yep, on the list to join that joy as well, just praying we can get some more developers all into setting up these aircraft with the cool fx, if we could understand what holds them back maybe we can help to grease the wheels make that less painful ??? Maybe asking ED for some FFB UI Menu options to add FB into aircraft that don't have it natively or something is an option ? Honestly, and slightly ashamed, never done one lol..... One of my favourite fx is the bump of the wheels on the expansion gaps of the concrete as you taxi on paved surfaces, and the slight buffet you feel as you wind in the AoA, really helps you feel the edge of the envelope better IMO.

I just wanted to give a little kudos where it is due, the FFB implementation on the F14 is among the best and most enjoyable in the whole simulator - I own most of the content in this platform to compare. Can I ask a technical question please ?? How hard was it to implement the FFB elements ? was it fairly easy ? is it a case that other content has poor or zero FFB for lack of understanding or excessive difficulty ? I hope we continue to enjoy properly implemented FFB on other modules as we move forward, thanks again.

Ironic I moved my post from the main bug forum to the correct "controller bugs" forum and they never replied here tho right ? At least its potentially fixed now, with any luck they will get around to implementing some more FFB features soon as well, this old airframe is more than deserving, the Tomcat is a delight with its more proper and fully featured FFB implementation.

Force Feedback Spring Centre Pressure broken on both variants of the Mirage on the latest release, neither are flyable as a result now. In other words, for those who don't use a FFB and wonder what all the fuss is about, there is no longer a force which keeps the stick sprung in the centre, which means the stick flops around all over the place and unusable, the Mirage sadly has never had proper FFB implementation but this basic level of functionality is actually required for the hardware to be at all compatible with this module. Stick and FFB still works as expected on other modules in this release. Test Stick: Microsoft Force Feedback 2 F1EE release / Update 25/1/23

I posted a ton of vids previously confirming the heck out of this bug, it just hasn't been accepted as a bug, which means it can't be scheduled to be fixed, that is the deeper annoyance. Out of interest why will you test and report in the F14 sub forum, this problem is not exclusive to third party content, that is the bizarre thing, it is a problem with content made by ED as well ?

Bump, seems appropriate as its been a few years now ?

Strange to add UI interface options exclusively for content that was made more than a decade back tho right ?? Of course this isn't the intent, it is just the support hasn't been added correctly to the more expensive and more professional content, which is also strange in itself, as also with the wires, the free plane works fine, but the ones we paid good money for are not fully featured sadly.

With respect I think you miss the point of FFB, it isn't always about replicating what the "stick" alone does in the real world, it is about translating other subtle effects to the player they would otherwise feel from actually sitting in the real aircraft, the onset of buffet for example, maybe if developers took these things a little more seriously we would see advances in FFB implementation and design that we have seen comparably the last 20yrs in racing games, the difference over that 20yrs has been night and day differences for the player. If you want inspirational implementation take a look at the MB339 mod (back when it was a mod), those guys implemented FFB in a way that surpassed implementation in most of the payware.

Just a question so please don't shoot. Not flown the Mirage for ages, came back to it and many bits seem better and enjoying flying it more now, I did notice a weird wobble on the rudder, an oscillation almost, kinda like a dirty pot on a joystick, I disabled the damper in cockpit and the problem (jitter goes) but then the aircraft starts to wonder around as you would maybe expect ? IDK ? One of those things on the list, or acting as intended ? I put a 20 curve on mine to reduce the pitch sensitivity, much nicer and easier to fly, was having the same issue smashing instantly into a bad AOA.

What makes the Apache the most difficult helicopter module to fly?
Phantom_Mark replied to Schmidtfire's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Given the fact we have real Apache pilots giving feedback on this and flying it I absolutely don't have an opinion on an aircraft I never flew in RL........until then unless it is reporting an obvious bug or general feedback on how it runs on my controls or something I find it rather pointless commenting on a FM still in early access ?? maybe it's just me IDK ? -
Holy thread revivals I am doing the resistor mod now (well getting an expert to solder them for me) When you say "Add a 1ohm resistor to each of these" do you literally mean add 1ohm to the existing 1ohm resistors already in those spots, thus making the total 2ohms ?? or am I misunderstanding here , could the existing 1ohm be replaced with a 2ohm is the question in that case? thanks

What makes the Apache the most difficult helicopter module to fly?
Phantom_Mark replied to Schmidtfire's topic in DCS: AH-64D
I have that problem with the Apache, my regular worse failing is running out of rudder/yaw authority and it somehow sucking all the torque so there is none left for the main rotor, frequently ending up in a death spiral, or if I am lucky just enough time to max engines, drop the yaw, reduce collective to spin up the engine RPM again. -
What is the aircraft you would like to fly on DCS World?
Phantom_Mark replied to 6S.Duke's topic in IndiaFoxtEcho
Buccaneer Jaguar CH-47 Hawk Hunter F-111 SU-24 SU-27 SU-33 SU-34 Mig-23 Mig-27 Mig-29 NO particular order, in your own time. My main interest is in the cold war stuff tbh. -
You have one already ??? I only became aware of that stick last night after seemingly years of watching the various ffb homebrew threads, it is firmly on my buy list if possible, and the price is not stupendous !

If you are judging the hardware based on MS Combat Flight Sim there is your problem Rudel That game was pretty junky even back then. Modern implementation is excellent when it is done correctly, even if the stick has its limitations The urge to add cheesy canned fx can be high, however when it is done correctly it adds a ton of fidelity to the flight model, the F14 in particular is nice, you can ride the edge of AoA and buffet purely on feel through your hands, the MB339 mod was also a stand out for implementation, that one had the flight stick fairly limp at low speed with little resistance, as your speed went up and airflow increased over the surfaces the stick got progressively more weighty, again making you feel massively more in control of the aircraft and in touch with the flight model.. MSCFS had the most cheesy and crude canned crap implementation ever, no surprises. Don't even get me started on the benefit of flying the choppers or the aircraft with offset FFB trim ........feels perfect.

I hope all developers ignore this way of thinking, that way when someone in the hardware industry wakes up and smells the roses all the aircraft will immediately be compatible with our archaic, and new gen hardware I wish those who have not flown with one could experience them so they understand why we keep asking for these features to be applied to the flight models. One day someone will come with some serious hardware, and one day someone will clean up the market if they play their cards right.
