Saitek X52 Pro SST Programming Software
retired_old_sarge replied to retired_old_sarge's topic in General Bugs
I got it figured out.. I don't see the controls listed in DCS but they are being used but threw the SST as the pro file instead of having to use as a LUA file... Thank You... I got it now... maybe I am doing it wrong but if I open the SST profiler and open it in a file there and then it shows up on the profiler I open DCS and its not showing but I clear things there and it works... I think that's the way I did it anyway.... Thank You -
Saitek X52 Pro SST Programming Software
retired_old_sarge replied to retired_old_sarge's topic in General Bugs
Thank You MadDog.. I downloaded and unzipped, put them in the folder you said they go in. I do have the icon on my task bar, when I r click it I do see the profiles listed, under them I see clear profile, clear start up, profile editor, and control panel. That's where I get ost. I opened and started DCS, went to my Controls selected the Huey sim for example, cleared the category under my joy stick there,,, But Then I cant get anything right, I do hold the I key down the light on the silver hat flash's.. but there is nothing showing to move up down or right to click on anything to load it.. I think I am doing everything right but maybe just missing a step somehow. I printed your instructions and going step by step with them.. but cant seem to get it to load anything or select anything.. Thank you for the help.. -
Saitek X52 Pro SST Programming Software
retired_old_sarge replied to retired_old_sarge's topic in General Bugs
I got it working. I ended up completely doing a system restore to factory settings. Took a while but I made back up copies of all or most of the files I wanted to keep.. completely restored my computer, installed my programs, etc. Took me abut 12 hrs to do it but I now have the SST installed and working. I discovered that a couple Saitek .dll was not installed as well as the SAI3DVIEWER.dll was missing it would for some reason not install with the software plus there were a couple old old files in the sys 32 file, driver folder from a couple years ago that would not remove or delete because of locked permission.. I those were giving the impression that old version was installed but it cold not be removed by the instillation of the new software.. now I just have to study how to use the SST software and add the ones I was shared that is .pro to make a binding that will work in DCS.. I thank everyone for their assistance here and am looking forward to flying with you.. I am getting the basics down of the Huey and am finding it very much fun to fly.. especially after making a sim rack which holds a old x 52 throttle on it to use like a collector.. I have built the stand using Roger Dodger plans and really like it. I just modified it a little to allow me to be able to leave the x 52 throttle mounted and use the X52 pro throttle for planes.. along with the X52 stick for planes and got a FF2 to use for the Huey and other choppers in the future.. MadDog-IC ... I really appreciate your help and would love to check out and get your X52 Pro SST Profiles especially if you can in as much detail as time will allow you to explain to me also what I need to do with them, where/how to load them. etc.. I am actually new here now with the software and X52 setup. Again Thank you ALL for the assiatance in this. -
Saitek X52 Pro SST Programming Software
retired_old_sarge replied to retired_old_sarge's topic in General Bugs
I just went threw all the steps again tp uninstall all Saitek drivers and software. I double and triple checked, restarted checked again, even followed anothers recommendations, made sure all my USB drivers, Computer windows is up to date, checked the HID it is ok nothing showing anywhere for Saitek.. I did find a couple of OLD files in my Sys32 folder, I changed permissions and deleted them also.. did all in safe mod, rebooted checked and removed anything that was left.. went threw folders and files double checking, ran a search for Saitek, X52, X52pro, Madcatz and did not find anything.. Then rebooted again disconnected again from the internet, even turned off my virus software, and tried to run the Saitek driver installer again... I instantly got the message that it found a older version on my computer and was removing it.. nothing happened again.. Again I am running Win 7 64 bit. and all updates are current as i went down the list in the HID to verify.. I have followed step by step instructions most are the same from about 6 or 7 different places in Eds forums and even followed the ones where people say it worked for them... I have not got any to work.. I just thought. Is it possible that MSN software is stopping the Saitek software from loading.. If so how do I remove the Microsoft software so i can use Saiteks? -
Saitek X52 Pro SST Programming Software
retired_old_sarge replied to retired_old_sarge's topic in General Bugs
Thank you for the advice. I have done that following step by step numerous times and still cannot get the SST software to load. I have even followed the Saitek how to do it and still no success. I can get the Joy Stick settings to show showing my stick and throttle are connected and working but where hte big problem is.. No matter what I have tried and how many times I have went step by step in uninstalling, deleting etc. even in the software manager, and etc. I keep getting the message saying.. The following files did not selfresister or unregister: 1. C:|Program Files (X86)\Saitek\software\SAI3DVIEWER.dll The Specified module could not be found. To Continue, click OK; otherwise, Click cancel. I have clicked it both ways rechecked everything, reloaded everything and still when I try to load the SST Programming software I get the message saying a older version has been found and click to remove it and still nothing helps.. I have went over many posts searching for a solution and have also made sure my system is up to date per Logitech etc. My net frame work is up to date etc. I think the main thing is getting the SST Programming software to install and work. When I check my programming list it does show for Saiteck Programming Software on my all programs but when I click it to see the files or start it it says (empty). I have read many posts saying I need this software to be able to use all the different buttons and controls on my X52 Pro. Also I have found many profiles I would like to check and try but they are .pro files and I understand those have to be in the Saitek folder. -
I have found and read some old posts about this but I am trying to find if anyone ever got the Saitek SST Programming software for the X52 Pro to install and work? I am running Win 7 64 Bit and have not been able to get the programming software to load. I keep seeing where people are sharing their bindings for different planes but most of them are saying to install the .pro file in the Saitek folder and then the .LUA file if they have it included and I am at a total lose as to what I need to do. I am new with the X52 and really could use some help in trying to set it up to at least get it usable for the Fc lanes as well as the A10 which I purchased as well as any good or workable binding they may have for the Huey. I do have the basics down on the Huey and am using a x52 throttle as a collective. I got the plans from Rodger Dodger and made the simple sim mount that he has. I like it so far it is fitting the bill for my use. I did modify it some as to the center mount and added a mount on the left side so I can place my stick there or switch things around if needed. If possible is there anyone out there who can give a newbie a helping hand in getting some workable simple binding set up. I can follow directions if they are printed in word, excel etc. if sending the .LUA file and instructions on how to load them is a big problem... Thank You For any help you can give me. retired_old_sarge (AT) yahoo.com

