  1. Stupid question but did you check at the "hidden on map" box for those invisible planes?
  2. Would there a be a specific reason for me to load as few or as many Builder tools (i.e. mist, csar, etc) I can when I build my missions? I would think that the more I load (in numbers and in sizes) and the longer it will takes for the mission to be "ready". correct? Wouldn't we be better to combine them in one big thing rather than having them all separated? Which bring me to another question, Why do we have so many different tools? Couldn't it all be under the mist*.lua system?! (could be a copyright issue, I don't know). I am asking because right now, I am loading CTLD, CSAR, Mist and MOOSE and I am wondering if it is really needed as some of the feature in mist are also available in MOOSE but in a different way. Just curious.
  3. For those wondering, Komodo's website is/has been back on.; https://komodosimulations.co.uk/
  4. Isn't there a "random failure" trigger for that? :joystick:
  5. Steggles, My apology for the necropost of your thread but I was just wondering if you got anywhere with this project? (I am also looking for a gun free zone and max taxi speed scripts).
  6. Using the flag to store is my next option. I would just hope it works as intended...assuming I am not missing something here.
  7. As I do not want to necropost and don't even know if the old threads/posts are relevant to 2.5, I thought about asking here. Very straight forward question: According to the DCS manual (page 106), each goal may be assigned a point score by either using the left and right buttons or manually entering it into the field. In my example below, I set "100" for the score. Also, A Goal assigned to RED will result in the assigned points awarded to the RED side. Question: Knowing that my flag become TRUE (tested it with a displayed message), shouldn't my score be increased by 100 as soon as the flag goes TRUE ? P.S. It is not increasing according to the " ' " window. Score shows 60 and results shows 0.
  8. My bad Pikey, I misunderstood your post and thought you were talking about the Helo in the zone :( Now that I saw the light, you also get a cookie for helping me in this thread
  9. indeed, I am quickly coming to the conclusion that scripting will be my only way. As far as your example, it is a good way to do if you keep your mission small and with not too many units, which is not what I am planning :D But once again, you guys gave great ideas...I am just too dumb to build something simple LOL
  10. No can't do . That would limit the number of units being informed. Technically speaking, I want to create a "gun free zone" around specific airports so every single unit entering the zone shall display the message, regardless if there are units already in the zone. The flag might work if I can figure out a way to increase the flag value when a unit leave and increase when a unit comes in and then compare the result with the previous value. My coding skill is rusty so I am having fun with that idea right now :D
  11. You sir just made my day. For some stupid thinking of mind, I also assumed only vehicles could be considered "units" With such condition now, neither "switched condition" or "flag ON" work . Time for plan B. Thank you SUNTSAG
  12. Pikey, as I mentioned above, I tried both ways (blue unit starting in or blue unit starting out) with the same results. My trigger works if my triggerzone becomes much smaller or if I move the zone and the helo away from specific zones in NELLIS. I am still testing this. I assumed the flag option would require an extra step. Time to explore that option a bit more then.
  13. Possibly but why making it more complicated than it should? That being said, I tried at various locations around NELLIS and it does work as long as the trigger zone is not too big and at very specific locations. Simply said, it looks like there is/are specific spots around NELLIS or possibly around other airport where my trigger will not work. If I use a zone of 100, it works just fine where I have it on my image above. If I go 1000, it doesn't anymore. Weird.....I will try with the flags.
  14. The message would not show up as long as a unit is already in it. According to the manual, "part of coalition in zone" must switch from true to false or vice versa (i.e. change of state) if you want the action to occur again. So for my setup above, I tried with the helo inside the zone and exiting or outside and entering with the same bad results.
  15. I am trying to show a message every single time a player gets into a specific zone. I selected the "switched condition" trigger type. I use an helicopter for going in and out of the zone but for some reason, in never changes my condition status. Am I missing something or what? /www.airsoftevents.com/medias/images/gunfreezone.jpg
  16. Not at all, I just like efficiency. But yes Pikey, as see your point. I wasn't expecting such task/wish to be easy ;)
  17. I saw that Coxy_99 but the problem is, I have to read through 25 pages of "potential" squadron instead of just selecting the group that fit my needs and THEN, read what is available.
  18. Not so much DCS per se but more forums oriented request; It would be nice to have a forum sub-section where pilots could look at what squadrons level is available out there. For example, you could have a "casual" section, a "new pilot in the making" section or even a "super hardcore" section. Each sections would display squadron descriptions. Another example would be squadron "the 101th newbs squad". Specializing into flying the FC planes, using the auto start cheat button, etc. Then you could have the "gods squad" which could specializing into real life aerobatics, fuel calculations, weight calculations, etc. I don't know, maybe you all have better ideas but I just find it very frustrating to never know if I will be joining a server or a squad that just want to troll over the airstrip or want to do 6inch apart flying formation. There is so much to learn with DCS and there are so many great pilots out there, there must be a way to channel the know-how better.
  19. Would you mind attaching your mission to your post so we can look at it?
  20. I have been reading through this a little bit and unless I misunderstood something, the F10 menu for Helos, which include the CTLD, is not part of DCS at all but is a user script option??? Here is the script thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=143107&highlight=FARP Am I wrong?!? I am asking because I am working on the FARP feature right now :)
  21. Thank you sir.
  22. I have been experimenting with the refueling missions and while I have no problem making my tankers immortal, for some reasons, they will return to base as soon as hit/damaged. Am I missing something while using the immortal feature?
  23. Spawn is indeed, a good way to go around the problem. Thanks Moose. I will definitely try to jump on discord from now on :D
  24. Thanks to Maverick from the 104th, I now know how to set tankers inside my mission. (see video at the bottom if you want to know how). Unfortunately, I am at a stage where I would like my tanker(s) to not only return to base when they are bingo fuel but would also like them to refuel and then get back in the air for their original orbiting pattern. I searched on these forums, google and youtube without luck. I might be choosing the wrong words to search but still, no luck yet. Any of you can help? Maverick's video:
