Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma - A Late Cold War Badass
FlyingFighter511 replied to pappachuck's topic in Military and Aviation
Hello there, I too would be very enjoyed to have an AS332 in DCS. As it's called in the french army, the Cougar is twin engine 11Tons class cargo helicopter. nowadays only New Gen version are used by the army the older version as we call it Old Gen were all retrofited to new standard that match a big percentages of the new avionics used by his more recent brother the Caracal (EC725/H225M). I'll be happy to discuss with everyone who want to get involveld in such a project, as having served as an avionics tech for years on those Super Puma family helicopters. -

Behind this collective project I'm as well trying to solve this cyclic problem. Before my TM warthog that I didn't like that much and now my virpil, I had the logitech G940 Flight System using FFB. It was the best stick I had to use for helicopter + trimmming your jet and having your stick moving by itself is just awesome. But this system is old, and had some problems due to FFB driven by motors. That's why I'm now trying to develop a magnetic held stick, just like it would be IRL. Again not the first one to do so, but i'll try to have my vision of the thing done. ATM, I did just tried to use this magnetic brake to anchor a collective prototype. Thank you guys I appreciate !

Twist handle done ! tested and fully working !

Hello everyone ! Today's update draft prototype for UH-1 Collective. Still only the head for now, working on a good twist throttle handle. The head is sized down to match micro inverter switch in order to get a good price, biggers for 1:1 scale costs 5€ each reaching 20€ of inverters only per head and I think it's pretty expensive. By the way, I think downsized collective head helps getting the controller easier to place around or on your chair. Do not pay attention about printing failure, it's only a prototype for me to test mount and validate my quotes. Definitive one will also get the under extension with start trigger !

AV8B dials/brightness knobs missing key bindings?

Hello! I could be interested! -
Little update : Warrior model, 2 2pos switch , 1 3pos (unstable) switch, 3 push and one 4 way hat. The grip is easy and comfy to use, it have a slight curve profile. Friction can be set adjusting the tightness of the nut on the left side of the box, a wheel will be added in the future. Very pleasant to use with any dcs helicopter The box is fixed with two bolts (on the wooden support) located on the inside face of the right surface. It's easy to open by just untigntening the screw passing through the central axis with the maintain and friction nut.

Here are some pic of the prototype I actually use to develop and improve my controller. You can find it in a basic Alpha config. Some adjustment need to be done like quotes taking in count the printer error and a bit of finishing. Wire will be gained it's just to ease the modification on mine that I leave them like this Here is a preview of what could be the Warrior model right now being printed for test. grip is inspired from a AS332 Cougar in design