I am new and I know I have tp upgrade my video card and menory to upgrade to DCS 1.5. My question is... Is the UH-1 capable of running on DCS version 1.2? I do have FC3, A-10C, F-86 which runs on it ok. I am thinking of getting the Huey and maybe a mission module for it. That is if it will run on DCS 1.2. If it will not I guess I will have to wait for a couple months and then upgrade before getting it. Thanks for whom ever answers me about this. As I have searched the threads and can not find the answer to that. Also I have the Logi 3D pro stick that I will be using for it and wonder if anyone has any recommended settings for it for me to start with.

Thank you ... I Think I can get it to work .. I am a complete newbie and I have so much to learn here... Again Thank you very much. I purchased the A-10C and also the F-86F so will be looking to see what I can also find for those. I will be upgrading my video card soon as I also purchased a couple training modules but am unable to run them right now..

3d pro extreme profile
retired_old_sarge replied to mitchthegreat's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I downloaded and saved your 3D pro files... I now have the .LUA files saved in a folder on my desk top. What do I do with them to make them usable? Do I copy paste into the DCS folder and if so where in it do I put them? and will they then show up when I open the options on DCS. I also have trackir and am trying to learn how to place files in it so I can use it on DCS. Any help is greatly appreciated.. Please Send a reply to my private box as I am still learning how to get around in the forums... They are not very new user friendly when it comes to finding things. IE I was invited to join a few sites to learn to fly with them and now I cannot find the post where they had their site name and www address...when they me... LOL... -
I just got lucky and sold the one I got last month for the same I gave for it. It was just to complicated for a newbie like me to be able to use and remember the settings on it. also sense it wasnt a twist rudder I really just didnt like it. I will be going back to my extreme 3D pro which I actually found easier to use and fly with. Also thee was the fact that the Warthog was just to much for a old newbie user like me to try to find out what needed to be on it and to remember what all was on it.. I am not a real pilot like most or many here seem to be. I just need something good enough to ply with and not be serious about being a actual simulator pilot but more like a novice player to pass some time playing.

Like I say I am a newbie and need whatever help you can give me. I know the Warthog comes already set for use ion the A-10C but that is another learning curve for me.. Thank You , .. Announcement - new A-10C DLC training campaign
retired_old_sarge replied to baltic_dragon's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Just wondering how it is coming along.. And wouldn't it make a little more sense sense it is TRAINING that you have complete newbies test it out instead of someone who is already flying the A10? Also it is interactive so one can learn by watching and by doing both or is it like many of the so called training and just a video to watch and try to remember what does what then close it and try to go remember what you just watched. Also Hoping you do not try to add to much info to fast and cram to much into it... Take it slow and make more is much better for us newbies then trying to completely learn all about a complete system at once... Baby Steps lead to great leaps. also... why cant you make it comparable back with version 1.2 as I have read over and over they are still having many problems with 1.5 and also 2. and still have not worked things out as well as 1.2 was working. Just wondering as a new user also why is it that most people who do not need the basic training that new players need are the ones to do the testing... of course they are going to find things much easier because they already know and not trying to learn something new? -

Maybe I am missing some files... all I have ii sthese folders and I have no idea how to install anything that is shared such as missions, joy stick profiles for the planes I have etc. The file I have is C;/users/main office/ saved games/ DCS and in DCS I have Config ImagesShop, Logs, Mission Editor, MOVIES AND Tracks. My question is... If I download for example a .miz file what do I do with it. How and where do I put it? I was told to just change the .miz to .exe Why and I did try that on a couple and all I got was a message saying it was not compaptble?? If I download say a Hotas Warthog profile made for a F-15.. where do i put it and how do I install it.. What and where does a .miz file go and how do I install it.. Where and what do i do with a LUA file etc. I have been trying to find just a good list of the file types used and where they go in the DCS folders how to make them usable... It seems like to more I try to find information on it the more I find different stuff and not the exact basics of it. I do not need to know how to make a .LUA file, how to program it and notepad+++ info etc.. which seems to be what a lot want to start talking bout. I have searched and read so many different things on them I am more and more confused with DCS.. I know the A10C was made years ago so why is it there seems to be no training missions for it... Why isnt there any decent tutorials on it to try to learn at least the basics of it here... A person can only watch so many youttubes about it... How about a hands on tutorial using the warthog controller with the factory settings...

Training tutorials Thanks to you both. I think I found my problem. I have to upgrade my video card.. I am having to use version 1.2 as when I tried to upgrade to 1.5 I could not get it to open and had to revert back. I will be upgrading it the first of Jan. 2017 as then my budget allows it. Thanks for the help and input. I do have both my activation codes in my e mail from DC. I do have a question though... I can get the A 10C loading with no problem. the tutorials for it are working fine but I need something more basic then the ones that are included which work on 1.2. Is there any available that you know of of something basic which I can do cold starts from as the ones in the mission etc. all all already started so I cannot practice my cold starts in any of them. Thank You for the help and input... as I say.. I will be upgrading my video card the first of the month.

I also downloaded some .miz files posted as training for the A10c but have no idea what to do wih them now.. Do I just put them in a folder or is there a way I have to load them etc.. Thank You.. I was not sure if it would come basically plug and play or if I would have to completely set it up for everything. I have been trying to work with a Extreme 3D and find trying to set it up to work even fairly well is to much of a task for me. As a beginner I am lost as to what I need to set where on it and what actually should be or needs to be set on it. If that makes any sense to you. I know pitch, yaw etc, needs to be set up but am pretty well lost after that.. I am looking forward to learning the Hotas Warthog controller as I learn the plane. Thanks for the chart and I hope to maybe fly with you someday.

First I Have searched and searched... I just purchased the A-10C and have TrackIR and I will be ordering my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS on the first of the month. Does anyone have a good set up for it that they will be willing to share. I am at a lost on how and what I will need to set up on the stick or if it comes with any presets which I may need to change. I do have Chucks DCS GUIDE By Chuck Last updated 08/08/2016. and If possible I would like to use the same settings as he has... If possible I need all the help I can get in getting this set up and running as I am new and I know it is a big learning curve, I have RTFB as some have said in other posts... but still lost and will need some help if possible.. As the name of this section said... Ask it here about the A 10C.. Thank You
