I had intended to join Bluefor in Korea Flag (something fresh), but seeing as how we're back on Round 9 Part 2 after the hell that was SO, TL, and VA from Round 9 Part 1, I don't have any desire to jump back into it again. If I do end up joining for Round 9 Part 2 I'd join Bluefor, but seeing as that's overwhelmingly covered I'm just going to use my time in other games or other servers.

I only own the 109, and like it very much. My favorite thing about it is the flare gun. That said it has limited ammunition, and a standard reflex site while the 190 has significantly more ammunition/weapon loadouts, and it has a gyro site. The visibility in the 190 is better too thanks to its bubble canopy. Performance wise the 190 climbs nearly the same as the 109, but it rolls a lot better. Best of the 3 from my understanding. It turns quite a bit worse. Worst of the 3 actually. IIRC the 190 flaps are electric whereas the 109 flaps are manual, so it takes some time to extend, and raise the flaps on a 109. They both use MW50, so you can max out the engine without fear of blowing it as long as you still have some in the tank. The 109 requires a hand crank from the ground crew to start while the 190 has an electric starter (bit me on Case Blue once when the opposing team took out the ground crew vehicles, and I couldn't get my plane started while the 190's were happily launching). Do you know how wrong this sounds with the potential meaning of those two words in today's society?

The U.S. had, and did use choppers in the Korean War. The Huey would simply be a substitute much like the German aircraft since their isn't a playable period correct chopper.

What makes you think a production Ka-50 doesn't have these things?

The Mig-29S is period correct too. If you want A's up close that's fine too, but I don't really see the need. It's just going to be so much work for Greg to swap them in and out as he allows 120/77 depending on round etc... Read into it however you want. Reality shows since using the VPN to connect I haven't been disconnected once. When I play it's usually for an entire 3 hour session, so while I was happily connected for 3 hours last night attacking VA in my Ka-50 I was watching the mass disconnects from all the poor souls who don't have the luxury of using a VPN. That's what I'm trying to say. The server isn't the problem because when using the VPN to get around the congested networks I have zero problems with the server.

I don't believe the A can carry wing tanks whereas the S can. Also, how is the A faster? I can get the S so fast in level flight the control surfaces will no longer deflect. Having a few A's up close would be fine, but you're being a graphics whore. Back before the A got the new model no one wanted to fly the A because it is inferior.

You mean like the fantasy IFF we have? The fantasy radar, the fantasy missiles, the fantasy ballistic weapons, etc.. ? All these are approximations because the real data is classified. Please stop with the realism argument. It's flawed. ED could choose to meld the various Ka-50 prototypes which probably all had different mechanisms in them such as MWS, RWR, Chaff, AA missiles, and any number of other options, and this would be no further from reality than the approximations in all the other aircraft because it would be an approximation of a finalized product. I fully expect the Ka-50's they're using today have these things albeit more sophisticated versions.

I like where you're going with this! :thumbup: Honestly though, my requests aren't beyond reason of reality. The Ka-50 we have in the game is a test bed. The full service model would have an RWR because the tanks it would engage are more than likely going to be supported by AA which tracks using radar. If it doesn't have any means to detect or avoid this threat, then the Russians would be using a very expensive combat aircraft as cannon fodder. Just look at its predecessor the Mi-24. They were equipped with an RWR, and chaff.

As I said, take what you want from it. The result of changing my route is a stable connection with a better latency to the server. I can now happily play with the only fear being DCS itself crashing.

I second this. We really need more than two transport choppers at our FARPS. The limited 3 hour window doesn't give us an opportunity to accomplish much with what we have. We need a minimum of four.

Again, just because you can't play round 9 shouldn't be restarted to suit your needs. Originally I had all the disconnect woes of everyone else from Bluefor to Redfor. I could barely get my aircraft started before I'd be disconnected. I started doing the same ping/traceroute tests as microvax and determined Cogent was dropping packets. I used the VPN I pay for to change my route across the internet to avoid Cogent, and I haven't had a single drop since. You can read into that any way you want.

This is not a BuddySpike problem. Use a VPN which doesn't redirect you through Cogent to connect, and your problem will be solved.

You're calling a player a cheater because they're flying faster than 250 kph in a Mi-8 something the aircraft can actually do. On top of that you're making a bold claim that I support cheaters because I state this fact. Your color bias knows no bounds. I'm glad you don't play PvP anymore.

You're grasping at straws mate. The Mi-8 can easily get above 250 kph, and reach past 350 kph in a dive. Much past 350 kph will force a retreating blade stall in which case the speed will dramatically reduce should death be avoided.
