First of all Seassons Greedings to all. While i am new to DCS i am flying sims since 1984. While i was very impressed of the smoothness and detail of the replays i got after each mission i could not rewind the video to a previous event and so i had to rewatch the video with time acceleration to that point. I tried to have a look in the DCS dokumentation about how i can rewind the replay but i must say i did not find anything with this. Any help, input, is appreciated. :helpsmilie: Happy Flights. Did not even know there were free trackers out there for the camera. I instadownloaded the Facetrack Noir but to be honest it is working so jerky that i had to let it go. I really cannot seem to get it work right and i find it bad that there are no presets. Might be my camera position, i got a 40" 4K monitor (yes monitor) and the camera sits higher then most cameras would. This could be a cause. So far the only thing i got out from it is fear. Not sure i would spend even a cent for anything if it asks me to work only once i set values over values over values. Calibrating the suckers should be easier.

hmmm some more thoughts on this. Premade videos, simple stuff to show during loading sessions.

i use Lightwave but i see your problem since this is st i faced too. Allot of programms got a more straightforward interface with time saving procedures and good results. My programm of choice for this is Bryce. Once i started working on Lightwave i had to read ofc through nearly 5000 pages of manual but in the end the results i got are simply mindblowing for my own standards. The added complexity is worth it. Taking the easy way is a slippery path and a fun one. If fun is the goal, do as you wish. Otherwise i suggest a strong 3d design programm like 3ds, Maya or Lightwave, and at a latter stage a GPU render engine like Octane.

First off all i would say that if this by any means would mean additional income for the company hence more development funds DO IT. Plus if we get even more attention in this game it means we might get more devoted developers for modules and not only. That being said i would like to state the obvious. Flying big fat birds in predeterminated routes is not out of the scope of DCS either. I mean we could fly Tankers, AWACS, Joint Stars, Cargo planes and why not even troops and equipment. This pretty much fits in the game. Still as an afterthought though i would like to say that i would not mid DCS to be so big at some point that it might be worth to make a version of REX (Real Enviroment Extreme) for DCS. All in all i am possitive. Merry Xmass all.

HDMI 2.0 will restrict you to 30Hz. Even if you try to get over this you will end up with half of your screen being black. The only way to have the data transfer rate you need to achive 60 is display port 1.2. So if you are aiming to use it for apps it might be OK but not for any serious games. The only TV's that got display port 1.2 are some Panasonic models and some cheap chinese ones.

Some planes just sit deep in once heart. This one is for its form. The other ones are the Bf109 and Stuka my Grandpa flew with. (hangs head with shame) Would love to see a Su35 with vector thrust even if only for the flight, not fight. thanks for the heads up:thumbup:

I got for 700 euros a 40 inch 4K philips Monitor and i seriously love it. I am waiting for Ati to release the FuryX x2 that will replace the R295 X2 so i can run all games at 4K with extreme settings even for several years. I got two young kids and i need constant situation warness, otherwise i would opt for the Occulus Rift

So glad to have stired the forum a bit up. i am not a french weapon systems expert by any stretch and unfortunatly my library (my huge library) is about 5.000km far from here. You are probably right about the MICA MAGIC 2 confusion i had. And yes, the Greek versions of the Mirage2000 are rather different as far as electronics are concerned. The engine issue is still...... an issue though. When i was dreaming of a delta winged aircraft i was kinda wishing for the Viggen though. But now a question. Has any one of you took a closer look of the F16XL programm? Was that insane or what? p.s A fun fact. You know the water faucet type with one lever where you are mixing with one movement hot with cold water instead of the old two faucet system? That was originaly from a Mirage F1 regulator. A mechanic took the idea and..... the rest we all know.

i only flew the SU25 a couple of times to get the feel since i preffer to read everything and memorize it before i dive in. Since i fly sims since 1984 i set for my first free flight everything to extreme, winter, night, rain etc took it for a spin around Sotchi and noticed that the weather played a huge part in the way it affected the airplane. Vibrations was the least of my worries since sudden wind threw me out of position quiet a few times. I had to do my first landing with no visibility at all and had to rely on my Falcon flight experience to land the plane. Was not a smooth landing, i destroyed the front wheel, but not the gear, and i made it slowly to ramp. I had to opt for a hard landing though since i had to keep all flaps and wheel and all in to minimize the storm effecting my plane. in short. This Sim freaking rocks. Count me in for the years to come.

Well, here is what we know from the Hellenic Air Force. Mirage's got a very weak engine compared to other planes. At high altitudes this matters very little because the immense lift makes up for it. At lower altitudes it is not capable to use its engine to get itself out of trouble so sooner or later they will loose. On the bright side though you can use the Magic2 missiles. According to HAF it is superb and betters the amraam nine out of ten even if only for the simple reason it tracks both with radar and heat signature at the same time making a one missile kill allot easier, instead of the 2 missile need per kill witch is a common doctrine for NATO.

I hope it comes with greek colors too. Cant wait to fly it. Would rock to have the body to body refueling too.

Question Could you please share with us your impression about the occulus and DCS? And a personal question. Are you using HOTAS or can you see the keyboard somehow?

Scandinavia Scandinavia guys. Fjords, Open Ocean, Mountains, valleys, snow, rain, fog and dry seasons, plus one hell of a campaign logic as a turf for fights. If you flew EF2000 you know what i mean.

noizez n stuff First post for me. So here we go. Structure Stress sound on high G turns. Birds. Bedestrians, Ground Crew at airport. Cockpit personalisations (stickers etc) Rain puddles on rainy days in airfields. Walkabout around the plane for preflight check. Hangar/shelter startups with crew around. Pre flight briefing in briefing room, drive to hangar/plane climb in plane and vice versa for extra immersion. Wake at water surface close flights, mega wake at weapon impact at harbors, damns or ships. Canadair/Beriev planes for firefighting missions. Not all "bombing" has to be weapons. cheers
