Yep, quite the versatile system, and its been used in Afganistan by AH64s in 2014 and in Iraq in 2016 by fixed wing aircraft "F18/AV8II". its also used on the Super Tucano "which might convince me to buy it tbh" , F18, A10c, F16, pretty much anything with a laser and can carry Hydra pods.
-
There was a quote some where that Spain wanted to go with a the penguin, but i am with you that its most possibly just a theoretical capability for the Plus. as i said never found any source or picture showing an AV8II+ with any ASM.
-
It can carry the APWKS. http://www.janes.com/article/59175/a...-usmc-harriers @Zeus67, will you guys consider it? I know its a new weapon system but it is combat operationally used "also a very simple SA laser rocket" The AV8II+ can carry the AGM84 or Penguin but it was never deployed, the capability was made for Spain, But i never seen it deployed on them as well.
-
@Zeus67, Looked at the weapon list and i got some bad news/good news. you guys are gona need to add the APKWS to that list :P. http://www.janes.com/article/59175/apkws-ii-deployed-on-usmc-harriers It was used operationally in Inherent resolve 2016. Though to be honest i dont see it to be "that hard" to implement. Hud view is in the first vid, and its a simple laser guided rocket. But we need it for reasons "Also the Super Tacano uses it" so might as well.

16.5Km from AH-1W helicopter. Possibly to get more from a harrier IIRC some where around 25km "depending on speed/alt"

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
sirscorpion replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
No one killed you from RVE side, we called on you not to shoot one of our helos. Twice, I was on GCI . I know you are a decent pilot so no use killing friendly's for spite. -
LN stated they will go with open development after the AJS37. Was expecting more the Razbam style, nearly daily screen shots of the harrier progress and Dev interaction, along with their road maps, dont think its about time lines.
-
No problem and thank you. As Mattebubben said, the "assumption" is that LN is making the mig23, Now i dont think there will be a back lash Vs LN if its not, but speculation is at all the way at 11, which usually the case when you have closed door development. Raz however did clearly show their road map for this year and their goal points only red aircraft is the mig19. On that note What happen to LNs "Open development" style they wanted to adopt? haven't heard any news in a while.
-
None of the above on the list RED Mig31/BM>Mig25>Su17M4>Su24M>Mig23MLD"yeah i know". Blue F-15E>Mirage2000-5 or -9.
-
Source on the LN comment? And only thing "available to make" that has commonality with the F14 is the F4, now will it be a J/S or an E, both have commonality in different ways. And yes people will flip their sh!t if it turns out to be not a RED plane. "not that LN is to blame" but the need for a True DCS Red fighter is way past critical.
-
I have to say I have limited interest in the mig19 and MIII, I think DCS products should solely at the moment focused on 3.5-4.5 gen aircraft and build that core well. That said, I will gladly buy them simply to support you guys, the M2000 is my go to plane in Blue flags and you guys did an amazing job supporting it. And i do that in the hope that we will see more focus on the 3.5-4.5 gen aircraft. Heck i even bought 4 copies of the m2000 for some friends. On that note Prowler, How feasible is making a Mirage 2000-5? how much added work will it need for it to be a reality? And how are things on the F15E? Last note, you guys are amazing simply the open communication you guys are going with is why i pledge to buy every product you guys push out even if i have limited interest in it. Keep up the great work.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9

I agree with this, we already jumped the shark with su27 having 20% fuel, so in the end they can still "insta take off and do damage" I would hate to see one of the only viable DCS fighters get nerfed simply for the fact that refueling is an issue. Give FC3 fighters 50~70% fuel and they will be more viable. And for mig21 and F5 if it is possible give them 8 Lives "or no live use at all" to balance the risk factor. If that was the case i will 100% use them way more. -
***DCS: AJS-37 Coming to DCS: World!***
sirscorpion replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Radar looks amazing, LN congratulations. Now ED needs to update the explosion effects to match the glory of the AJS. -
Great work thank you for the add on!

I would love an AH-1Z if not an AH-1W, then a Venom if not a CH53 if not a Ch47. zero interest in the puma

SO did some tests: Missile is rear aspect only, which is wrong its all aspect. Missile Vs aircraft, Missile max range is 5.7km while it should be 8~10km, Its maximum optimal range is 6km Vs aircraft and 4Km Vs helicopter. Missile Burn time seems to be correct but losses tons of speed after the burn "a DCS issue of super drag". Self destruct is too short, it is stated to be 14sec, but i am not sure exactly when the timer starts, looking at videos of it and some 2nd hand accounts it should start after the booster cut off, so basically a total of 20 sec "estimated" "ill need to look into this more" Edit: Some more tests, the flight model seems to be "ok by dcs standards" only issue i see is the massive drag, so either give the booster another half a sec~1 sec of life, or increase the thrust. unless you can fix the drag issue, that way it can have a good PK on 6km. missile should be able to fly to 8km easy vs a slow mover. Glaring issue is not full aspect, and detection range "should be around 6km for helo, 8 for low signature and 10km+ for burner. warhead can use some love as well "takes 3 shots to take out an aircraft"
-
Its not all aspect for me and detection range is still way under the 8-10km, barely get a lock at 3km at rear aspect only. Missile flight seems to be ok gona do some more testing.
-
on the "timer" wouldn't that generally start when pulling the trigger? Just from observing the ground based ones, and other manpads, seems that you can "soft" acquire before using the coolant. I would assume it will work like this, Acquire target visually "possibly slave it to target with optics", Pull first stage missile gets coolant "1 sec"+ gyro spin up "2 sec" + missile cover is blown"0.2 sec"> soft launch "0.5sec" > main booster for "2.5sec". I would also assume the airborne mistral pod might hold a different method of cooling, by looking at it seems to have some sort of container, "all speculation here" How the Black missile covers open up, not sure if they close after fire. Also @BAd CrC, from what I found out "talked to some dude that trained on them he didn't give details but best estimations" is that self destruct starts after main booster cut off, but according to some it starts a bit after that how much i Dont know, so the 14 sec will possibly have another 3-4 sec before it starts. I would assume an estimated 25-30 sec total in combat, the 12-14 seems to be more for training fire.

@Rlaxoxo thank you so much, Can you please please make one for the gazelle? I lose my mind every time flying such a great model with one of the worst low rez pixel dirt.
-
what else will we do between blue flags :book:
-
Is that statement confirmed by devs or something? would like a source on what ED has say on or not. Thank you in advance
-
I love this, Great work LN. and Any update, even a small one is appreciated way more than no updates. I know ED wants to do new missile performance as well for AG and AA, hope we soon get a much more immersive missiles overall. @Cobra, While the Aim54 is the jewel in the crown will the Aim-9L/M and sparrow get the same or "updated" treatment?
-
Yeah it does not have one, and i Know about the whole recoil issue, thats why the made the RMK 30 which is a recoilless classless auto canon. I am not sure if it was ever fitted or tested though. I wont mind the french or Aus version, its quite capable and got more toys on-board.
-
Great news. Hope its all aspect now haha. Thank you for your hard work and allowing us to fly with you and spiderpig, and I would also say thank you to IASGATG

Thanks for the flight and answering the questions really appreciate it gentlemen and it was a blast!
