Hey good wingmen, I'm looking for that really good Matt Wagner DCS A-10C manual. I have it on my tablet but not on my LT. I went over to the manuals section here in the forum and tried to d'load it but it said it was removed. Could someone be kind enough to pop up a link for it, be much appreciated.

Big ups for you Leo! thank you kindly brother. I will definitely be checking out Kneeboard builder and learning how to add info and use it. That wind issue is one I was going to ask about in the forum, so now you've answered my question concerning that, thanks. Where in my CDU is the wind data btw?

Wow I can't believe I forgot bout MS Paint, you can convert to anything. I used to use it heaps for my photo stuff. Anyway all happening beautifully now ( thanks big time to FeeFi! for that memory prompt :o) yes there's a little cropping and drag n dropping but hey I'm leaps and bounds from where I was but I'll give that Kneeboard builder a whirl, thank you Crash, I appreciate that man and the prob I was having earlier was firstly I couldn't locate my kneeboard folder then when I found it I didn't have Adobe installed so that made it a tad difficult. All systems go now tho, thanks again all for the help and also cheers Quest and Hamilton, thanks a bunch. It easy when you get to know how :o)

Wish I could get stuff into my kneeboard *sigh*

Hey there! Thanks a bunch but it didn't work out. I couldn't do anything with those and I tried heaps. I downloaded Adobe Acrobat and can view those checklist files that I sent you but there is no option to send or copy to my Kneeboard folder and when I try to find one, up pops this page that wants me to pay $$ to get the right software to send PNG files and other types. Phhfft I can't be bothered and it's a shame cause I really like the idea of the kneeboard and just wanted a simple method that enables me to load stuff into it without all this bother and effing around. Geez, like whatever happened to the ole drag n drop method. I'm over it, I'll just reference from notes I've printed, no biggie. Thanks for trying anyway hombre, appreciate your effort. Cheers G

Adding info to kneeboard Hey that's very kind of you man, I appreciate that. I just sent it now and all I'm really needing as I explained in the email is 20 pages I've listed of that Operators Checklist. I can't seem to get them individually out of that "e" reader format thingo. Anyway I printed them out ages ago and needed one the other night and thought they would be great in my kneeboard as they're each a one page ref guide, very handy while your up in the air. Thanks again, cheers G

Kneeboard Hey you got that right brother, I can't even find a tool for resizing stuff, prob have to buy an app grrr :(

Well I gave it a shot and it didn't pan out man. Yes I found that folder or file with DCS Saved games and created a folder named KNEEBOARD but before that I saved each page from that Operators Checklist Manual as I wanted specific reference pages in my kneeboard and I dragged and dropped one into that KNEEBOARD folder I created but it didn't show up when I went back into the game. I use Win 10 and it's really difficult for me cause I had Win XP for years and it was so easy to use and do stuff with, now everything is APPs based and it sux man, anyway when I looked at each file I saved they all read 348kb each which means its like the all of them as a whole in that program WIN 10 opens it with, it's hard to explain it in computer terms properly but each page should be no more than a few 30 or 40 kb yes? I dunno, I can't be bothered now as I spent like 2 wasted hours and now I'm bummed and should've been flying a mission instead. Dam fangle computers! Update: Finally I had some success. It didn't work at first because I forgot to create a A-10C folder within that Kneeboard folder but then I found it still didn't do anything because of this "Edge" Win10 program balony that my A-10C Checklist is saved in so I just grabbed any ole doc from one of my scans files and that worked perfectly so now I'll just scan what I want to go into my kneeboard and that's that but sometimes certain docs I scan or print save in that Edge reader thing. I wish I had good ole Word back, that was good for puty simpletins like moi. Thanks again for help and input, cheers G :o)

Beautiful, thanks man!

That's awesome, a good Dad ;-) Hey listen I been meaning to ask how does one get that little annotation or sub note if you like at the bottom of ones post describing their setup? You know like Intel blah blah GTX etc

Kneeboard blues Hey thanks snowsniper, appreciate that mate. I'm now wishing I did that computer course back in the 90s :book::cry:

Kneeboard info Hey thanks fellas, that's mighty handy and much appreciated, Cheers Yikes! That's fumble proof? Hmm that's some serious detail there but I'll give it a shot and also I got a link to Bunyaps tutorial on this as well and he's always good. I haven't watched all of it yet but I def will. And I was thinking, I reckon it would be great if the Devs of the Campaigns could include the Mission Brief in the kneeboard for each mission, now that would be awesome but if not, is it possible for us to include them with that kneeboard builder? :book:

Kneeboard info Thanks BD, although I'm having trouble finding my save games but I did find the kneeboard folder for Aircraft in DCS folder and tried to add the full A-10C checklist but it didn't work, It's a PDF file and anyway I'm kinda fumbly when it comes to that stuff

