  1. Hey Dave, yea that's where I pinched it from I'm still looking for how to quickly get to my Ground Speed whilst Taxiing, I found it once in NTTR during that first Training missions of BD's but haven't been able to replicate and for something completely different.. sometimes when I switch from Auto WP stepping to Manual via my CDU by first selecting "other" with my Page rotary dial my right MFCD TGP goes blank and it doesn't come back after I return the dial back to it's normal position and I have to completely shut down those screens and reboot em which annoying. I've also got this problem of when I'm setting my DSMS towards the end of my ramp start. The things is, when I select GBU12 or CBU97 for that matter, then the profile and change it to CCRP then go out of that screen after saving, it shows CCIP? I have to keep repeating the steps a few times before it stays as CCRP. Asking too much? I couldn't find anything in my manual about this, only the procedure which I'm pretty sure I'm following correctly.. or am I?
  2. I just inadvertently found this reference guide and I think it's the best thing since sliced bread. A truly magnificent effort in putting this together and I wish I found it 9 months ago. Fantastic effort Chuck, kudos to you man  https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-uSpZROuEd3NHp0SHZoTGpnUDA
  3. I'll definitely take that onboard, thanks kindly and yes I'm really conscious about it directly relating to DCS and performance as I want a system that'll not have to be upgraded for a little while you know and one that'll be able to run everything incl the F-18 Hornet if I make the transition. I've been browsing and I know I mentioned I def won't buy off the shelf but I noticed that MSY mob also sell good high end gaming rigs that they build there, and man they're way cheaper than MSi or Alienware that have similar specs. If you've got a min have a look at the M.spec. Rising Force RF 2 for $3499, man that's a beast, it's something to think about anyway. And them being around the corner from me is good if there's any problems you know. http://www.msy.com.au/SYSTEMS/risingforce.pdf and I reckon those specs in an MSi system would cost near $5K. And just one question.. what's it mean when they state "unlocked 8 core and 16 thread" or "performance 6 core with 12 thread" I'm guessing this is CPU related yes?
  4. That's awesome David, I really appreciate that man. I'm definitely going to build one with a friend and as I said in my other recent post above, MSY is just around the corner from where I live so that's handy. I'm just interested in what you said about the monitor and I'm hoping my Samsung 4K tv will be good enough? And will I still be able to utilise my AV 5:1 ch unit and its speakers or do I have to start thinking about other alternatives with a good sound card. As I have it rigged now is.. and I know it may sound archaic to some but I run a high speed HDMI cable from my LT through to my AV unit and then from the AV to the TV and the picture and sound are fine. I don't want to get too bogged down in this, I'll just take one step at a time, I just hope I can still use all my six speakers as the sound is grand and big and fills the room nicely. Thanks again David, much appreciated mate. Cheers G
  5. Problem solved* Thanks Harp that's very kind of you and I appreciate it greatly as I do all tips and comments concerning this. This community is truly awesome and so helpful, I'm blessed. And I totally made up my mind thanks to everyone here. I am so NOT going to dish out 3K or more on a new system when for the same dough I can have state of the art specs and more than what I would get as buying one off the shelf. I work for Sydney Trains and there's hundreds of folks actually thousands and in my Depot prob a few hundred which is great because there's always someone that's knows something about that particular something. Anyway this afternoon just before starting my shift I'm having a yap with a mate and he saw me scrolling though these comments on my work iPad and I told him my dilemma. And he said "no worries mate, I build those suckers" was like gold hearing that and he's going to show me how to put together a mean machine and another bonus is where he gets his bits n pieces from is MSY which someone here kindly mentioned and is in Hurstville the adjacent suburb from where I live, only 5 mins drive. Only had a few mins but we scratched out a few things to get the ball rollng... $415 - I7- 7700 CPU $199 - MB Gigabyte Z270 Gaming K3 $280 - 85 Samsung SSD x 2 256gb? $789 - GTX 1080 ASUS ..and there's also the cooling system, power supply, tower and sound card to think about, not sure what else? And this mob MSY charge only $90 to put one together for you but I would prefer putting it together with a friend so I can change stuff around later and also learn. Well, thanks again for all your input, it's really helped. Cheers G
  6. Yea I agree, I'm going to investigate further and I like the idea of putting one together myself but I've never done it before. There are companies over here that build em for you to your specs. This mob got some good reviews.. https://evatech.com.au/
  7. Thanks, appreciate that. Check this out, this one is with GTX 1060 and still $2K on special! Things are pricey over here, almost worth my while getting one shipped over. ASUS ROG I7-7700 16Gb 256Gb SSD GTX1060 W10 RGB LED Mini Gaming
  8. Thanks for the feedback and I kinda knew I would attract those comments but that's cool, I understand it's cheaper to put a rig together yourself and I'm actually still considering that idea but with that, there are variables also like warranty and having all the ports available and stuff you know. Sure I would like to spend less but you must understand also here in Auz things are not cheap ie: $3,000 AUD = $2,369 USD Our dollar is crappola so your rig in the States for the same dough compared to one here in Australia is like chalk n cheese. I'm concerned about warranty and if it's going to be too noisy and is cooling system going to be suitable and will there be enough HDMI outs or USB etc etc. And yea I really like putting stuff together, that'd be fun but what happens if it doesn't perform or is too loud or gets too hot or the wrong lego bits don't fit or or? I really dig the specs and the look of that system but yea I know it's too expensive. I don't know what to do. Anyway, thanks kindly for your tips. Cheers G
