ hours in the Emil model of the 109 (E-3 and E-4 typically), if that gives you a better idea on what my level of skill is.
  7. Hopefully this is an okay place to put this. Short and sweet, I'm looking for some combat tips in the K-4, fighting Mustangs. From what I've read, the Kurfürst is more maneuverable than the P-51 in DCS, and also climbs a bit faster? But I cannot seem to make those work for me. To give you a bit of background, I've been flying the 109 for awhile (the Emil in Cliffs of Dover with TF installed), so I've gotten very used to energy fighting Spitfires instead of trying to maneuver with them. Maybe I'm just pulling too hard too fast in the K-4 here in DCS. I ease off the stick when the plane begins to shudder, but it seems like every time the P-51 is able to keep up in the turn, or turn even harder and smoke me. I've also tried to climb up and away from the Mustang (around 2km altitude, I am unfamiliar with the P-51s envelope at that altitude), but he follows me into the climb until I roll out or stall out, or he points his nose slightly high and starts shooting. So what do you K-4 aces do? Teach a virtual 1940/41 pilot how to fly your modern 1944 aircraft.
