  1. Wait, what does "not filtered" mean?
  2. It's still 0.0017 unfortunately.
  3. DirtyFret found the new location of the weapons scripts, I'll test and report back later.
  4. Mk-82s are still underpowered without this mod: I dropped 6 at less than 5 meters from a guard tower and it barely scratched its health. Rockets are somewhat decent against big clumps of infantry, but still useless agains soft targets. Unless you score a direct hit, trucks are impervious to them for example.
  5. Doesnt' work with 1.5.4, since it seems the Config\Weapons folder doesn't exist anymore.
  6. Doesnt' work with 1.5.4, since it seems the Config\Weapons folder doesn't exist anymore. Any chance we could get it back up in some way?
  7. It's not an enhancement, it's a paradigm shift. The contention is wether this new paradigm makes sense for everyone or not.
  8. As I said previously, we're not all playing on a 52' 4K screen.
  9. The difference is a real pilot would not move the head downwards to see the instruments, he'd just glance at them. That's why some of us find the old view more useful than the new one. It's a matter of priorities. I'd rather see less sky but the instruments without having to move my head, rather than see more sky and less instruments. Calling the old view wrong is incorrect as well by the way. There's a reason it was angled down in the first place.
  10. How? Because I have the feeling ED will just steam forwards and ignore those who prefer the old way.
  11. Yeah I'm trying to convey why I think it's the one that makes more sense as well.
  12. This is my point. Since I'm not flying a real jet, why should I be impaired by the visual system, forcing me to do what in the real thing I wouldn't have to? What is the positive gain of the new visual angle? You basically see nothing of the cockpit, and a lot more of the sky. I'd rather see my instruments with that small FOV allowed by my monitor, than a whole bunch of sky. This may be debatable for fighters, but a ground pounder like the A-10C, that relies quite a lot on the MFCDs as well, I don't care that much about what's going on 10000 feet above me. I'm more preoccupied about what my instruments are telling me and what is going on on the ground. Am I making sense here?
  13. My point precisely. If you can glance without moving my head IRL, why should I move my head with TIR just to see the ADI? This I can't understand. And having to recenter the view every time is not much of a chore problem, but more of a consistency one. Before, if I wanted to recenter I just look at the middle of the screen, and done. What now? I have to angle my head 20° to 30° up every time, with no reference to how much; I might end up placing a marker on the wall or something. Also, after doing that every time I look to the back or the side the viewpoint sinks, and the HUD is not aligned anymore. I understand where they're going with these changes, but they're not going at it the right way.
  14. Right. Could you glance at the instruments in the front panel without moving your head?
  15. Let me try to point out what I find annoying about this new system. Have you ever sit in a real cockpit? At an air show or something?
  16. Even if, it's not comparable. If you've ever sit in a real cockpit, you might have noticed you can glance at the front panel without moving your head. Precisely what the old TIR viewpoint allowed to do. There is no reason whatsoever to force anyone to move their head to see the front panel.
  17. Yeah tough luck for all of us poor guys stuck with a 21' Full HD that never saw the true light of VR and thus don't know how things should be done. Seriously.
  18. Wait so what's the point? Is this about internal consistency with your view wrappers? Why force the players to recenter every time by looking up (meaning you'll never get a consistent default POV) instead of straight at the monitor?
  19. I don't want to point my head at my desk and strain my eyes upward to do instrument stuff thank you very much. Considering the fact I wear glasses as well.
  20. JSGME is also an option. Please don't remove the old controller if the views we currently have really are intended.
  21. I honestly want to see a video of anyone playing in the sim with TIR and the current broken angle. It's just not possible, considering you can't even see through the HUD properly. Seems like there's a massive disconnect between ED and its userbase. Forcing the TIR users to see the same thing as the VR users just for internal coding consistency sake makes no sense. IRL and with VR, one can glance at the MFCDs for example by moving their eyes, with no head movement at all. That's why TIR's view is angled down. Asking thousands of TIR viewers to look through binoculars all of a sudden is going to ruffle a lot of feathers. I don't see how anything but visual flight can be performed with that camera view. Am I supposed to point my head at my desk and look up at my monitor to keep a constant bank angle using the ADI for example?
