  1. Art-J, you are right on this, my initial joy is a bit dampened. For now I see it as a workaround to make taxiing more realistic if you can abdicate the runup. I'll see if I can find more information on how to tune the parameters.
  2. Hi guys, inspired by this video ( ) I played a bit with the parameters of FMOptions.lua . Now the required amount of thrust for getting it to move is about 950 RPM and the brakes are a bit less effective. So if you taxi often but don't do a runup, this may be for you. If you want to try it, then place the file into \DCS World\Mods\aircraft\TF-51D\FM and do a backup of the old file. I'd like to smoothen out the rudder effectiveness on ground, in order not to overcontrol the Mustang. Does anyone know how this is done? Is there a developer manual describing the parameters? I am also not too happy with the brakes, while they seem to be more realistic in braking (no more nose-overs), they are unable to hold during the runup at 2300 RPM. Hm. FMOptions.lua
  3. I put them in a zip and removed the "images"-folder. Thanks for looking into it! Olli scripts.zip
  4. Is anyone else having this issue? I'm new to Windows 10, I wonder if it has someting to do with the privacy settings? While I'm admin, I pretty much blocked all Win10 privacy settings. Couldn't find one for saved games, though. Thank you.
  5. Okay, I downloaded the export file from your page and overwrote the files into C:\Users\frumpy\Saved Games\DCS\scripts. Still, no luck, the panel displays, but the gauges do not change. DCS 2.5.5 with Win10. What else can I try?
  6. Hi there, I apologize for making an own thread. The forum is quite full, hard to find what I am looking for. I installed Helios and the TF-51 profile according to Captn Zeens installation video on youtube. I can get the panel to run. Installed the script folder in users/.../dcs. Still, there is no connection between DCS and the panel, it's just showing default values. I wonder, where can I go from here?
  8. I just tried again an hour ago "DCS_Updater.exe update 1.5.7" and it worked, no more automatic login and all modules work. I'll save this version for later and hope for the best.
  9. In this case the licenses are valid for 3 days - then require again a log in.
  10. No, I tried and wrote to support - this is not supported anymore.
  11. Hi there, with the most recent updates my computer is forced to log on to the ED servers every time I am starting the sim. I want to use the sim offline and pull the LAN-cable (I am willing not to update the sim any more). I've got a 1.5.2 copy, but it does not support the MiG-15 and Mirage where I bought a license. I am looking for a pre-online-copy like 1.5.7 (you can delete the aircraft in it) to share. If anyone is interested in 1.5.2 just contact me. Thanks.
  12. @QuiGon I don't care if this is pretty common or not. This is not the standard to measure things. To put it short, I don't like my software or my computer to be a testbed. I am here for flightsimming, not for risking getting my data exposed by some new hidden function in an update. I don't want my computer to be a big data machine, I don't need a "smart" flightsim. I mean just look at the ongoing Kaspersky discussion. The thing is - in Germany it is legal to sell used software licenses. If I don't use the software any more, I can sell the key. Every software. Plane addons too. That's the law. But Eagle Dynamics does not support this, they simply blacklist the key and thats it. So I am forced to get exposed to things I reject - or drop my licences which cost me quite some money. I wrote support about this. I am hoping to find some solution for this.
  13. Yes, call a russian server and get new unwated functions with updates. I wonder if this is legal according to EU law. Honestly, I read a few posts... am I the only one to have second thoughts on this?
  14. This is for the Harrier. I've got older modules, like the MiG-21. I mean Facebook and Google know my show size, I am paying with my personal data to get a free service. With the modules I bought (quite a few) I paid already, so no internet connection needed (well, maybe every 6 months to see if I am still alive). Honestly, that's not cool. I've got little control of the usage of my personal data - ED can easily install an update and force me to send data which is none of EDs business. Talking about big data. I'm just a regular flight simmer with love for flying and simming, but this policy change renders all my modules inoperable if I don't agree to log on - right?
  15. Playing offline Hi, I'm using the most recent DCS 1.5.7 version. I'd like to run the computer off the internet, no updates needed. Now DCS logs on to the server every time I start it. In past versions I could disable it, but now a pulled cable will result in a "you can play for 2 days" message. I've seen how DCS can report technical reports to the server, lots of personal info on the data off my harddrive - not sure why this is in there. Anyway, I tried to revert to an older version of DCS, but no luck - not online anymore. How can I go offline?
  16. I was wondering the same. I don't understand this bonus system. I guess it's prudent to wait for 50% off (real money) to get FC3. Perhaps in the week after xmas? :)
  17. I'd like to see civilian aircraft in DCS too. I am not into dropping bombs or shooting at things, but I love flying and flight simulation. DCS has some excellent flight dynamics and I'd love to see a Bonanza or some small jet in it.
  18. I saw a crashed Tu-22 video too, supposely at Zapad. Looked like it overshot the runway.
  19. I did not read all posts in this thread... still I dare to ask! :D Will a civilian/trainer version available too? I'm not too much into military stuff.
  20. Ehm... where is the link?
  21. Good to know, thanks.
  22. Pitot heat is rather for airspeed measurement, not altitude. :)
  23. I experienced the same issue.
  24. Police mode should light up the police light on the left side, shouldn't it? I don't see no light.
