1. F-18C AND Mig-29K in the same module would be insanely fantastic.
2. Shortly put: Apply opposite pitch to kill the ascention/descention rate. ORRRRRRRRRRRR: get a joystick :) Seriously, get a joystick, even if it's a used and old one.
3. Suggest you take a look at the Corsair A70.. It's in norwegian, but you get the idea. Price is around $45. Temperature: Noise levels: The low noise (along with the decent thermal properties and pricing) it's what sold it to me. Charts taken from Hardware.no: http://www.hardware.no/artikler/corsair_a70/77954/4
4. The Corsair A70 gets very good reviews for balance between noise levels, thermal performance and pricing.
5. For optical drives? Sure; tried and proven: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118039 If you can squeeze one of theese into that bugdet, I'd highly recommend it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%20600030348%20600094002%20600107147&IsNodeId=1&name=GeForce%20GTX%20560%20Ti%20%28Fermi%29
6. The Corsair A70 (air cooler) is supposedly very quiet, very effective and not too expensive. Just bought mine, but I'm kinda at a loss now that I have to remove cooling paste and whatnot :/ And it seems like the fixed 1155 mobos will be back in stores withing a week or two if the hardware sites don't lie.
7. How about something like this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-065-OE&groupid=43&catid=1917&subcat= ? Personally I'd get a GTX 560ti, the 1000mhz factory ocerclocked one from Gigabyte. Then Get the rest when you can afford it. Your CPU seems pretty fast as it is. An SSD is great, but I honestly can't see much difference while ingame. It certainly loads everything faster though.
8. They are often faster. Look for Mhz, and the 5400-ish to 20600-ish numbers somewhere in their names. Not that I have a clue what the numbers really mean.
9. Aha, that is good to know. Thanks Eth :)
10. I cannot find motherboards that fit that cpu anywhere, must be because the chipset problems intel had. I think the 1155 socket motherboards were recalled, the problem fixed, and are heading back to the market. Guess we'll just wait and see when. Alternatively, I can warmly recommend the i7-950 that I'm using myself. Just be prepared to get a 3rd part CPU cooler. I just bought the Corsair A70. Edit: seems like this store have them in stock: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=5&subid=1906
11. Pretty much agree with what people said here, except for the arrogance thing, that went straight past my head.. Do tons of research! Just to give you a little pointer... This seems to me to be the best CPU at the moment, performance for money: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115070&cm_re=i7-_-19-115-070-_-Product This seems to me to be the best GPU at the moment, performance for money: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125362&cm_re=gtx_560_ti-_-14-125-362-_-Product If the GFX card isn't enough power for you, get 2 of them for SLI. Don't go cheap on the PSU, get Corsair HX series. Don't get less than 6GB RAM; I'd get 8 or 12. Get an SSD for your system and you fav. sim.
12. That looks to be correct: http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/compatible-memory-for/Giga-Byte/GA-8VT880P+Combo+(Rev+2.x)/list.html You should probably get a new motherboard then :/
13. No problem! By the way, I'm using the GTX 580 now, and I don't think you made a mistake getting the 560. Don't get me wrong, the 580 is AMAZING, but for just a handfull of dollars more total, you can get 2x gtx 560 in SLI mode, wich outclasses a single 580 performance-wise, and lets you run a triple monitor setup. I think your new HX850 will be enough if you ever feel the need. Enjoy your new system, let us know how it works out for you :)
14. You can't go wrong with Corsairs HX series. Comes as 650, 750, 850 or 1000 watt. I'm using the 750 one and it should be more than enough unless you are going for serious overclocking and/or multiple high-end GPUs. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007657%2050001459&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&SrchInDesc=corsair%20hx&Page=1&PageSize=20
15. He he he! Well, It is an insanely capable cpu; I expect the computer will be pretty damn good :)
16. Great! Let us know how it works out for you.. As GG said, you could have saved a lot of money on going for an i7 2600k or i7 950.. Would have opened up enough money to SLI that GPU and get you 2 extra monitors.
17. It's my pleasure! If I were you I'd keep poking around on forums and websites for a while before buying, get all the input you can. As I said, I'm not very good at this, so don't take my suggestion at face value. Maybe EtherealN will come up with a package for you; he seems to know his stuff.
18. Yeah, that's why I said I'm unsure.. I'm not really computersavvy, I kinda just read up on hardware a bit before building my new computer. What do you think of what I picked, apart from the motherboard incompatibility? EDIT: perhaps you could suggest a different one? EDIT2: Or perhaps change the memory chips to these XMS3 1333 mhz ones: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145315 It would save in $25, more than making up for the price increase with the better graphics card.
19. The graphics card is still a bit on the weak side AFAIK. Trade it for a gtx 560ti, preferably the Gigabyte superclocked version. But make sure your powersupply can take it. Why not order the parts separately and build it yourself? I did that myself for the first time and it was not a problem at all. You can save a ton of money that way. Edit: That processor is pretty expensive. You will get better performance from a i7 2600k at half the price.
20. A definitive play-trough for me.
21. That's nice to hear, EtheralN! And if you at some point want to triple-head or just need some more bang, you can SLI it without ruining yourself :) I'm gonna take a crack at it with newegg: CPU/motherboard combo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.591630 $215 Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233144 $105 Harddrive/PSU combo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.592877 $150 Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112238 $70 DVD ROM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118040 $18 GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130604&cm_re=GTX_560_ti-_-14-130-604-_-Product $250 EDIT: Get Gigabytes insane factory overclocked one instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125362 $270 <--- It is supposedly leaving the gtx 570 in the dust! Hmm that is totalling to $808, there might be room for win7 in there? I am honestly not too sure about that motherboard/CPU combo. It seems a shame not to get a sandy bridge right now. I don't know anything about the casing either, it just kind of "seemed" pretty good for it's price.
22. Perhaps keep the memory chip and get another one (or two) like it? I'll point to the gtx 560ti again, it really looks like it's great value for money at 250 USD, almost equaling the gtx 480 in a lot of games.