Hey thanks for your input brother and only a few hours a week! Wow you busy man! Yea I purchased both the Basic and Advanced Training missions a little while back now so I'm definitely going to have to do them at some stage but I want to be fully armed beforehand. I love the Campaign missions and I'm only guessing but I reckon on average they take between 30 and 40 mins to complete, depending on how quickly you can get things done. Although some can last an hour or so if you have lots of waypoints to navigate through and don't use the ole increase time option which is something I never do. I love hearing the Radio chatter and just taking it all in and setting the Auto Pilot then go make myself a dbl voddy n coke and Piercing Fury is starting out to be an awesome ride but I still got to hit the books and get this shutdown procedure nailed. Cheers

Hey good wingmen, pasted below is this very old post I found of how to add stuff to your kneeboard which is something I really want to do. So I'm just checking if this is still the correct way to achieve this today? Cheers! G "In your <user>\Saved Games\DCS folder, create a folder named KNEEBOARD In that folder, add the images you want. They can be PNG or JPG (maybe other formats too?), and any size - they will be scaled to fit. Keep them to a 3:4 portrait aspect ratio, though, or they will become distorted. That's it! In game, open up your kneepad, then hit "previous page" to flip through your custom pages! "

Thanks fellas and yes BD I remember and I'm still excited about that NTTR one in the works but that's the first I've heard of this Crimson Dawn, cool name too, man that's awesome news. Yea I'll give that a try kylekatarn720 hey why not, but those munitions are my weakest link, do you gen use them in CCIP mode? I need more training on the range before I use them in a campaign I reckon and speaking of which that PFury is a fairly hard marker. Like if you don't taxi or shutdown correctly you don't get %100 and I'm not sure where to taxi, is it where you embark from or is there a way to find out where to park? When I shut down via the cheat I lost like %15! Then I flew again but this time I did it by lifting my throttle and moving it aft over that hump and shutting down that way but still I only scored %95, not sure why, maybe I parked in the boss's spot. And to be quite honest I've never really studied the shutdown procedure properly yet, but I very much want to.

Hey cool wingmen, Would anyone here know if ED will be developing or releasing any more story driven Campaigns for the A-10C? I've completed a few and just started Piercing Fury but after this one phht nada zipp. Hmm, although there is the Basic and Advanced Training missions *sigh* The Campaigns are so enjoyable to fly. I'm totally hooked, especially in the story that weaves through to the last mission and they're good value too even with my lousy exchange rate. Well, just thought I would ask. Cheers, G

Hey there SiThSpAwN, great stuff man. Hey can that sound script only play in your own missions? As I would sure like it in my Campaign missions too!

A-10C rolling with engines idle on start up.
GazAce replied to Ocelotunit's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Hey all, it just happened to me on the very first mission in Piercing Fury after ramp start but NOT in any missions of these campaigns.. The Enemy Within, Georgian Hammer or Stone Shield which is kinda weird, meh doesn't worry me, I just keep the wheels chocked :o) -
Thanks Rick, appreciate that. I use Win10 64 bit, it's pretty stable most of the time but Win is a beast of it's own and with windows your always at it's mercy. I'm interested in this UltraMFCD mainly to see if would be a poor mans alt to TrackIR 5 as down here it retails for around $350 but I'm not even sure if TiR5 will work on my rig as I use my 55" tv monitor and sit about 3 mtrs away from it, so maybe distance would be an issue. I sent off a email to the company who make them and naturally they said it would be fine but I'm not sure. Anyway was just a thought, cheers, thanx again. G

Hey wingmen, Sorry I'm straying a bit from my original post but I just wanted to say that personally speaking I think DCS is the most unique and enjoyable sim on the planet and I've investigated and flown a few but a "game" like War Thunder in my book doesn't even rate. It's like comparing ARMA III to Call of Duty. Where DCS like ARMA III can only be played with a computer and not a gaming console and for great results quite a high end PC at that but also both incorporate a high level of detail and information which virtually forces the user to learn and think and not just mindlessly shoot at anything that moves with a red name or tag above it. DCS has many layers of dynamic facets that keep you interested while learning and engaging and not to mention an awesome library of info that's available and also its start-up pack is free! What more do you want?! And the campaigns are very reasonably priced compared to what's in the gaming market today. Nothing beats it and I'm sure it'll only get better but I do sometimes pray it doesn't go down the path of it one day being used with an Xbox controller. Peace out, G :)

Yikes! One thing I did notice tho was when I set the Civ traffic option to its highest level my frame rate suffered.
-
Hey good wingmen, I'm interested to know if anyone here uses the UltraMFCD and if it's easy to use and is it any good? I've been to the site and had a look and it looks pretty good but just wondering if it takes away the realism of the cockpit and the whole dynamics of flying?
-
Wow no that's weird but mine was coming on too but I realised I was hitting the letter L by mistake as its next to one of the slewing keys on my keyboard.
-
I want that.. oh and the ME looked good too
