1. As a guide for the size, each of the side panels are a standard width of 5 3/4" I believe.
2. Hey Mariner. I am not sure if this will work out for you, but the first image is similar to the above and the same image copied from the DACO book, Shogun who based his pit on it, said he took it to his local Kinko's and had them enlarge the image 747% and print it. He was not sure how close it came. Mind you that the image may be altered by the copy and paste routine I am guessing. But I can give you the exact measurements for a number of gauges and a couple panels if you like to test how close they are. The second image was my attempt to make a life sized image on GIMP. Not sure how it would print out though. Hope this helps a little. Salute, Punk
3. Hey guys, I will try to dig out a throttle quadrant this weekend and make some measurements for the physical throws and such for anyone shooting for accuracy. Hope everyone is having a happy holiday season. Salute
4. US training was similar I believe when it came time to get airborne. Pilots flew the RIO candidates around and were the primary instructor for the hop as Rios flew with pilot candidates. They were not experts per se, but knew the info needed for an up as I understand it. Salute
5. I have a couple of the original A model throttle quadrants, but between them being boxed somewhere in the garage and my broken ankle, I can not get to them right now. If you want to wait I can get them later down the road when I can walk without crutches. I attached some plans for the handles, not sure but might be for D model, though with a couple of buttons different between A/B, they should be the similar sized. Might help you get started. I believe it is the second page of the grips. Salute, Punk throttlegrips.pdf
6. That is true. At the time I had some extra cash and knew I was taking a chance. Never know if you do not flip that coin sometimes. I wish I could recommend their product, I truly do.
7. I would warn you guys that if it is like what their initial production version is, it will fall apart shortly after you start using it. Unfortunately, I am the one who contracted for them to make it. The materials are all low quality. I never got to use it in flight. Any new ones might be better, I don't know. I know I made them mad when they had to redesign it so the throttles moved left for AB instead of the standard detent.
8. Hey Dino, The airspeed indicator is 3 1/4" Square. I have the fuel gauge and TIT gauge as well if you need those. Some other odds and ends and a couple panels. Mumbles, I like your idea about putting together a project guide as well. Thumbs up on all the work you guys are doing. Salute, Punk
9. Hush, they don't know yet! Thanks for the well wishes guys, just a matter of time at this point. Thanks HB for the files. Salute All, Punk
10. Hey Dino, I have an airspeed indicator somewhere, I will try and find it and get you measurements, but I broke my ankle, so being on crutches has slowed me down more than my normal slow. I have a few other instruments like fuel gauge, and panels and such. Not sure what all I have. Will try to find and get you the info. Salute, Punk Hey Gypsy!, Did you ever get that ejection handle hooked up to a switch for your pit?

12. I have to say wow! You guys have taken this to a whole new level from my original plan to just build the panels. I am excited to see what comes from this. I have to say that when I sat in the cockpit of the Cat in Santa Rosa, CA, it fit like a glove. It was so comfortable and everything was right there. Visibility over the nose and all around was incredible. I was used to seeing big engines and props out front, it was an amazing experience. Salute, Punk
13. Sorry Hemi, been out of town. I will get back to you.
14. +1 While some of your opinion is correct, I would leave out the comparisons to sporting events and trash talk, it does not happen in a dogfight. Personally, I prefer the professional tone with maybe a touch of urgency in hairy situations. Personal preference is all. I would like to see the voices distorted a little to simulate the mask and radio interference rather than studio quality vocals as well. Just my lowly opinion. In the end it will be what it will be and we will adapt. <Salute>
15. Well, if you wash your hands you will always be welcome to join along officially or unofficially at anytime! :)
16. Lol, yeah, that's about right I guess. But they get the camo bird if they like I guess. Not sure how they were used in the fleet, whether they were just training scenarios ashore or what.
17. Thanks , if we are able to form up enough interest we would definitely love hooking up with you and your sister squadron from CVW-17, VFA-83 Rampagers, and do joint ops. Maybe we all could eventually form Carrier Group Six properly or something down the line if everyone gets along. We have a couple chopper guys who are interested in CSAR and Guard missions among other things and if enough interest is garnered we can activate VF-74 Be-Devilers. <Salute> Punk
18. Yeah, I thought about it Swordsman :) But then I would have to find a RIO named Spud and think about how he got his handle :( I talked to the Jolly Rogers and we will not have any problems going with the Sluggers if we push forward. They plan on using VF-84 for their F-14 forays. The Arrowslingers was one of my two backup plans though. <Salute> Punk
19. Right on man, let the fight for the virtual DCS "Mutha" trophy begin! :)
20. Since we all anticipate the arrival of our favorite bird, I was thinking about starting the process of forming a squadron and perhaps having it expand to a carrier air wing over time if there is enough interest. I am new to DCS world, my experience with flight sims and squads comes from AH II, so I hope to draw upon other fellow noobs and some experienced hands to help make the process easier and therefore a bit funner. While I love VF-142, I am more inclined to go with my second favorite, VF-103 Sluggers, prior to the Jolly Rogers era folks. I like the composition of Carrier Group 6 with CVW-17 and will fit the Saratoga timeline for the F-14B and it's scenario. If there is anyone else interested, hit me up and we can get the ball rolling barring any conflicting interests or prior claims. I know there is an F-18 group using VFA-103 Jolly Rogers, but I was unable to find a link on their web page to send them a message and discuss it. They are far enough separated to me to not be much of an issue I think. Thanks. <Salute> Punk

22. Anything will be greatly appreciated sir. <Salute>
23. My best guess is it is a low priority for them, so two weeks? :smilewink:
24. Dropbox, that is what I was trying to remember. They offer file sharing, I think it's free, though I never uploaded anything, only downloaded so far. Best of luck!
25. They did show some renderings of it in this post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=140017
