The SD-10A is not dual pulse, it's dual thrust, meaning a combination of rocket grains with differing burn rates creating an initial boost phase to get the missile up to speed then a longer sustain phase to keep the missiles velocity up; the entire motor is burned in a single ignition. The PL-15 and PL-XX *supposedly* use dual pulse motors, but credible information is scarce on both. If you can find a source that says different, I'd love to see it.

Dual thrust rocket motors are properly modelled, and have been since the AIM-7F was introduced; all missile stuff was really bad at that time, but the motor was functioning correctly. The ingame SD-10A does use a correct boost/sustain motor, with correct modelling.

The SD-10 is holds the advantage over the AMRAAM above ~15,000ft, but you should be pushing above 25,000ft if you really want to out-range your opponent. Airspeed is extremely important also; if you can break Mach 1, then the missile doesn't need to waste energy in the transsonic region, so you'll get significantly better performance. There some good tutorials on BVR timelines and tactics on YouTube, here's spudknockers, it's in the 16, but the tactics still translate to the 17:

I was splashing MiG-25s on Sunday no issue, do you have a tacview or track so we can diagnose your issue? It might just be a change of tactics that you need.
-
You're the only one attributing malice to any of this. If you have the information to fix this issue, then you have two Devs in this thread ready to work with you. Why won't you tell them who you collaborated with? Or properly direct them to your source of info so they can fix it?

Forum aliases aren't protected, and you're quoting a DIS Dev who just said you're wrong, and he doesn't know you. I think your story is falling apart, friend.

I ended up using J20Stronk's MFD recolour, and it's so much better. Still disappointed that it's not usable without mods.

My CM-802AKG performs aerobatics instead of hitting the target
Foogle replied to pa28_f-gieq's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'm away from my computer and can't check the track file; but it sounds like you're trying to fire them without the datalink pod and without guiding them in. The AKG must be hand flown in the terminal phase. The acrobatics seem to be an effect of the missile continually trying to fly to the target point even after overflying it. -
The symbology strokes are extremely dim when the map is activated. SYM is maxed out to start, so i cant go any higher. BRT affects everything, strokes and map, so it does not help. and CONT needs to be so low that the map becomes unreadable, for the strokes to stand out.

You asked for confirmation that the bug is fixed and being released with the next patch, I pointed out the tags that confirm that. If it was fixed and released, it would be in the "fixed bugs" sub-forum. Sorry if I'm being terse bud, but the answer is literally just up a few posts, a cursory glance would have been enough to answer your question.

In the title, that you clicked on to get here, and at the top of the page, where it says [Fixed].

I think the 2 circles are for the bolts holding the chaff/flare bucket in place.

Reduce your scan azimuth, you'll get more consistent updates making it easier to lock.

GBU bomb drop line/square/beep tone and chucks guide different
Foogle replied to Kitchen_Duty's topic in JF-17 Thunder
GBU's drop on pickle, GP bombs will properly CCRP, DEKA says it's to allow people to choose the impact angle of their LGBs, but i find it only really causes a miss. -
Because it's been fixed internally, and should be pushed next patch.
-
Fixed means it will be in the next patch. The JF-17 is too small for ED to release a hotfix for it.
-
You know you can tag the Devs if it looks like they haven't seen the thread? Here, watch this; @uboats any timeline on this bug? the tpod is pretty important. Thanks
-
I think you missed the problem. He's talking about the terminal manouver which pushes the nose down to the target and centres you on your selected point. Currently the missile goes live and points at the horizon, so you have to manually slew down and find the target point, which is really not very useful. The SLAM & ER noses down for you at 10 miles, but maybe it's a different scheme.

A circle with as well defined border like that should be fairly easy to cut out of the background.
-
If someone describes something as "going to space", it's probably not a little pop up, or altitude correction. Especially when the situation he described is exactly how the bug is reproduced.
-
Are you implying that OP is lying? Someone is asking why a reported behaviour is happening; it doesn't take much to draw the conclusion that it's associated with that very bug.
-
@uboats this looks like it's still happening.

This is an excellent paintkit, thank you. If I can make a request; The dual PL-12 rack is textured now, a template for it would be wonderful. A wish list request would be templates for available missiles, bombs, & pods.
