  1. Apologies, just found HuggyBear guidance on the cause in the section I should have posted this in (didn't realise the forum was partitioned post release). Looks like it is dual assigned axis (ie: rudder axis posted into HOTAS axis as well - jube issue basically).
  2. THANK YOU HuggyBear, this has been driving me nuts all day and appears to be the source of my problems too. (I just posted the exact same issue in the wrong forum, didn't realised they partitioned the forum on release - now time to figure out how to move/delete your own threads...).
  3. MY MAJOR PROBLEM: In 90% of cases when I start a flight with the engine running, and every time I restart a flight, the main blade flies straight off the helo. It was funny for a while watching them (well modeled!), but now I want them to stay on my helo. The game runs fine in that 10% of instances it doesn't get de-bladed on 'spawn'. CONSIDERATIONS: (1) The fact it works perfectly 10% of the time, for 'extended' periods (until I crash), indicates the add on and my configuration are fine. (2) The fact it happens immediately on spawn (before I can press a key) or not at all indicates a raw analogue input/controller setting is the cause. (3) I have checked all my keys/inputs and they seem fine (and work fine). TRIED without success: Checking all my settings (TM Warthog), varying collective on start up (0-100%), making my own missions, and flying without the primary blade a lot (again, well modeled, but it makes for a short flight). Any ideas appreciated guys, I'm sure it's my config but can't figure out what setting would cause this. This add on is A-W-E-S-O-M-E by the way, even if my issues never went away it was well worth the money. Thankyou for modeling the Bush Ranger so well Belsimtek.
  4. Meh, if they use auto start, just tell them the master warning light is the ON light (and don't mind the IF switch, it's only there just in case). Joking by the way, I am a "fly first, learn how to fly later" type of guy, thank you to the actual pilots here for striving to make DCS user friendly for us less patient types (we do appreciate it, we just always assume it's not as hard as you make it out to be... Which is why we tend to fail so spectacularly). I have every bit of sim kit you could want, yet tried to fly using mouse and keyboard for my first Huey trip this morning (without knowing what the keys were...or that the mouse wasn''t an accepted controller - still got up, around and back down in one piece too!). Point being, good call, thank you (+1)
  5. Oh God, don't let the Kiwi's fly first!!. Last time they offered me and my mates a lift I had to jump off a cliff to get in their damn helo, a million bucks worth of gear almost flattened us falling off their 'hook' (but fortunately just imploded next to us - that paperwork was fun) and another guy was caught below the skid as he went over the cliff. What did the loadie have to say after it all...? "Choice cuz...that was epic". Still, best flying (and loadie catching) ever.... Hadn't nose dived a temporary pad with bingo fuel having passed over a minute ago before that (nor ever want to again - radical recklessness).
  6. Entirely agree, quote of the year just went down range and it's only April.
  7. Just finished reading the entire thread and clicked to the product page (in hope maybe nobody realised it was already released) to see rotors just below the P51 and DCS pictures !!! Never been so sad to scroll down and see a picture of my beloved Ka-50 (instead of a Huey).
  8. It is ED approved and the installer is currently being built, so quality isn't an issue and it will be here in no time. These guys are the pro's/owners/Gods of our community, they know we want bling and will deliver (they do it for a living, they have oft stated they want to but cannot). Wait a week and I'm sure there will be lots of bling and a perfectly understandable reason provided for why they had to be so quiet (I thought the one already given was enough), and maybe even the unforeseen cause (not that it is really any of our business).
  9. Got my replacement yesterday, works a treat. Thanks Zahry!
  10. Random comment Just wanted to note how nice it is to see that an occassional minor issue with v1 of the extension has not turned into an unjustified flame war (seems the 'net norm' these days). Also, for side mounting on a chair - I just drag one of the kids chairs on either side of my chair as a mount when it's game time (ie: they in bed). As long as your actual chair will live without the armrests, the Warthog is so damn heavy and stable it should be fine on any sturdy object the right height (and the makeshift mounts pack away where ever they usually reside, so the boss doesn't get upset).
  11. And I'm in I checked the forum today just to see how you were tracking and you've already turned into a one man international factory - you don't mess around! Orders in, can't wait. Cheers Zahry.
  12. Me three, nice work Zahry. I reckon 3 inches sounds like the sweet spot. Silly question of the day: 20 deg offset? As in rotating alignment of the joystick 20deg counter/clockwise for prolonged centre line use right/left handed, OR bending of the shaft 20% of the length forward/back for positioning at correct distance from body? (I'm assuming the first, but just wanted to check).
  13. I wouldn't disagree with the conclusions drawn, but also think it is in everyone's best interests to wait until our suspicions are proven right/wrong. RAZBAM have tried to do the right thing, in the right way, so lets NOT start an 'oh I think I figured it out' discussion under their 'hey, this is NDA stuff' (ie: don't ask, don't tell) post.
  14. Waiting patiently (well trying to) It looks to me like ED have taken the only route that will keep them alive and us in the air. It may seem 'slow', but their market base dictates their staff levels and accordingly their development speed. Nice work ED, shame about the original Nevada going belly up - dare say it hurt you more than us . We obviously can't wait to buy it (especially in EDGE), but it would be nice if we could wait with due respect of the risk and work you continue to endure/apply. Before I get bashed by the impatient faction, it seems pretty apparent that the real world view from the ED seats resembles the below: STEP ONE: It makes sense for ED's number one priority to be getting everyone onto a single common framework, optimising the MP experience/customer base given the small size of our community, and more importantly allowing ED to focus their resources and knowledge against a single framework. Completed. STEP TWO: The expense of getting everyone on a single framework has to be paid for somehow, the only way to fund those devs is releasing more aircraft. That takes time, so why not get 1st, 2nd and 3rd party devs to do that (shared risk, shared profit). First delivery phase almost complete (Huey, and of course the buy-in cost to FC3). STEP THREE: Having invested all that money and built the best sim money can buy (for a very low price to us), time to actually try and make a profit after a decade of high risk investment. The best way is to make an even higher quality product, exploiting investment to date and retaining/growing the small customer base. EDGE dev well underway (for completion ASAP, but this new road will be full of walls that will take unknown periods of time to plan and code through). Good work ED  We can't wait, but it would be nice if we did so with due respect. And good luck.
  15. File attached. Again this is just a cut down version of the original CO_OP OP BACTRIA (not my work - Habu23 did a damn good job). Link to the full file and details: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89051. It can take a few minutes for people joining on you to DL the file (another reason this is only a third of the original mission). BK_Bactria_4_Hawg_Day.miz
  16. So is trying to drop a full one second burst of combat mix into the smacktard who cut into traffic in front of you not normal? Well... My court date for putting an LGB onto that truck from the overpass suddenly makes a whole lot more sense (and sorry for ejecting you at full throttle kids, it was you or me and ECM is hopeless against SA-boss-18's, no hard feelings right?).
  17. Rudder is still awesome when u r lined up for a gun run but r just a little off left or right. It will also significantly increase your turn speed (by getting u in the sweet spot) and is great for correcting inverted down and full up 180s (vertical turn to and return to target manoeuvres, which r the basics of real grunt close air support). That said, Eddie is right that u can SAS ur way out of anything (necessity may be the mother of invention, but she isn't always the Sharpest tool in the shed).
  18. Mate I would get OP BACTRIA (v2). It is the most entertaining Mission on offer. You need to be able to use LGBs to fly as Hawg flight, or JTAC for Pig and Boar flights. When we started back into A10 we moved the Hawg spawn point in the Mission Editor to an air start near the control point (waypoint 1) and set radio comms to easy. That way it was the best dynamic training mission known to man.
  19. Earth...if you zoom out it is actually round...amazed the sh*t outta me too. Jokes aside, add a screenshot and you'll get a flurry of informed answers. Soz, People are online OR in the forum (not a shot at you, just that a lot of people could have helped off the top of their head with a bit more info, but aren't going to load up to do it),
  20. Love it, nice work WELD. Been trying to plan out a cockpit I could just slide (okay heave) under my desk when not in use, but had some height and design issues I couldn't figure out. You solved all of them - THANKYOU ! TM Warthog purchased, design works on paper, leave days booked... should probably warn the misses (especially since I need her for the chair cushioning/covering and anything artistic). Hey it looks like you decreased the rearward tile of your seat half way thru (could be the piccys), any reason you went for such a heavy rearward tilt originally or (if u did) changed it? Good work mate, one of the smartest and cleanest pit builds I've seen (aka wife-approvable).
  21. Choice cuz :) W1NDY, being in NZ if you're keen to learn we run at least every three days (4 days/wk avg) from 1845-2030 AEDT (Zulu + 11 hrs). Just join a "BK..." server and we will make sure you leave better than u started if ur a beginner (we aren't pros by any stretch, more than 20hrs game time and u might end up teaching us a few tricks!).
  22. What?! Infantry don't don IR Fatigues, put cam paint on, sneak into a position over a week, dig in to stage 3, refresh local tree bits daily, talk in bastardised sign language, develop track plans for walking like a drunkard, observe radio silence (after carrying a pornstars lifetime supply of batteries) and then put LCD diamonds all over their position so aircraft can find them? I told the Lieu-y he was doing' it all wrong! So should Christmas and war be considered as entirely separate events then?
  23. In order, I wish I had done it this way: Using mission editor to make training maps Startup (gets you acquainted with cockpit layout), take off, landing (5 hours) Navigation from pre-loaded waypoints (10 mins) Gun & rocket runs (ingrain HUD use and approach types - 1 hour) CCIP bombing (map to ground appreciation-30 mins) Mavericks (finding targets outside line of sight - 1 hour) Countermeasures (30mins plus one hour for tactics) TGP to Maverick (TGP makes everything easier, only after you know what you're doing - 1 hour) CCRP bombing (love the TGP - 1 hour) Entering waypoints - 30mins Teaching others - lots Radios (outsourcing target acquisition - 1 hour) Night ops (easy as - 30mins) Making triggered missions Air to air refueling (I am stuck here, getting good at blowing up the tankers though) Formation flying (surely 2mins would cover it!) Remembering which button you made landing gear on your latest "perfect profile" setup (never) X52 pro is good value, no need for pedals (use throttle yaw), definitely get a track ir4 or higher (should be a law), good luck!
  24. Wow, now that is a mission. Well done guys, you should carve out a 3rd party Mission Developer niche. I would happily pay $5-10 for missions of this quality. Get ED to build in a centrally hosted premium MP map server, add a map download meter to the loading screen, enable dynamic scaling of difficulty/distance/options on start-up.... A win for ED in increased customer base, win for you in cash, win for players. Just sayin. Nice work.
  25. Hey guys, I have a 1GB GTX560 (18 month old tech but just got it) running on an economy system I built almost three years ago and I'm not experiencing your issue (zero fps problems ever). - 1900x1200 - 512 cockpit - High all round, but medium water and no civilian traffic Obviously no idea what your cause is, but thoroughbred Intel (+Nvidia) based systems seem to be fine.
