  1. "who actually uses aerial refueling?" you would be surprised, look on the TFP, VA and Dedicated flight and also the reason fewer people do it is because A they either lack the skill, want a fuller fidelity aircraft or simply are not interested, Currently the Mirage and the A-10 are the only non fc3 aircraft that can air to air refuel, someone may not want to fly the mirage, the more aircraft with probes that get added the more the aerial refuelling will get used more so then it already is. I love aerial refuelling and I only fly with a joystick and no rudder or track IR as many people do the same already so the "super sim missions" is a less valid point. As for the code I get what you mean and I suppose it may be worth adding it as a separate version as that would make more sense because rearm menus are hard to deal with anyway and i think dcs would not support such a system. For texturing i've seen single man operations texture fairly quickly depending on available time and jobs ect. The damage should just stay the same unless there is a bug because lets be honest it would not be a smart idea trying to refuel from another aircraft with a wingtip missing and an engine out. As for the AGM 65 that would also mean additional code and texturing and the likely hood of the E-3 version even using them is low as there is not a lot of information around however the fact that they would be willing to try it shows their passion (as does making the module in the first placeP.
  2. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Chile_Air_Force_Northrop_F-5E_Tigre_III_Lofting-3.jpg Don't know what to make of that. https://cdn.defesaaereanaval.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/F-5M-FAB.jpg Is an F-5EM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_F-5#/media/File:Chile_Air_Force_Northrop_F-5E_Tigre_III_Lofting-1.jpg Just says F5E III so technically the Tiger 3 by designation. Chillian A/F bought them with the probes under Tigre III and the Canadians produced them with probes under CF-5, At the end of the day its the same air frame but with a probe bolted on and i think that because the MIG 21 has the speed advantage especially against when the F5E has external stores as well as the fact it can carry an extra 2 missiles of the short and medium range types that were not even put on until later, i then believe that if we don't get aim 120s then we should get the probe to even them up a little. Also as for the AGM 65 I cannot see how a single seat aircraft with no mfcd or type of pod at all could utilise such a weapon on its own unless you just fire and forget and then let it track the nearest object (i'm sure the sight would be used but information is scarce at best) now by that logic a two seater would be able to use it however its technically a different designation and so then by this reasoning the F5E should not get mavericks either.
  3. After taking a T80 cannon shell having an engine shut down from a fuel leak in seconds and landing on one engine :P http://imgur.com/a/pccrH
  4. I dunno, I'm stuck between it, on one hand it may reduce the amount of wrecks on runways on the other that's only if used correctly.
  5. With the F-5E being added it has a tail hook for emergancy landings, I'm just wondering if there is a system already in game so that we can utilise it on the F5E or other upcoming aircraft if not than it's definitely in my wishlist.
  6. Seems like when the F5E gets hit even once the fuel leaks out within seconds not sure if accurate but it seems like it wouldn't be, no matter where i get hit 9 times out of 10 the fuel just disappears. other one was i got hit on the left wingtip and somehow got right fuselage damage and further leaks. (lost the footage of that) What's made even stranger is in the video you notice that the left elevator was shot off however it was the right fuel tank that emptied weather that's relevant i don't know as i took damage to the other side but still strange as you would think a shell exploding on one side would not damage the other as well as the fact one might expect it to empty the left tank. 7. I feel like we're missing out without having the option to air to air refuel, i feel like because it has to cruise at much lower speed than most over aircraft to conserve fuel that it would be great to have the option to refuel especially if your doing a bombing run far away and need to refuel without any available airfields nearby.
  8. Oxygen also does not get refilled when re-arming, mirrors the Mig21 though.
  9. I see pictures like this and I wish we could do this.
  10. You will see in some pictures that the F5E Tiger II has a probe for air to air refuelling yet others did not so I did some digging and found out it was an optional addition so it begs the question, will the fuel probe be added if not on the default model then as an addon in the rearm section?
