All this time in previous rounds we thought it was enemy spies shutting down the KUBS. Turns out it was enemy GCI all this time. How did they get our launch codes? :doh:

Moving your rudder disengages the heading hold. If you re-center your rudder the heading hold will re-engage. To really make it work you'll need the AI flight engineer enabled and the rudder trim enabled.

I'm for no plane shown on F10. I think it's going to be more fun than you think. Kinda like SR.

Yep, Jman comes back from the lives grave by driving a JTAC :). I hope ours become driveable soon. I think my most adrenaline rushed moment was Ether (Redfor defector) vectoring me into Snowman's Huey where I was firing at max range in a desperate attempt to prevent him from taking the Maykop-Sochi FARP. He was just several feet from the ground when I got a lucky UPK pod strike on his tail popping it off and I got to satisfyingly watch his fuselage slam into the ground and explode. Not long after the A-10 CAS found me.

First I want to say I support SR, and I use it. I've also helped a huge chunk of Redfor get this working. Please see my previous post. What you state isn't going to work. You might be able to to force me to have SR running, but you can't force me to communicate through it. I'm not trying to be confrontational, but everyone seems to think BS can just force everyone to use SR even though you can't.

I ask again, how do you enforce this?

How exactly would they enforce this? If by saying they must be connected then someone could easily connect to SR, tune to a random frequency, and use TS, or just chat instead. If you try to force certain frequencies then they could tune them in, and turn the volume on all radios down. Basically, if they don't want to use it then they aren't going to no matter how hard you try to force them.

The Ka-50 isn't some ultimate Anti-chopper tool. It requires significant work coordinating with a GCI to locate another chopper to attack, and then if you're unlucky, and the victim spots you first then you could end up being the victim. Chopper combat boils down to who spots who first in almost all engagements. If the Huey gets the jump on a Ka-50, it's dead. If a Mi-8 gets the jump on a Ka-50, it's dead. If a Gazelle gets the jump on a Ka-50, the Gazelle is dead. Just kidding, the M might have more trouble since it will need to acquire a HOT 3 lock, but the L will certainly kill it.

The HOT 3 has better stand off range than the gun. Against AA targets it is better. IR SAMs will engage the Ka-50 before it's within range to use the gun. This isn't true. The SA-8 has a longer range than the Vikhr. If you want to test this, then join Redfor, and find out today. What is up with this? Do you know? It's like turning fog off war off in WarCraft. Join Redfor, and try to carry out a strike against any Bluefor target without CAP, let me know how many KM you travel before you respawn. This here is what makes them functionally equivalent. It is reasonably balanced. The BuddySpike team has made it so the Gazelle isn't far off from the Ka-50 in what it can accomplish.

Not sure if you understood what I was describing earlier. The F-4E's weapons are not period correct. They are the same weapons Bluefor F-15's use, thus fighting an F-4E is the same as fighting the F-15. Of course AI, so they aren't as smart as a seasoned player. The Mig-23, and Mig-21 use period correct weapons, so you'd be pitting 1960/70's tech against an F-15 essentially. It actually used to be this way, and the Mig-23 was just cannon fodder.

So the truth comes out.

It isn't a Mig-29S it's a Mig-29A, and for all intents and purposes they are balanced. The Mig-29A has the same weapon restrictions as the playable craft as does the F-4E. In case you haven't realized the AI doesn't play by the rules with its flight model, so BuddySpike is more than welcome to throw in an F-16A if that's what you want. The threat from our point of view is the missiles not the aircraft. The reason we were upgraded to the Mig-29A is because the Mig-23 wasn't capable of carrying even the restricted weapons of the playable aircraft. Last I recall the Gazelle could call in airstrikes which will destroy up to 10 targets, and then it has 4 HOT 3 missiles. On top of that its RWR will let it know if it's been detected, so the pilot can hide.

So you're saying the Mig-21 is balanced against the M2K?

The other option is to put the Mig-29 on Bluefor starting bases. Either works, but I'd rather see the F-5 if it's working.

This would have been an acceptable had the Mirage not gone on to engage friendlies.... da fuq?!? I would take an RWR over the Ka-50's radar any day... wait a minute... I must have drawn the short straw somewhere.

I don't know about that. When a Mirage can ram my Ka-50 killing it, and fly away without any damage, I'd say that's about as broken as it's going to get.

Now that this is released, can we have the F-5E on the Redfor forward bases instead of the Mirage 2000C?

Tello, first you need to get the updated Mi-8 English cockpit as it has a fix for the ingame radio not displaying the correct frequency. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2840400&postcount=435 Second, you needed to tune your radio by pressing the AGC (automatic gain control) button after selecting the channel. Simply selecting the channel doesn't change the frequency. I'm just happy you landed that troop transport at Vody. ;) Pretty sure this rounding error is an error with the cockpit, and not your program. See my first point to Tello above.
