I am a bit confused here, We are talking about E3, literately half my post has been the wiki of what is E3. and all i offered was a constructive view on E3 and how E3 should be done by industry best practice. How is that OT?

Last I heard YouTube and Twitch are free platforms. DCS F/A18c is possibly the best VR game on the market, from both a looks, fidelity and functionality, and ED could have easily capitalized on that with a good trailer when YouTube is promoting E3 for the last 5 days. This to me is possibly one of the greatest missed opportunities for mass market appeal instead of ht old school booth.

Why though? It does not make any seance not to capitalize of the raised interest by E3. You guys do know that the majority of E3 consumers are online, you can easily get 100k views on an online vid during this time period Vs what 1000 ppl visiting the booth?

Thanks for the answer, even though its "vague" It is understandable at this stage. and hope to get some communications on this soon, I know for sure lots of people are worried about this specific subject. Getting back to the E3 topic, I do hope we get some quality footage, trailer and information. Its tough just watching clips provided by phone recording.

Thank you for the answer, Yes That was my prediction having a solid base line for modern aircraft is for sure the toughest part of the job. 1 Final question, and this one has been a question on my mind for years with DCS. As some one who plays exclusively PVP online. -Any hope of seeing a redfor multi role, or even DCS or FC3 redfor multi roles in the near future "by DCS standards", The Mplayer Arena in DCS is painfully lacking such a platform and with several 3PD bringing some amazing bluefor products i fear it will just get worse for online preference.

I know the hornet per say might have not taking that long but possibly the tech its needed is the bulk of the tough work. Question, Does this underlying engine rebuild means that it will shorten the development time frame for future products? or will we only see ED push out a "complex" product every 3-5 years?

I wont mind that as long as it follows 2 rules. 1. It needs to be multiplayer accessible, and it should not split between those who have and those who have nots. 2. To make the product worth it, IMO it needs to have some extra functions for those who have it, There was this mod that some one made that had basic controls over ships, ability for manual control for ships to shoot tomahawk missiles and navigate, having something like that with a decent interface will be worth the price. those who have the carrier should be able to get some sort of GCI "battle command" view thats well integrated. It Does not have to be a full sim just enough to make it an interesting product and for SP use.

well since 2015 it was reduced significantly. SJW's eliminating jobs for women like pros. There are still some but unless they are cos playing a product its a no go. Funny enough, defense expos still have tons of them.

Flanker needs its data link. Data Link for the Flanker is going to happen regardless, with the F18C Link 16, and the F14B Link 4, "I think the AV8 might have a link 16 as well" so yeah data link is not a big deal -

We all know that the standard DCS missiles are quite bad in FM terms, When the Super530 was first introduced using the basic ED FM it was possibly the worst modern Semi active. Overall All however, I think in BF we are at a point in balance where things might have an advantage over the other. What i am trying to say is that we are a point of balance where team work will give you the advantage nearly all the time and that is an amazing thing compared to any other server, where people can solo or team up as much as they want with limited effect on the overall mission. -

b/c its been going on now for nearly 6 Rounds or about a year since the M2k was added, and had no effect at all aside from the people in FC3 aircrafts sitting on the ground while the M2k does its job. how is that so hard to comprehend? -

I honestly think a system like that will be amazing, I always wished for something similar. a Simple RTS logic system will work wonders for blue flags. U get 5 factories each producing 5 things per hour, and take 1 server rotation to repair, and replenish the stocks of aircraft and high end missiles. they will be defended with light AA, but need to be hit with standard bombs as they should be behind airbases. Pretty sure a System like that is doable will balance 4th gen. BF has soo much more possible depth. But between a complex mission and performance its hard to get it all right. ED should be working on stuff like this even as a paid "mission" -

The travel times, the re-arm, the lost life are enough penalties. And comparing Flying and navigating, acquiring communications and Situational awareness equal to Something that you can do while ALT-Tabed is idiocy at its finest and a false equivalency argument also a straw-man argument. I mean you just hit the hat trick of useless logic arguments. Now see @abortman this is a logical argument, @Frostie, I am assuming here that you are saying you want 4Gen to be on airbases like Anapa only for Red and lets say Vaziani for Blue? B/c As of last BF that was the case for "Home" bases most of the time. Well I get that, used to be common practice in IL2 to have a setup like that, and it worked for maps like that. The Real Issue here is the Gap between the Mig21/F5 Vs 4th gen aircraft is soo huge, I mean if we had lets say F4E/Mig23MLD as the low end and F15/Su27 as the high then I would totally see that working. but if 4th Gen fighters are pushed all the way back, then pushing or capturing any airbase will be near impossible in "equal numbers" scenario, as the further you push the further you 4th gen aircraft will be the closer the hostiles will be. I think Adding a separate life pool was the perfect solution for the low end Aircraft, i advocated for 6 lives but 4 is workable as well. -

Sorry my English failed me there "3rd language", What i mean by that is refueling only effects very rare situations "2%", for the rest of the game play refueling is just a mundane task. More so that "FC3 and standard aircraft's" start from the back and refueling has a place when taking on fuel at forward locations. Makes sense? -
Thank you for the update, First off looking forward to this and I hope you guys pull it off. Question, and not going to hold you to it, But its been a while since the announcement and we didn't see any real progress publicly yet. Is there a Time frame you guys are aiming for finishing this product? Just to be clear not bashing or "harassing" just need a bit of a confidence boost about the project since we been burned a few times by projects simply folding for one reason or another. The Tu22m3 has some nasty weapons, the KH-15 and KH22 are both very interesting weapons, will those be modeled and if so what fidelity you are aiming for?

Yep, though I know that the Aim7M us a Mach4 missile, and IIRC the R27 as well. The FM of standard missiles in DCS, and In general weapons in DCS is showing its age, There are so many other eliminates that are missing aside from a proper FM, but G tolerance, drag, ground clutter effects and much more. The Super When it was first introduced used the same method as the standard DCS missiles and it was basically between broken and useless. The Devs tuned the missile to fit its RL envelope. -

It does not have the best missile, The R27 and AIm7m both should in theory outperform it, the Issue is that the FM of most "standard" DCS missiles is quite horrible and has been discussed in length. ED dis state that missile FM will be looked at again when they fix the explosion effects at around DCS 2.5. "Overall the entire weapon and damage modeling in DCS is showing its age, Even the Super can not escape those issues" Also the M2k has some significant issues with its radar, which wont be fixed till thew radar code base is in DCS, it can easily lose lock on targets that are under 3-4 miles. And the MagicII is simply out classed by the Aim9M in range and CM resistance and the R73 in range and maneuverability. I agree that FC3 should not have to fuel from zero, and as i said 90 to 80% will be just perfect. -

I am pretty sure, and we talked about it with in RVE. that Fuel for FC3 aircraft will have a very negligible effect. Taking an Air Base is a large task, and spawning under CAS and CAP pretty much means you will 90% get killed and IF you somehow make it and stop the assault Then you deserve the win. Its really only a limitation to that scenario and that scenario alone. Now take that scenario and putting people to sleep for refueling for 98% of the game play. Yeah its not worth using it any more as i Said 80% Fuel or 80% will put them on par with DCS grade aircraft. And thats all that is needed. And now closing an air base is easy, targets are limited. So that always needs to be the goal. and closing an Airbase is the true effective mean of stopping spawn take offs. Along with limited lives if people want to waste the limited lives on spawning under fire then thats their option.