  9. Interesting article and some great shots, thanks for sharing.
  10. Hey groovy Pilots, I currently use a MSi Dominator Pro LT, it has some pretty good specs under the hood for being 2 years old and was the first with an 8GB Nvidia 980M but it's definitely time to move up. I've had my eye on a particular system for a couple of months now and all the reviews are pretty good. It's a tad pricey but it's around my budget and I know it would be cheaper to build my own but I just want one that's ready to go, plug n play and start flying my Hawg the day I unbox it. So I was just wondering if anyone out there has this model or their thoughts about it and any tips I should know before setting her up. Oh yea, I use a 55" 4K Samsung tv monitor and high speed HDMI cables through a 5:1 ch AV unit, I recently purchased a new Sony 7:2 system but DCS didn't like it as I was getting some terrible tearing across my screen whilst moving my camera around, in and out of my cockpit. I took it back 5 days later and got a refund. Anyway, cheers , G  https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Branded-Systems/Gaming-Systems/67169-AEGIS-X3-014AU
  11. That was phenomenal! Thank you for putting it up man.
  12. BAHAHA BIX!! Your profile pic is too funny man! Pure gold
  13. #1 Training Mission 9/10 Hey good Pilots, I thought this first instalment was a beauty. And more than likely an excellent precursor of what's to come. Everything from the grandeur of Nellis AFB ( and man oh man whatta an AFB it is!!) to the vast expanses of the beautiful open desert scenery and what a pleasant change it is having not to worry about smacking into the side of a mountain or not pulling out of a valley dive. I've not had much experience with NTTR, just the odd mission here and there as I'm still engrossed in this GH with CA but hey that's the beauty of DCS, you can take your time and pick n choose along the way but getting back to this Training Mission, I was blown away by the level of detail and can't possibly imagine how much time a project like this entails and I'm sure we're all aware that BD and DB posses the Midas touch when it comes to creating these things. I thought it was well paced and well presented right from the get go, the Briefing was well thought out and I actually made myself absorb it and I found it an interesting good read. From there into your Cockpit and I know this is a training mission but it sure helped in knowing your Ramp Start off by heart as being ready for the next command made it easier to quickly progress. I found the Radio Frequencies a little dauntng at first as it was a whole new beast from what I've been used to but that's all good and I got a bit muddled with that IFF panel as that's something I have'nt had much experience with and the 2 hours it took to complete zoomed by as you were always busy. The instructor was great and sounded like a really cool dude with a bohemian streak and not like a cyborg so you felt immediately at ease and relaxed as he gave you tips and let you re ask questions if need be. I kinda botched up the ending as I didn't wait long enough at the designated line after landing and taxiing but on my second run I'll def be following instructions. I'm not going to pull this thing apart and forensically examine the faults because for one, there were hardly any which is pretty rare for a first time round pre production project so to speak and secondly.. don't sweat the small stuff, these little things will get sorted. I also discovered how to check my ground speed whilst taxiing, I've always wondered about that and will be taking note on my second try as I forgot how to replicate it away from this mission (tgp cdu 2 clicks or osb 10 two clicks or something??) Anyway without this turning into War n Peace I'll finish off my little review here by saying I found this first Training mission very enjoyable and engaging. And I think it's going to be great for noobs, casual flyers and Vets alike, it makes the A-10C even more enjoyable to fly. It def gets my vote and I'll be throwing my $$$ at it when it's released. So, praise to BD, DB and all others who helped in creating this one. I'm sure the rest of it will be a winner. Cheers, peace out. G
  14. Aww I love that mission... as a matter of fact I loved em all! And yep BD ( all mighty creator) is right, take out the two groups after you see the flare and make contact. you'll nail it! TEW is dollar for dollar the best value campaign around! I'm prob gunna fly it again! Man I'll never get to NTTR this way lol Peace out, Gaz
