  1. Is this still an issue? Just getting back into the F14 on the current stable release and noticed last night that I couldn't get any tone on my sidewinders when I hit seam lock. SEAM light would light up, but still the low pitched growl. Thanks!
  2. I thought he explained it well QuiGon. It's fairly simple. Hardcard had two hot bogies heading his way and Jester (or the radar) decided to target the AWACS way off in the distance. What was the bigger threat? The two bogies flying towards him at mach 1 or the far away AWAC?
  3. i'm like you. i just want to get in the air. the tools are there. like i said, Chuck's guide are easy to follow. The user made dynamic missions are awesome for training. youtube has tutorial vids galore. i have yet to read a manual for a DCS module or do a module's training missions. the forum you posted this in is a treasure trove of missions that can be customized to your liking for training.
  4. I am the same, but I still can't stand training missions. I usually open up Chuck's guide, open a youtube vid of what i'm trying to learn and then load of whatever aircraft in Through the Inferno dynamic missions. Those missions are the best way to learn an aircraft as you can customize what you want to appear in the mission. So then I watch the vid, referencing Chuck's guide if needed and then alt tab into the mission and do it myself.
  5. Hi Ataribaby. That seemed to work just fine! Thanks for your help yesterday. Another question. Do the ground units change every time I reload the mission? All the stats are correct for the air war so that is working just fine, but when I did a mission last night there was 4 SA-8’s in one area and then when I reloaded it later on it was a few Shilkas in the same spot. Just want to make I didn’t mess something up. Thanks!

  7. thanks sir! i suppose, just to test, if I kept the same group name and just changed the aircraft type in the template mission file, i wouldn't need to update any OOB files? like if I wanted to use the F14 and just switched the F5 for the F14 in group 'F-5E-3/Flight 1 TR' without changing the group name? If it worked, then i'd do the OOB thing.

  9. Once again this is very well done Ataribaby. Would it break anything to swap out an aircraft with another? Like if I wanted to fly something in place of the F-5E? or would that break some scripting, etc?
  10. Hey all. Been doing some anti-ship stuff in the JF-17 but noticed that some ships, while i can target and destroy them, when you read the AAR or if you watch the replay, they don't really exist. no big deal, just curious. i remember reading somewhere that ships and buildings are complex compared to vehicles. great mission!

  12. Very cool mission. I am enjoying it. Few questions. I’ve loaded the mission 3-4 times but still on stage one. What exactly are the stages? Is there new objectives each stage? Also, how many losses can you take? The war is not going well so far and we’ve lost more fighters then Abkhazia. I know we have to destroy 30 fighters to cripple their Air Force, was curious if we take 30 losses or something if we lose. Thanks again!

  14. Hi Mith. I just play on final version since I don't do multiplayer. Yes the issue is with both loading the mission in editor and trying to play it. One thing to check is that I had the same problem with TTI, but I think this fixed it as ever since then I can play it; Caucasus: - Fixed a major issue where a WWII Asset Pack unit was accidentally placed on the map, making the map un-playable and un-editable for those who do not own the WWII Asset Pack DLC.
  15. thanks Mith. I'll try that. Odd thing is i can load all the previous versions fine. Just loaded 2.1.2 fine, but 2.1.3 won't. Not a big deal as 2.1.2 is good times :) Thanks again!
  16. hello sir. i can't seem to load this version. keeps locking up at 'Terrain Graphics Init: 97, caucasus.ng5' only started with the most recent mission. Wondering if it has something to do with Supercarrier (which i dont' have). any ideas? thanks! :)

  18. thanks! good to know! yup, mission is all setup. already pretty deep into it, but starting to push up the coast and the ships are becoming a nuisance. i only fly the F14 and have been practicing my SEAD technique using the decoys and then hitting the deck and using snake eyes on the target as they launch SAM's at the decoys. Haven't tried it on a ship yet, but I have heard it works. :)
  19. hello good sir. quick question. if you destroy ships, are they removed from future plays, just like ground units? those two Russian ships off the coast like to fire SAM's at me so figured i'd take them out tonight, but for some reason i remember you saying that they won't stay dead. Thanks!
  20. Hi Surrexen Quick question. I want to kinda make your wonderful mission more 'cold war' for my own personal use flying older aircraft. Is there a way for me to do this without breaking the mission? My first thought is just to change all the 'modern' aircraft to 'cold war' ones as I was thinking actually deleting the modern aircraft from the red fighters on the map might break something. Thanks!
