Whooo hooo!!! Rockin!!! Yea baby!!! :-) -
Wow I'm glad I'm asked, some really interesting points and figures there and thanks all for chiming in. And thank you kindly Kippy for that offer man, hey I would be honoured but you know what?! I've never done Multiplayer and don't even own a headset haha I wouldn't know where to start. I'm still discovering things in the A-10C, it's been three months now with my HOTAS Warthog throttle n stick and I'm still absolutely loving it. And only last week completed the amazing Enemy Within campaign just today before work finally finished off Stone Shield, next I want to fnish The Georgian Hammer campaign as I'm only a third way through and it's proving to be pretty tuff. Maybe with a few more months under my belt I maybe ready for a go at multiplayer. And I really applied myself to this, reading, writing, listening and watching tutorials, asking questions and it's paying off ten fold man! I would advise anyone thinking of embarking on this journey to get the HOTAS set up and go for it! It's so much fun and so awesome and well worth the effort. Sorry I'm rambling haha, peace out, G :-)

Hey wingmen, I'm curious to know how many DCS users there are on the planet and from how many different countries we all represent? I guess Admin at ED would know. Anyway besides that, it's great to know that this is a friendly global community and boy that's something that's very much welcome in these troubled times

Haha your very welcome man ;-)

A funny thing happened on the way to a version

Thanks kindly Frag and Oscar, much appreciated :-) -
Last night something weird happened. I opened up DCS 2 Nevada and it prompted me to start installing a new update, k no worries. It was getting late or should I say early and was taking like forever so I thought I would try the HTML download instead and man that was worse. So I canceled the download and went back to DCS 1 my original one but then later when I went back to NTTR it didn't prompt me to update and I checked earlier today and again no update prompt? Anyone know why this happens and now I'm not sure how I know what the latest vers of either is? I have Vers 1.5.6.5199 for DCS World and Vers 2.0.5.3889 for DCS NTTR , are these current? :)

For single player missions? Hi all, this is prob a stupid question but can this be used in single player campaign missions or is this only for real time multiplayers?

Snap issue finally sorted yayy! ;-) Yea me too, was doin my head in and it's so nice to be able to snap to any view I desire now although I still have to hold down the number key that's chosen but that's ok too cause whilst doing that any dial, knob or switch is still mouse clickable AND it's saving a sore neck tilting my head all the time haha. Thank you again very much to all who chimed in with tips. Cheers, G
-
Thanks Yurgs appreciate that tip mate. I'm now into mission 18 of TEW and really enjoying it, actually don't want it to end and I bet the last one will be a real tuffy. Cheers, G

Thanks guys , appreciate those tips. I reckon that's the trick. Cheers, G Yep, just flew it, The zero was left out. All good now, Cheers, G

Just flew Georgian Hammer DCS Campaign missions Push 8:2 and Push 9:2 and both times were given coordinates and were entered the same way and both times worked perfectly so not sure what's going on with that other mission.

CDU View finally resolved Eureka I found it! I was using right Ctrl + Shift + Num and instead of a number I pressed / or * by mistake and found that the view could moved up and down whilst zoomed in on my CDU, so Right Ctrl + Shift + / or * gives me the perfect view of my CDU with its dials and also I saved a view for my Radio panel as well. It's great what you can discover.

Hey good Pilots, does anyone recall mission 15 TEW campaign? This one is a tuffy and there's quite a bit to do. Not long into the mission I receive coordinates to a beacon and I enter them in my CDU but I keep getting CDU input error on my HUD. Now, I've checked and dble checked my settings and still keep getting the same error mesg. Yes I make sure both my Steerpoint and Page Rotary dials are set correctly and also I'm selecting the correct LSKs on my CDU. ie Lat and Long and making sure my CDU is in the Waypoint screen to start with and I also dble checked that I'm entering the correct coordinates but time and time again I keep getting the same error mesg which is frustrating. And I'm not sure if the mission can be completed without them either. If anyone can recall this one and has experienced the same probs, please let us know. Cheers G I may try and change the Steerpoint and Page rotary dials as I was following Bunyap Sims settings exactly as he had them in his Lat Long waypoint from coordinates tutorial. His were set straight ahead.. Steerpoint to Mission and Page dial to Steer setting. Oh and the coordinates that I receive are Lat 42 50 16 N Long 42 30 53 E

