  1. Great APP!! In the future can you add the ability for the app to remember it's last window size and layout? The only issue I've noticed is the long press doesn't seem to work correctly with mouse buttons. It seems to act more like the release button action. Thanks

  4. First you need Combined Arms, of course, then you need to add a tank to the map editor. You will also need to add a "battlefield commander" slot, I think it's called. It's on the tool bar in the mission editor. I think it's the icon with the two flags facing away from each other. You can select blue or red side, or both. Run the mission and select the tank. There is a button on the map somewhere that allows you to occupy the vehicle. I can't remember where it is. This is all from memory, so it should be enough to point you in the right direction.
  5. The MSAA being only drawn at the center of the view is the genius in all this. I removed a lot of the other stuff from the mod. The glass, shadows and sun glare stuff, as I didn't want to compromise on those things. If ED looks at ANYTHING first it should be the MSAA trick.
  6. Thanks!! Have always felt the US equipment and AI have been nerfed in DCS. It's not hard to understand why there would be a touch of Russian bias. You only need to put an "excellent" F/A-18 AI against an "average" MIG-21 AI and watch the MIG win EVERY dogfight.
  7. It takes awhile to compile again. It will become unresponsive during the compile, just wait it out.

  9. Make sure you're not in "game" flight mode. The aircraft is a brick in game mode. Pretty sure it's a bug.
  10. Hi, I've been playing DCS for years now, but only in single player. I play in sim mode, but I don't know how to use radios or any of the deeper elements of DCS. I know how serious the MP community of DCS is and that has always kept me away from trying it. Is this something I could get my feet wet in? I don't want to accidentally shoot another player down and ruin their fun :) I have been learning the FA-18 and would like to slowly work my way into MP.
  11. It's easier to just make a copy of the folder in JSGME and enable it as a mod.
  12. I can verify that "game flight mode" does indeed make it hard to get into the air on carrier launch. It must be bugged.
  13. Mine does. I couldn't even get to afterburner until someone told me about the finger lifts. I could see the cockpit throttle stop at the detent position.
  14. I usually run in game flight mode and sim avionics. I tried it both ways and I don't play multiplayer. I leave the carrier at about 140 knots, I see videos of others exiting the carrier at about 190 knots. I also noticed that I don't go into afterburner on launch, is that normal? I checked my axis for my pitch and everything looks fine.
  15. I'm having the exact same problems. Elevators are stuck in a high position and I can't get any decent power.
  16. You are right, as I said, the distance really didn't change. However, the severity of the pop-in for this foliage changed dramatically. It's the difference between an instant pop-in and a gradual fade in. Try it, you will see the difference. Remember this has to do with ground ops, nothing to do with flying. There is something broken in this system. My changes shouldn't work like this, but they do.
  17. I found a little tweak that makes it much more easy on the eyes. In the graphics.lua you will find the following lines under the Terrain section. distancFactor = { Low = 0.65; Medium = 0.65; High = 0.65; Ultra = 0.65; Extreme = 0.65; High was set to 1.0, Ultra was set to 1.2 and Extreme was 1.5. I changed the settings to the above numbers and the visual distance didn't change much but the pop-in is now very gradual. The plants kind of grow slowly out of the ground at distance and don't just pop up instantly. It took an hour or so of testing to come up with .65 as a perfect visual number. I assumed this was for rendering the terrain, itself, but I didn't see any difference other than the weed popping. I am much more satisfied with this solution than default. Thanks, everyone, for the input.
  18. I've been trying to mess with lua files and dds files to get rid of these bushes, but I just can't figure it out. The bushes look fine, they just pop up at a very close range and it looks terrible with a moving vehicle. They don't seem to be considered "grass" so you can't get rid of them with that setting. I'm going to keep trying, anyone know of an easy way to get rid of these? Thanks.

  20. I think the ground textures are fine, but the tree textures look odd and out of place, like plastic. Except for the winter trees, they are phenomenal.
  21. Those aren't trees, they are just a well disguised blanket texture.
  22. I'm really enjoying this mod in DCS 2.1. Is there anyway to switch weapons in AG mode? The F-15C "weapon switch" input only cycles AA weapons. So basically if you're carrying bombs and rockets it defaults to bombs first. Once the bombs are dropped it auto changes to rockets. Is this possible? Also I am attaching an additional default.lua so that you don't have to use the 7 key only, it will allow you to assign it to your joystick also. It will go in the following folder ...Input/joystick/ default.lua
