  1. x2 and I love flying the Hawk, but quit before testing was over because the bomb runs are useless. Additionally, every time I initially spawn in one, the lag spikes VERY hard for everyone. Each time I initially spawn everyone in TeamSpeak says something about the lag spike. I've unintentionally killed a friendly helo with my lag bomb. It's a cool idea, but should be removed, tweaked and brought back to a later round
  2. I've done a few with the Hawk. They're pretty much a waste of time, effort, and lives. It's mainly Farps you can make it to since enemy air defenses are typically stronger at bases. If you can manage to make it back to your base safely, it calls in a bomb strike after about 5-8 minutes. If this doesn't get shot down (it does), it carpet bombs inaccurately and doesn't hit anything. Typically, if your side is pursuing a FARP, by the time you fly up there, collect Intel, fly home, deliver Intel, wait for bombers to blast, your friendlies have already closed or captured it. Now, you have B-1s bombing the crap out of a friendly base. A more elegant option may be to allow transmittal of intel while still airborne or at least in a 10nm range of friendly airspace. Also, a more effective, accurate bombing run. The runs look awesome and leaves the farp looking like the moon, but nothing gets hit. At least in my 4-5 successful intel runs.
  3. Teamspeak, mate. It's essential for success in any sortie in Blue Flag. You'll usually have a GCI acting as a controller and can vector you as needed.
  4. You're right, I should been more specific. The F-4 is a huge bird and relied heavily on its speed and radar. In a turning fight against such a nimble like the 29, it's s toast. The original F-4 didn't even have cannons since it was so reliant on the electronic warfare (soon realized mistake). It carries heavy payloads quickly and can intercept, but it's no match for a more modern 29 or 27. I guess I just don't see the logic of having F-4s and not something more evenly matched.
  5. Please replace Blue's F-4s with something more capable like an F-16. F-4s were never meant to fight A2A... especially against Fulcrums. I love Blue Flag, but this is a glaring issue. Other than that, thank you guys (once again) for all the effort put into this venture!
  6. I was on the fence about this module, but Chuck's guide took some of the intimidation out from trying to learn a new aircraft. This is a good module for Blue Flag. Chuck, you are a real asset to the community!

    F-15E?

Plus, the 2040c is a concept and will never happen.
  8. So stoked! First BF I'll be participating in fully.
  9. Incredibly too narrow. Maybe in a small GA aircraft, but not in anything I'm to fly simulator-wise. I'll take a strong pass on these.
  10. I agree with the more targeted bombers for the intel portion. I've been messing with the Hawk quite a bit during this testing phase. The difficulty of getting a jet with no EWR, countermeasures or radar over an enemy airfield and back to friendly territory should, imho, have a greater payoff. The juice really isn't worth the squeeze at this point and doesn't contribute too much to the combined effort. Even with CAP escort, you still have a lot of ground threats. Other than that, thank you guys very much; I can't believe this is free. I am not jealous of all the immaturity y'all have to deal with on these forums. Thank you for your team's hard work because I know this is a massive undertaking. Cheers!
  11. lol @ all of this drama over a game.
  12. Chuck, I just want to say it again. Thank you! You've clearly spent a lot of time on these tutorials and they are very high quality. People would pay a good amount of money for these and you're generous enough to have them available without charge. You are truly a valuable member of our niche society and thousands have benefited from your efforts. Cheers!
  13. I see the Hawk is added to the selectable aircraft, but it says it's only for squadron members (or something to that effect). Will this be changing soon for the testing?
  14. I head to Air Force pilot training around April/May and I will be aiming for the A-10 when the time comes around the end of UPT (about 52-55 weeks). If I am fortunate enough, I will share all experiences.
  15. This write-up convinced me to pre-order the NTTR.
  16. I'm willing to help. I'm an air traffic controller in real life, so I have the controller voice down pat!

  18. Does anyone know once the ZA is released if the rear seat will be more of a RIO/WSO type position to control ordnance or just an additional crew compartment?
  19. I'm at SJ now! I'm a tower controller and I find out next week if I'm going to pilot training. I'm just trying to reach escape velocity out of Shady J. It's not the worst place in the AF by any stretch, but it's not my favorite.