This issue is now resolved, just needed remapping, thanks kindly to all who helped. Cheers G

Thank you majapahit for your input. This issue is kinda resolved for me as now I'm able to at least get a view of my CDU that's useable. Although I'm puzzled as to why the CDU is not available to me in a view that includes both my rotary dials for selecting waypoints, mission and other options. I can include these in the view but I have to zoom out to a length that then makes the CDU screen virtually unreadable. It's ok, like I said I found a pretty good view now. Thank you again to all who helped. Cheers G

All cool, it's great and thoughtful that you passed it on, thanks. I now just got to go through it slowly and make sure it works and it's there for keeps. Cheers.

Thanks guys, appreciate that but I forgot to mention I can't get the UHF option using my Mic switch. I was trying last night and the only settings available are Mic switch fwd for VHF AM and mic switch aft for VHF FM but when I use dwn Mic switch for UHF, nothing happens which is probably why I can't reach my wingman. I'm thinking maybe need to re map that function when I get home tonight.

I'm having this problem lately where my wingmen won't respond to me. I tried AM , FM and even the Interphone thing. Was it something I said!? The text in the Radio list top right of my screen is not greyed out either so I don't why he doesn't respond. I used to fly with easy communication on but now I want to get the hang of setting the right frequencies and I'm learning to use all three of my Radios correctly but I think there's something I'm missing. Is there a way of finding out what frequency he is using or does my radio tune into his by default? Anyway it's starting to get lonely up there but more importantly not helping me blow !#%^* up

Wow! that's incredible and I'm very grateful for your input, thank you, I'll be trying that out asap. Cheers
-
I'm actually more confused now than what I was initially lol. Although, thanks Fakum I do appreciate your help man. Just wondering.. what are your S3 and H2 buttons? Do you use TM HOTAS Throttle n Stick like me? And I'm just puzzled as to why my snap view to my CDU only shows the top half of that panel. It's a mystery but I can get around it by using that other method I mentioned but I would prefer an immediate view. Sorry, just realised what you use is written above me doh

Thank you very Hansolo and equally to you Blech, that's awesome fellas! My printer now is smokin :o)

Hey good people, Just wondering if there is any tutorials out there on using the Radio. I get a bit confused sometimes about which Radio panel I use and which dials or knobs to turn. The one directly behind my Throttle seems to be always used for the Tower but there are a couple of other systems below that are used for contacting JTAC and your Wingmen. I'm not sure which is which so I need some guidance and so wondering if there is anything out there to lend a hand with this. Or maybe just check out the Matt Wagner manual. :book:
-
That's fantastic! Where'd you get them from and how are they powered? USB?
-
Thanks fellas, I very much appreciate your input and sorry if my question was a tad convoluted. All I basically want is a view that I find that's suitable and to be able to save it and map it to my controller. And it's my snap view to my CDU that's causing the problem. Like I mentioned in my prev post I'm only seeing the top half of my CDU when I use that snap view. And also like I mentioned I've fiddled around with it and found that Right Ctrl + Shift after I snap view to my CDU then I can use that to finally get a good image. It's ok for now but it would easier if I could go bang there it is instead fiddling around. Thanks again anyway, I'll take onboard what you all recommended and try some more tonight on my Rampstart P.S , WildBillKelsoe, yes thank you I do realise the RCtrl + Num etc but you then mentioned I might want to adjust to "user snap views" to get the full CDU in display. I may have already tried that but just in case not, how do you adjust the user snap views and are they any different from the generic snap views?
-
That's simply beautiful :-)