  11. So I was wondering how in the hell I am able to drop the GBU-12 in the Mirage, I understand a laze is needed by either JTAC or an A-10 and so I want to know both how to get both modes working as well as how to actually drop the bomb (everything that needs to be set up in the plane for a drop)
  12. So the manual indicates that the green arc is for normal operating temperature however Yo-Yo says its where icing is possible, which is it? In the instance of -50oC temp is it even possible for a carb to operate in that temperature? EDIT: In the manual it mentions that anything in green is marked as safe or normal operating temperature so I still don't understand how the carb can read -50oC and still operate, surely the butterfly valve would freeze?
  13. Jets experience icing at 28000 - 38000 feet and i was at the same in the Mustang, hmm i don't know though, what you said does and does not make sense, the carburetor would be warm i imagine so surely the cold air hitting heat would heat up and form water droplets that could then cool around the carb.
  14. Pitot tube icing and failure is definitely modeled as you see it in the failure list however i believe icing does not show, surely because of the height the temperature would be below freezing and the air hitting the carb would cool it down and start icing when it comes into contact with nearby heat?
  15. I just wanted to ask if there is Icing in DCS 1.5 for the P51D specifically with the carburetor as I just noticed that on multiple occasions the Carb heat gauge on the P51D has read negative 50oC and at that temp it should stop the engine from working, this happens between 15 and 40k feet no matter what i have the Carb cold and hot air controls at, I also noticed that the P51D and Mig 21 Do not get canopy icing. I have tested this at different heights and air temperatures to about negative 20 degrees. The only time i had a noticeable issue with the aircraft that may relate to the carburetor is after i came out from a dive from 40k Feet into snow when the temp was negative 20. I also checked the after crash report where the failures are to see no carburetor failures or issues. So is Icing apart of the game? If so, what areas or aircraft?

  17. So I decided to fly the Mustang from Beslan to Anapa in an Aerobatics free flight server I got to 25k FT and then realized my carburetor heat gauge was at negative 50oC which I knew was wrong as it is used to set fuel alight with hot air and it would be fine if i had planned ahead (of course i didn't) but i was only flying off bearing 270 and i was more then 150nm away from Beslan and Anapa so I ended up jamming my throttle at max with reduced rpm (2700) to control manifold pressure and used the height for coolant and oil temperature control and also so that should the engine cut out i would have time to look for a suitable place to land . I managed to land it in crosswind at Anapa but i didn't think i'd make it.
  18. It's 1.5, they no longer have installers which is why i'm asking
  19. Recently brought the P-51 and F-86 Sabre for install in DCS 1.5, the Sabre installed fine but the mustang will not install, the module manager saw it when i had just brought it but only installed the Sabre and now i can't find the way to install it.
  20. Welcome comrade ;), i have to agree with you, i flew fsx for a long time, it was good for commercial flights but lacked military things such as firing at other aircraft. My first plane brought for DCS was the MIG-21Bis and the MIG 15Bis both of which i have fell in love with and enjoy every second flying, would recommend them if you have someone to fly with or against, the flight models are superb - glorious even and i highly enjoy the tense dogfights against other players while in those aircraft. :) The first picture was me surviving a strike from an A-10C and the second is me getting the MIG-21 to 71k Feet :)
  21. I like a lot! that movie is hot, dayum hot
  22. As great as a T-6 Texan would be (the 40s one which i have flown) it has no weapons so would kind of be pointless unless cheap
  23. Just wondering if we'll ever see the Mig 15 that was delivered to the USAF base by the Korean, i ask because i would genuinely be interested in have a westernised Mig cockpit with the G meter and altimeter in feet as well as the US paint.
  24. Did that however now i have the issue that i cannot contact ground crew or atc on the ground in the Mig 15 and 21 however in the air i can get atc. Edit: Could be a general 1.5 issue however that being said i did not have the communications issue yesterday.
