Airshow Smoke staying forever when turned on on the ground.
PanicMan15 replied to PanicMan15's topic in General Bugs
Thank you for the reply! -
It would be nice to see the LERX Vapor for the Hornet and F-16 transmitted to other users. Is there any reason why this is not a feature? We have the overwing vapor already but it would be nice to have the LERX Vapor.

Well... That's not the case lol. You can't do any damage with Lua files. -

You can have the mod lol. It just allows people to not copy and paste our code into their own planes and call it their own. -

This is supposed to be like this. This is an encryption we added for security measures. -
F-22A Raptor mod enhancement mod

Hello I am one of the Developers on the F-22. For the pitch axis, make sure you bind your axis to the correct designated F-22 Pitch axis. Please read the entire setup on the website. It is required you setup some stuff before flying the aircraft. The FCS that was modeled uses a new pitch axis so that we can modify it. -
Is there any update on the texture template release for the JF-17?

This is going to be a mini rant about the updates that need to be done to the hornet that are very critical, that are simply just not being done... I am sick of sitting here and taking my time to meticulously write out a good report about a bug I have found, that is very noticeable might I add, to it just being swept under the carpet. For example. I made a post on 9/23/2019 about a piece of the flap on the hornet not animated and causes it to stick out when flaps are down. It's a lod issue. I even told them how to fix it. IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. SERIOUSLY?! That's not even the worst of it. Remember the reverse ground effect (the thing that pulls you into the ground if you get too close)? Yeah that still exist and it has been an issue since release in 2018. Like come on now. Another issue is when you try to takeoff with the flaps up, your aircraft will constantly pull nose up forever, until you go to half flap then back to full (I will be making a report soon about this). There is another bug that I have observed that is critical but I am still working to debug it so I won't post about it. But like for god's sake ED. Please fix this stuff. I absolutely love the sim and love flying in it because it is the most realistic sim out there. But it's hard when there is no progress of the bugs being fix. Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope this doesn't get swept under the carpet too.

Can a ED staff member reply with a link to where this was reported? We want to make sure this is the same issue and that we have a clear understanding of what is happening. We want to be able to provide the information but there was no followup from a team member. We just want to be sure this has been reported properly before. Thanks.

INTRODUCTION: For several months now DCS net code has been an issue. Whether it be combat or aerobatic flying. There is a trend where the person that you are flying with, tends to not be accurate to what the user on the other end is seeing / doing. For us aerobatic pilots in the community. It never used to be this bad as it's gotten over the past month. To explain what is happening seems to be an issue with the system that is implemented to help "smooth" out the movements of users over the internet. However, that system has since become flawed and exaggerated that dampening. It is now becoming apparent that under G load. To put it into terms so there is an understanding. When I say USER, I am referring to the person that is witnessing the event. Usually the person that is watching their own track back. When I refer to the CLIENT, I am talking about the person that is being witnessed and is having the issues. So to continue, under G load, the USER witnesses the CLIENTS aircraft move vertically down and forward. This becomes very apparent under loops. We are not to sure if airspeed has a factor but we have tried this with the F/A-18C, L-39C and YAK-52. All at airspeeds ranging from 100 knots to 350 knots. Progressing as to what we know. We know that this started in 2.5.5 and has been exacerbated in 2.5.6. We also know this is an effect of net code. We have thought it could be internet but after multiple test and multiple flights with perfect internet from users and poor internet from users. It seems to happen every time. EVIDENCE: These two tracks are from the date 8/2/2020. It is 2 L-39C flying formation. The reference for formation that is being used is the pitot tube on the wing. Stabbing the pilot in the back of his head. You should see in the USER track, that the CLIENT is flying forward and down. DCS Aerobatic Community being affected by latest update.

We don't know what's going on exactly or what's causing it. All we know is our mods are breaking the modules. We are investigating. -
DCS Aerobatic Community being affected by latest update.
PanicMan15 replied to PanicMan15's topic in DCS Modding
"...but this doesn't seem to be the same attitude ED has towards the modding community." He said this no where in his post. DCS is not obligated to make mods compatible with DCS. I made this post to simply say "Hey, the aerobatics community has been affected big time." Also let's have a respectful conversation and not point fingers. We are here to figure out what we can do to make both sides happy. -

DCS Aerobatic Community being affected by latest update.

