Saab SK-60 Trainer
Phantom_Mark replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Is there a control file modification I can do maybe that will enable stick pressure on the joystick axis ? there is no weight in the flight stick when using a FFB device - ie the default weight on the controls even if FFB is setup fully ? -

Thank you for this mod Will have a spin shortly hopefully -
Rhino, but I am hoping the developers and ED will embrace some core upgrades with a gentle push from the community IMO it would probably make a ton of sense for ED to build some core stuff like I listed and offer those fx as default core features, then the dev teams could go in and tailor the core values to suit their content........ideal world

Dang, that thing hauls up To be fair was landing completely clean, but still......

The abilities and agility of the Nook always defies believe and out performs casual expectations, seems some amazing display pilots over the years, be very cool to see this in DCS for sure

I will have a quick refresher later, not flown it for a while, too many awesome planes to fly to keep on top of them all

already reported Sniper BTR80/82's ??
Phantom_Mark replied to Phantom_Mark's topic in Ground AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Just on "average" , I overflew and turned out and they lead that with little issue, just seems at the closure rate and speed involved in this example it feels a little raw? Not worth a big deal about it, merely an observation rather than a moan tbh, as such I don't even consider this a bug - moreover something that "just is" ? Do we know if there is anything in the pipelines for the AI ground logic in the future ? in general I mean, was nice to see the updates for the AI planes, be nice to see something along those lines for the ground units as well ? -

I only call out the BTR as it highlights itself so much to me at least. I was just goofing around last night with the F15E doing some mud plugging practice, took some hits from the BTR's, as I always seem to take, but for a change I thought I would see just how good they are. Slammed it to the desk from a few miles out, burners lit, 630kn or so across the ground towards a bunch of BTR's arranged in a huddle, it was little surprise to take hits, but as I overflew they were easily leading accurate shots even at this crazy speed. Now, I have never flown at 100ft across the top of a dozen BTR's at 600+ knots to qualify if that feels ok or not, but in my gut it feels a little strong ? Is there a specific reason why the BTR's always seem more "snipery" than some other units ? -
need evidence F1 EE flight model tweaks coming?
Phantom_Mark replied to Harley Davidson's topic in DCS: Mirage F1
I never said I wasn't happy, I was informing you of new hardware, when we last talked FFB I was using a 20+yr old Microsoft Force Feedback 2 stick, I just got this new monster I haven't had a chance to fully exploit the best of what the F1 has to offer with it yet, you can be sure I will tho. -

I have the new Rhino FFB base here, 20nm iirc, whatever power it is, it is more than sufficient to rip the stick out of my hands, and/or snap my stick clean in half if it wanted to, so maybe that time is here ? -
Please don't change the brakes, nice to have an aircraft which finally feels like it has some !!

I used to have the Hog throttle, I found it was ok as long as you used curve, the mod of course is a ton better, what you are asking for doesn't seem over and above so fingers crossed they can sort something out for sure
-
Ahh right, that's a shame, any reason you choose not to use the stick on the throttle ???? (Here's me assuming you have a throttle as well now, sorry )
-
Go into Axis Tune and set a +20 curve, this will flatten out the movement to a much more steady rate, or tune that value to suit your Hog ( I am on a SuperTaurus) null

I have a cat8 ethernet into my Network Switch , and an Ethernet to USB C adapter with power, fiddly setup compared to my old quest but it does work at least, all that runs through the Virtual Desktop app on the Pico and windows. If any of those details are vague it is because its not exactly super clear to me either, I had to rely on some help on the discord group for the Pico/Virtual Desktop group.
-
Sure, I am plugged in with a hard cable direct to the PC instead of being "Wireless" and using Virtual Desktop.......which in turn attains better bitrates and higher quality. Maybe there is a better term if we want to be exacting, but hey.......sorry if that confused you for some reason.
-
I can't speak for your system but for mine the F15E is performing notably better in VR for me, smooth as silk, where the Apache occasionally gets busy. 13900k RTX4090 32gb Ram Pico 4 in PC mode at 270% in SteamVR and very high details in DCS.

Yup that works fine for some stuff, great example of pointless defaults is in the view settings however, I have 7 USB devices meaning I have to go through and selectively clear each for pointless assignments like this, so while clear cat works ok at some things it is not the optimal solution IMO - it is better than we started with tho
-
Yes, I too wish default entries for all hardware would be blank, but instead supply pre configured profiles for known popular hardware units, spend far too long deleting and searching default assignments to delete on those controllers, especially when you have a lot of devices mirroring default settings.
-
Just for reference my rudder works fine here, I did have a small problem initially, I removed the default axis binds and started fresh, if that helps at all ?

Just a quick message to ask if there is any plans to expand the Force Feedback implementation. For your consideration please...... AoA buffet - just a little shake near the limits of AoA Ground Roll & Expansion Joint Bumps Damage impact jolt Cannon "buzz" - just a light vibration in the background whilst the cannon fires Pickle - just a light jolt when weapons come off the rails Ground Impact Jolt - Wheels onto the tarmac on landing Background rumble whilst the gear or flaps travel Background effect whilst the Speedbrake is deployed Most of the effects exist in some way in other modules. Without wishing to sound like a smart alec, not interested in comments from others who want to comment on the realism of such requests, the above could be "optional" so they could be setup to deliver the experience the user wants at an individual level, especially not interested to read comments about the validity of force feedback implementation from people who don't use a FFB stick or never used a FFB stick.