  15. Thanks MD, appreciate that. 14-2 CA didn't crash so that's great. I'll see how the others go in time and let you know. Cheers man
  16. Thanks kindly Ian and great work on GH btw. And re:patch yea I thought as much. And I'm sure hoping ED does bother with it because I really enjoyed that campaign. Cheers mate and thx for chiming in. Gary
  17. Appreciate that Raze but isn't there a diff between the two, in the "user files" I only see Georgian Hammer patch available but no GH with CA. Does the patch provide a fix for the both? And the Georgian Hammer campaign on its own works perfectly for me, no crashes. Ok, let me explain better. eg: CA-Push-14-2 crashes to Windows on launch (and nearly all of CA missions do the same, Push 14-2 and all of Push launch perfectly and I completed with no dramas and I just now installed added that patch and still the same result. Nothing more I can say man. I just hope ED can be bothered in doing something abut it.
  18. I understand, thankyou
  19. Hey Raze. It's GH with CA campaign that keeps crashing to Win after launch and out of 30 odd missions there's only about 4 or 5 that actually do start. I threw up a post about it a little while ago. I tried adding that patch but I'm pretty sure that was for other errors anyway and I'm not entirely sure if that patch can incl GH with CA as it only said GH. Well, not sure if that makes any difference but they still crashing anyway. I emailed support at ED and a helpful fella there said he did after a few attempts replicate the fault and that they will look into it when they have time. Thanks for reply man
  20. Hey good Pilots, I would love to see Georgian Hammer campaign Pt 2. Yea I know it's kinda old school now and what with the shiny new NTTR and the whole WWII thing keeping everyone at ED pretty time poor, they prob couldn't be bothered. That was my first campaign in the A-10C and after completing the ground breaking Enemy Within and Stone Shield and just last evening finished Piercing Fury and btw hats off to Ranger79 and all who helped in creating that epic campaign, was truly fantastic and I really can't decide between them which was the best, they're all excellent, incredible in fact, but something keeps drawing me back to GH. I totally inhaled this campaign, man I loved it and especially the scenery around Batumi, flying in off the ocean and those little towns and cities and some may disagree but personally graphics wise I reckon it's top shelf, just magic and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere ( maybe in Mudspike ) the scenery got a bit of a upgrade recently or I might be wrong. Anyway I'm hoping they patch the campaign with CA missions up to stop those annoying crash to Win but even better would be a new 25 mission or so installment of GH pt 2, now that'd be quite awesome. Wishful thinking I guess. Oh well, that's my 50c worth. Cheers, peace out. :)
  21. That's awesome fellas, really clears it up for me, thanks kindly.
  22. Hey good pilots, Can anyone explain what these Frequencies for Nellis AFB mean and what do I set my VHF AM, VHF FM and UHF to when requesting start up or taxiing from there? I'm totally flummoxed. 327 MHz 132.55 MHz 38.7 MHz 3.9 MHz
  23. Eureka I found it! Hey your a legend Gierasimov! And you won't believe this one but I went back into my folders only a few mins before I read this post you left and thought I would give it another shot so I drag n dropped that file (the one I left a screen shot of with the BitTorrent icon next to it) from my missions folder into the campaigns one, went back into DCS and BAM! I found it! looking under My Missions.. there it was Justin Armstrong 124th blah blah the real deal Holyfield! Too late now for me to give it a whirl but tomorrow first thing, it looks sooo sweet this one, can't wait. And I'm def going to try and get rid of that BitTorrent, so thank you again for posting those tips there, I very much appreciate it and it looks like files can still be added even with the alien BiTorrent attached but I prefer not. Dam I love happy endings, Cheers, G
  24. Hey Gierasimov, I was just now reading this on my ph at hme and thought that's awesome you offering to help amigo, so I fired up the LT. I use Win 10 home and yep correct IE.