Here is an active poll on who is being affected in the Aerobatic Community https://www.strawpoll.me/20117328/r -
Hello. I am creating this post as a discussion of the latest DCS World update. In case you are reading this and don't know what is going on, pretty much all DCS user mods that include some sort of custom weapon or custom model, has broken. This is a big deal for the Aerobatics community because most of the teams use modified versions of a module. We are here to simply understand what is happening and why DCS has restricted the use of mods. To understand why the DCS mods no longer work, we need to understand what is causing them to not work. Doing some testing with various community mods that are free. Me and a couple other people have determined that DCS world is either using 1 of 2 things. 1 being the DCS manifest is looking for any sort of file size change in the desired file. 2 being that the manifest is looking for any sort of change within the file using MD5 or something of the sorts. This is just a speculation and educated guess on what's happening but it seems to fit the best. Doing our test if we even put a single space in the lua file we are trying to edit, it would cause the F-18C for example, to turn into a A-10. Going into why this affects the Aerobatic community, Most teams now a days have some sort of custom touch added to their module or have a custom model added to make the team realistic (Virtual Aeroshell Aerobatic Team and Virtual Patrouille Suisse). Then you have your casual DCS Aerobatic players that enjoy the realism and put months of work into a mod to make it realistic and functional (DCS Blue Angels Equipment). With the new DCS update, it changes all of that. It takes all of that time and effort put into mods and throws it all away. Now to be clear, none of these mods are destructive and take away from DCS sales in any way. You are still required to have the modules purchased and install to make them work. Now comes for the understanding. The Aerobatic community wants to understand why DCS has done these changes and have a productive conversation on how to make both sides happy. Integrity check is in place for a reason so we are trying to understand the need for locking down mods. There is a reason we use DCS over any other flight sim out there. What will happen is either Aerobatic users will just stay on old versions or they will leave the community entirely which we want to avoid, but we will do what's necessary to put on good shows. We want to help DCS out and be on their side but to be honest. Doing this kind of stuff without any reasoning behind it pushes people away. None of us want that. We just want to have the most realistic flight sim experience possible and enjoy doing what we do. In summary we hopefully want to get some sort of understanding and come to a decision with DCS World. If any DCS representatives want to explain or have questions feel free to post on this thread. That is why it's created.

Is there plans in the near future to upgrade the looks of the afterburners? After binge watching demo videos of F-18s and F-15s the ones in DCS don't seem to have the glow.

This has been an ongoing issue since the hornet came out and it is the same with the F-16. The LERX Vapor is only a clientside thing as of right now. I am aware it only works on airstart but no one can see my LERX vapor. Only I can. I am genuinely curious when that is going to be fixed. It has been well over a year now since this issue started and I have been told by ED that this will be fixed eventually. My question now? WHEN. It is low priority but I am curious.

Hello, flying a mission tonight with a friend he pointed out to me that a piece of the left flap, at distance, has a missing/floating piece to it. I have seen it before and went to confirm it in model viewer. I went into fa-18c_lod2.edm and found out the issue pretty quickly. Once I put the flaps down I noticed that the left flap, where the aircraft numbers are located, was not attached to the wing. It had separated. Here are the screenshots I took of it. Should be a simple 3ds max file fix.

Idk how else to express I have talked to Blue Angel personnel about this issue. What else do you need from me to prove it is legit? Even in this video you can see them do the BIT test beforehand and then do the flight control wipe. Full deflection, flaps down. Another issues to address is the time it takes for the ailerons to move when transitioning flap settings compared to the flaps. -

PanicMan15 replied to bkthunder's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello Nineline, Thank you for taking the time to look into it. Now I still don't believe that is true. After watching multiple F-18 demos and talking with some Blue Angels personnel about this. The Blue Angels do not perform a bit test when starting a demo. It is all done earlier in the day during morning turns. When the Blue Angels do their FCS wipe they do it in AUTO, HALF and FULL flap configs. They swipe the controls 2-3 times full deflection which you can see in the video I posted. I will post another video confirming this. He talks about full deflection for a maneuver in depth here and demonstrates. I hope this gets looked into. Thanks Nineline again for taking the time. -

Thank you ace. This makes much more sense on how the system works. Now that we have the debate over about how the system works, we need to establish that EDs hornet is not accurate when it comes to the hydraulic system. I am not convinced that the hornets hydraulic system is not accurately modeled. If you play look at the flaps vs aileron speed in my DCS video vs the blue angels video, the dcs hornets moves too fast it seems.
