Yes, you're kinda right. Well, using the TCS you can guide AIM-54s to the enemy aircraft. Not sure if the TCS can guide the AIM-9. So yes, it does have targeting searching capabilities, but certainly not like the Su-27 or MiG-29.

TCS(Tactical camera system), enables the F-14 crew to visually identify hostile aircrafts at ranges about 10 miles. It is also used as a EOS.

Leatherneck is creating the F-14A/B, not the D, with that being said, they are making the TCS/EOS only. The F-14A had an IRST in mid 70 years, but that was replaced by the TCS later. This may help you to understand: As you can see, under the nose there's also the ALQ-100 ECM pod.

Let they finish the F-14A/B first, then we can talk about the F-14D. In my opinion, the F-14D is not necessary, considering that we are getting the F-14A/B. Actually, I prefer the F-14B, it has a great vintage cockpit. Also would be very nice if LNS could implement the SparrowHawk HUD to the F-14B. P.S: There's no "F-14B+", just F-14A+, later in 1991 named F-14B.:thumbup:

The only effects that I really want are the over-wing vapor and new explosions. Rain in the canopy probably would dramatically drop my FPS.

I can only see myself using the F-5E to have fun flying around, but not to combat.

He probably meant the GAU-13/A, which is also the GPU-5/A Gun pod. AFAIK the GAU-12/U is only used by the Harrier.
