0 Rudder 0 Aileron Wish we had elevator trim tabs, but ED has made it pretty clear they think we're retarded so I'm not holding my breath. Besides, it's not like it's impossible to fly the 109 without elevator tabs. Just a bit exhausting for those of use who don't want to modify our sticks with 5 feet of PVC pipe.

In real life, we would expand the radar. In simplified DCS avionics, I don't think there is anything you can do.

I was a part of that team! Mr. Baranek is a great guy, and phenomenal to work with! Looking forward to the Tomcat.

I've never been able to get them working.

Number 1 is a known issue, it has to do with (I suspect) abrupt changes in manifold pressure. Number 2 is intended I believe.

Does a FFB controller make a HUGE difference ?...

PM me with everything you know about this. -

It's a pad, not an actual chair? Where can I get my hands on one then? -
Well this explains a lot of the questions regarding the damage modeling I think.

Possibility of other 109 Models as an addon?
jester_ replied to IronJockel's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Eh... VEAO "has access" to a lot of things, so they say. -
Eh just learn to read the German words in there. I'm basically an expert in German now. *kidding it's a joke haha everybody it's funny haha*

Trim settings, tail heavyness...
jester_ replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Noted; I still believe ED has acknowledged it as an issue. There's no way in hell that is the correct behavior. Tapping the brakes while at a low taxi speed (maybe 15km/h) results in a goddamn near front flip. -

I could be wrong but I believe I read somewhere that it is a known [unintentional] issue, along with the black smoke trailing following an abrupt change in manifold pressure. -
Vision - Mission Statement - Road Map
jester_ replied to Talisman_VR 's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Where can I get the Thesaurus you're using? I'm sure DCS WWII will be pretty cool when it's released in 2021. Until then, we still have Cliffs of Dover to hold us over. -
IIRC the 5-6 degree rudder trim isn't for taking off, it's for the power reduction @ 46" and 2700 RPM after the takeoff. So OP you still need to use your rudder somehow during the takeoff roll. I'd highly recommend getting some rudder pedals. They are essential for WWII planes, and they are extremely useful in modern aircraft as well.

I speak for me, but I don't consider "No, our model is correct, trust me." as a response to a genuine inquiry into whether or not something is not working properly after a massive update. I kind of feel like a lot of people are frustrated because they (we) feel like we aren't being taken seriously. But I only consistently fly the 109 so I don't have any other input other than my own experiences in 2.0 with the Dora which is irrelevant because I never fight the turn fight.

This is really the kicker. I don't understand the secrecy of not sharing data regarding flight models and performance in sim games, at the very least for aircraft that are well beyond age. I could understand keeping that info under wraps for aircraft like the A-10, or the upcoming Hornet, but for prop planes flown in World War II, it's almost ridiculous. I think a lot of instances where people challenge Yo Yo's FM data because they lost in a fight would be nipped in the bud if access to that data was open. It is incredibly frustrating to try to bring what we think is a problem to the developer, demonstrate the alleged problem over and over, compare it to data that we find only to be told, "That's inconsistent with our data. Good luck."

Yeah but nothing beats being able to fly down the strip and visually see in game, from the cockpit of my Messerschmitt, the exact street corner I was hurling my brains out when I got smashed hanging out with EDM act Zardonic at 4am. That was trippy and cool. Thanks for that experience Eagle Dynamics!

That pitching up ( to loop ! ) due to prop effects...
jester_ replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
I have experienced the pitch up issue with a centered ball. I experience it frequently, but never to the aggressive amount you said. Typically I'm at about 440Km/h, and centering the ball results in the 109 pulling nose high pretty quickly. -
Interesting. I guess different pilots preferred different methods. Most of the quotes I find are of German aces claiming the takeoff was not difficult provided you lock the tailwheel, and that most of the accidents on takeoff were the result of poor training and new pilots falling victim to the so called "Messerschmitt Corner".
-
What German pilot was that?
-
Be easy on the stick. Never yank back as hard as you can in an instant. Otherwise, maneuver outside the plane of the aircraft you are fighting.
-
Lol all these people falling victim to the classic "Messerschmitt Corner". I've offered what advice I can to avoid it. Good luck to the rest of you. I look forward to seeing you guys in the air eventually.

Can't wait for your Airbus A-320 module!
