  1. Tried everything, but only got it running under SteamVR..
  2. You have to enable the steamVR runtime in the SteamVR developer settings. Thanks, will try that also...
  3. Thanks to the DCS- and Polychop Teams. With the last update, the Mistral is working fine again. Thx a lot...
  4. Thx for your replies guys, now I'm just wondering if this here is the right place to report this obvious bug in multiplayer with the Gazelle.
  5. Yes, I have the same problem. For me it seems to be a multiplayer issue. Sometimes I got no tone even if the target is in full afterburner and rear aspect…
  6. Hi all, After flying the Gazelle on the growling sidewinder server several month with great fun, I notice now that since 3 weeks something has changed.: The IR guided Mistral is totally unreliable now. In 70% of all cases, the IR seeker delivers no locking tone (steady) even if the target is circling around you in full reheat and in perfect kill distance (1000-2000 m). I think it must be an issue within multiplayer because in single player missions that problem does not exist. Is there somebody who can confirm this? I’m a bit frustrated, cause I love the Gazelle…
  7. Thx for your reply, I will try to make a track. Yesterday again: A Tomcat circling around me low level with 250kn in 500-1000m distance and I got no tone from the Mistral.
  8. Hi, I hope I'm in the right thread here... Since the latetst update, we have a problem with flying the SA-342 Mistral online. We are very often not able to establish a lock with the IR-seaker although the target is within range. In single-player everthing is o.k. but I struggle to get the lock online. In the past that was never a problem. Anyone here with the same experience or with an explanation? We are mostly flying on the Growling Sidewinder Server. Thx for your help....
  9. Ja natürlich... Du kannst dich frei im Cockpit bewegen. Die Skalierung bzw. die Größe der Cockpits passt auch sehr gut zur Realität.
  10. I got my Rift in June and now for more as 6 month I NEVER got back to my 2D 34" widescreen with TrackIR. I'm sure that sensation of immersion will blow you away. Just my 2 cents...

  13. Met Erich today in Paderborn. Absolutely amazing how mentally fit is this guy at age 93!! And fascinating to listen to his memories...

    F-15E?

Do they have a new angled tailfin Version for the F-15?? The 4. picture in the report looks like that...
  15. Tried to make a picture of the F-15 HUD to show what you get through CV1. I failed to get a sharper image but the SDE difference compared to DK2 is huge...
  16. It's not possible to read the keyboard, there are no gaps between the rift and my face. I use the thrustmaster warthog HOTAS and move the mouse "blind"... If there are special keys which are not linked to my HOTAS I use the L1 - L6 buttons on the left side of my skiller pro keyboard. They also can be operated "blind". By the way, the optional pilot figure in the L-39 and the Huey adds a lot immersion to the flying in VR. We should have that in each model...
  17. No, not yet. I wanted to wait for the next DCS 2.0 update, where it's integrated in the setup.
  18. Hi all, I received my rift a week ago and just want to share my first impressions. It's mind-blowing! Huge improvement compared to DK2, which I was able to try one year ago. The resolution and the screen door effect is better as I expected. The so called "God rays" are now problem and for me only noticeable on the startup screen. All HUD's are readable and if you can't read a small instrument just lean in. However, the resolution of far objects is still a bit too low. Not enough for WVR dogfights in my opinion, but this is not a "show stopper" for the rift. The position tracking works perfect and is much better as my TrackIR. The field of view could be a bit better but it's is o.k. and for me no problem at all. It's like flying with ski-googles... The spacious feeling in- and outside the cockpit is fantastic. You feel the "comfort" differences between the various cockpit layouts. If you make a walk (as an ejected pilot) around the F15 you get the same view and size impression of the aircraft as in real!! This is so cool... Flying through the valleys is so much fun and for the first time in a flight sim, I had the sensation of speed and felt what it's like flying with 400knots low level. (The DR-400 I fly in real life just go to 130kn... :) ) As a demo I placed friends with the rift in the backseat of the L-39 and flew a basic acrobatic display over the airfield with them. They were overwhelmed from that immersion... :) Conclusion: This piece of hardware is a MUST for everybody who is in fligthsims. I tried also FSX, P3D and Warthunder with the rift, but DCS offers by far the best immersion of all. Just flying around is so much fun! My System: i7-6700k, GTX 970, 16GB Ram, SSD, Win10 just basic config no overclocking, HOTAS Warthog
  19. Thx for your quick replies.. :) I searched the net for a bit more data and the R-27ER is indeed much faster than the AIM-7... What I found: Type..........Start of ....................... max TAS ...................max range(hot) ...... ......operational Service ...........@ 25k ft. ...................@ 25k ft. AIM-7M .....1977 ............................1544kn ......................22NM R-27R ........1987 ............................1831kn ......................19NM R-27ER .......1990 ...........................2386kn .......................30NM AIM-120B ...1994 .............................2212kn ......................22NM So I think FLANKERATOR is right, that in an 80's scenario the "R" Version would be the more reasonable setup. I think I have to learn more of this missile avoidance stuff... :( That mission on the 104th server could be one of the best, it's unfortunately the only one with a rational plane set for Red (Russian) and Blue (NATO).
  20. Hi, I'm relatively new to BVR flightsims, but I spent "thousands of hours" in WW2 multiplayer scenarios, mostly IL2 and CoD. Since the beginning of the year I love to fly within DCS, the F-15 is the plane I'm most familiar with and I much prefer the 104th Phoenix server. I'm now able to score a few kills here and there with the AIM-120 and bring the plane back home, but there is one Misson, in which I get into difficulties. I'm talking about the AIM-7 vs. R-27 Mission. Whatever I do, I have no chance in a BVR environment with the AIM-7 against a R-27ER equipped fighter. Even if I fly 20k ft. higher with 600kn hot aspect... no chance. It feels like the R-27 must be twice as fast, as this fu... AIM-7... :( So, do I make something wrong? Do you have any tips, how to deal with that scenarios? Thx a lot for your replies...
