is it possible to fly with a recorded track?
muse458 posted a topic in User Created Missions General
Hi Guys, Im wanting to practice formation flying by flying a routine first myself, saving the track and then would like to be able to load the track in a mission and fly with it. is this possible?, I have seen some others simply rename .trk to .miz Cheers -
Cheers thanks for the help I think its because of the open beta version, however when I force an update with DCS it says the installed version 1.5.7.9459.362 is up to date. So not sure how to get it to the next version of 1.5.7.9891?

Hi all, having trouble getting this plane to install I have FC3 installed (have for years) my current install is 1.5.7.9459 and i dont have the new SU-33 PFM coming up just the old version Tried following the instructions with the force install. Opened cmd and navigated to my "bin" folder and then pasted "DCS_updater.exe install SU-33" (made sure its in capitals) it then comes back with the following error "SU-33 unknown module" cannot get this plane installed... any ideas?

Hi Jafa, I also agree with Catseye that there a probably quite a lot of flyers itching to have a decent merlin sound for their Mustang or Spitfire. Your preview video's have shown a clear mastery of the sound game, and I for one (at least twice a week) are always looking to see if a new post on the "G" thread pop up on the mustang thread and get excited thinking, here it is! Sounds like you have been creating great things through a number of sims over the years and like contributing to the community, I have just spent countless hours helping a developer on x-plane improve his next release because I want it to be as good as it can for everyone else who might fly it. Im assuming thats why you also went on this journey to create this soundpack and share it with everyone...and since the merlin sounds have been completed theres only one thing left to do lol bestow this great community your awesome gift and get ready for the "wow"s and "holy crap" and "this is amazing" comments and we obviously look forward to the Mig 29 as well :) Cheers... please!!!!

Hi Jafa Just touching base on if there is an update for your awesome sound packs?, i'm sure we are all a bit curious how its all going.. no pressure ..just excited thats all Cheers

Hi Jafa, Thanks again for creating this awesome sound pack, al thou can't help myself just politely asking how the testing with the horseman is going? also I just watched this video of Kermie in the mustang and i thought it may have some usable sound samples? (by the sound of what you have presented so far I don't think you will need it but just in case) Cheers

Krasnodar Variable ground attack (SP or MP)
muse458 replied to Apache600's topic in User Created Missions General
Hi Apache600 Awesome job on the mission! played the latest version 0864 single player and works great, quick question, me and my buddy were flying on the DCS inferno server for a while and I suggested we play your mission. I set up the server as usual and he joined the server no problem and I loaded straight into the aircraft selection menu as host, however on his side he just had a loading screen that went forever and never got to the aircraft selection menu. then he tried hosting and same thing happened to me. we then tried creating our own server with a mission i made and straight in. any idea why the non-hosting side seems to stall on the loading screen? -
Really looking forward to this Jafa. Very much appreciated my all of us!! legend

Hi All, just went to a small local Airshow where a Mustang I and the please of going for a ride in a few years back. I then went into a open hanger and saw it in pieces! apparently complete refurbishment and paint job coming. Thought the pics might be of interest to some. Also another mustang did a few flightbys in the show.

Hi all, just found this video about 8 years ago on the proper startup of a spitfire. Pretty close to the DCS tutorial. One thing that has helped me immensely on takeoffs is the elevator trim of one notch down... not up like in the DCS video. Tried it out on a flight tonight and no problems getting of the ground. (no takeoff assist) Give it a try :)

HI All, just wondering if there is a solution to this (maybe ED will have a option :Simple Prop Animation etc) Is anyone else experiencing this? a few of us are experiencing the problem, the spitfire prop animation looks awesome but its terrible for VR frame rates, especially when you are flying at the sun. The P51 prop is great in this respect as you can only just see it. is there anyway of replacing the spitfire prop animation with the P51 Prop animation? or any other solutions to this... love the plane... just want to be able to fly jitter free.

Different VR performance in Different Aircraft?
muse458 replied to Falcaw's topic in Virtual Reality
Well just got the Spitfire and its awesome, but it has a little of this threads problem of not being optimised for VR. The only issue I have found is the massive prop...it looks awesome but if you have HDR on and looking at the sun through the prop, frame rates cut in half...usually I get around 40-45 frames... loaded up the spitfire with engine running, and got a juttery 18-22 frames. Seems the problem maybe the animation on the prop is a lot "thicker" than the P51.. .Also just running normally with ASW turned on, looking forward at the prop gives me the ASW jelly feature.. so Crtl +num 1 for this plane at the moment.. anyone else getting this? -
Sounds awesome mate...really looking forward to this!

Hey all, not sure if this goes here in this thread as its more general discussion around spitfires, but this guy built his own full scale spitfire.Check it out!

Hi Pikey, Just did the update to 2.04 and I use VR as well.... getting a slide show of 14 FPS even at toonapah with not much in the way of scenery as well..terrible!! I then tried the same flight using the monitor with VR switched off and getting a nice 120-130 FPS.. so definitely seems to be a VR thing... quick question are you using WIN 7? or 10?

i wonder what a flight sim would be like with VR and full motion?
muse458 replied to steve2112's topic in Virtual Reality
Hey Steve2112 Ive also been flying in VR for a while (just finished a dogfight session actually, pretty intense)... and first thing that came to my mind was "I need full motion with this!"... I see your building a 2DOF..and I have been building one through trial and error with the xsimulator forums help because I couldn't really afford the atomic' A3's of the world ,but I still wanted 3DOF and good range of motion. I would love to get your input as Im thinking about open sourcing my design so others dont have to go through the learning curve I did...but first wanted to get some input from the community to see what people actually want in a motion sim for VR. would it be ok to ask you for your help on this? -
Option to set world scale / Enlarge / Reduce (airplane)
muse458 replied to misoswan's topic in Virtual Reality
Hi all had a quick chat with Dan who creates the flyinside-fsx software about how he implemented the world scale function and he basically said the following The whole world scale concept is extremely simple. Let's say your IPD is 64mm. Normally the simulator will draw the left-eye from one camera, and the right-eye from a camera 64mm to the right. If, instead, you draw the right eye from a camera 128mm to the right, everything will look half the size. If you draw from a camera only 32mm to the right, everything looks twice the size. That's all there is to it, easy enough to implement. So chaps how do we get Wags to add it in the next release? any ideas? -
Hey All, have a CV1 and just wondering in this discussion on a VR wish list, that a motion simulator to complete the immersion is on anyones minds apart from me?

Option to set world scale / Enlarge / Reduce (airplane)
muse458 replied to misoswan's topic in Virtual Reality
Hi All, Just got my CV1 after using the DK2 for a number of months and wow, when I jumped into the cockpit on DCS i felt like I was in a boat... everything is massive, really out of scale. (well to my point of view :). I have sat in an l39 cockpit and a p51 cockpit and it there is not a lot of room, especially for me and I'm only 6'1. There definitely seems to be something out of scale here. I fly with p3d a lot and use flyinside-fsx.com software which works great and has an awesome world scale function, which is a slider that takes the scale up and down in 10% increments. Would love to see that implemented in DCS...please!! even if my scale point of view is incorrect it would be great just to have that option. Cheers
