I am looking for fellow mig21 pilots to fly with on the 159th server, or any pvp server. I play most nights after 10pm pst. Just looking for people to intercept with.

Maybe I'll try 0 again. I mean it's multiplayer so I can't check the configuration for the missions 159th runs but hopefully they have 0 setup. I'll play around with it and see if I can get a response.

Thanks I'll give that a try when I'm on tonight. AWACS is just kind of helpful when running such a limited radar system. Hopefully I will have some luck with a low altitude ambush but if I can get info from AWACS it'll make it a lot easier. I read that the default frequency for AWACS was what the next poster had mentioned and was channel 0 on the mig but that didn't work yesterday.

I haven't played with the mission editor but from what I understand the AWACS channel needs to be setup by whoever designs the missions. Is there a way to find this? I asked several people and the only response I got back was to use / F7 etc. I tried to explain that I need the correct channel in the mig21 to get a response but they didn't answer. Is this just a common problem with multiplayer where people don't configure it or am I just not looking In the right place (briefing didn't mention it on the 159th server).

Button mapping would be good, had to change a couple things around for the mig 21 the other day and it's annoying having to launch into the single player game, make changes, quit and then launch multiplayer.

This app is great for quick reference. Payloads feature and weapons descriptions are definitely the highlight. Cheers.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I'm just a huge fan of the mig21 and I'd like to be able to hold my own against more modern jets as I don't plan on straying too far from such a wonderfully detailed simulation.

Does anyone attempt to use radar guided missiles or is it better to stick with a full IR loadout and strictly use ambush tactics and only use the radar in combination with the early warning system to get a picture of where the enemy is? I flew in the 159th last night but the server was sparsely populated so I didn't have a chance to test any tactics as Noone was at near any of the way points or even the surrounding areas (I flew around for 2 hours with one landing to refuel)

Time zone could be an issue as I'm west coast and usually on after 10 or 11 pm, but I'll happily fly with you. I'll be Tsing the mig 21 to multiplayer for the first time later tonight. Should be interesting.

I should also note as I missed this when reading the manual. You can also mark your position on the map on the kneeboard with right ctrl + down arrow. I'm sure most DCS veteran players already knew this but I just discovered it and it is helpful.

That is actually very helpful thank you. I don't expect to be flying the exact course when there is no arc or rsbn for the way point I just don't want to be flying in the opposite direction but with the use of the map it should make it fairly simple but it was nice to get some clarification on that, cheers.

The second mission in the companion doesn't specify any arc or rsbn channels for the way points in either the briefing or the kneeboard from what I can see. I can see where the way points are on the map. Am I supposed to just try and follow that or am I missing something?

Been flying the mig since yesterday and I am now familiar with the start up procedures and I can navigate with the arc radio and fly quite confidently. I did however get a little over zealous with my speed earlier today and got the initiated roll that occurs at max speed at higher altitude. I recovered from that but in the process my canopy jettisoned itself without any input. Could this be because I exceeded the g limits?

So I just bought he mig 15 and moved from steam to the standalone. I have the f15 and su27 through steam. I have uninstalled the steam version. Got everything transfered and ready to go. Mig15 activate no problem. Now both the f15 and su27 keys refuse to activate bit oddly still let me play when I click exit. Anyone have any suggestions? Nevermind it was asking for my mig15 key when loading an f15 mission so I was just confused....

Thanks, I just bought the mig15 from the dcs site so I'm currently switching over to standalone anyway so I guess it's irrelevant now lol. Is there an option after installing the stand alone to opt into open beta?

Anyone know if the standalone 1.5 release coincides with the steam release or should I just switch over to standalone?

Finished the first 3 missions tonight, good stuff. Though I couldn't help myself on the first mission, just had to take down the plane. Second mission was awesome. Good target practice with the Canon and got used to bore sight mode. Excited to see what the rest of the missions bring.

I was on that server last night checking out the Multiplayer for the first time. Gonna have to reinstall TeamSpeak as that sounds like a necessity for dcs.

Thanks ya that's where I found the maple flag missions stuff. I'll have to take some time and check out the editor. I've always had fun playing around in the editor in every game that has had one so I can't imagine I will have too many issues with this one.
