  1. Thanks for the profile, I will be getting my dvd copy soon as I have a close friend married to a nice Russian girl here nearby, and Sveta's family has already shipped me two copies to me from Russia. Looking forward to trying this sim out. Would be nice if the moderators made a sticky thread for "Cougar Profiles", "Saitek Profiles", "CH Profiles" since there seems to already be several threads each, and this would make it easier to find help for each joystick and answer many questions that would be repeated by many...especially once the western version is released. Just a thought.
  2. Beautiful work guys! The 1920 x 1080 looks sharp in that screenshot.
  3. Good job Madcat_, looking forward to its' full release.
  4. 37" 1080P widescreen (Westinghouse LVM 37w3, monitor, not a TV). Once you go to a large 37" to 42" screen in LockOn, you'll never look back!! Westinghouse 1080P LVM 37w3 1920x1080 resolution straight thru the DVI connector into a DVI connector on the Westinghouse monitor (digital to digital connection). Awesome color and performance, better than the high-end 19 and 21" lcds and CRTs I have had (not the cheap versions either). LockOn performance is A++++ I would highly recommend it to anyone. Colors are brilliant, Blacks are awesome if you play games like COD4 that use alot of shadows, etc... I have run this screen with a single Nvidia Geforce 7950, and also with dual 7950's in SLI, and currently with an EVGA 8800 GTKO video card. On its way to me now is one of the new Nvidia GTX 280's and I'll report back later. Performance has been flawless and without problems. Note: I recommend if you have a flat screen, for cleaning, to go to your local sunglass hut or optical store, and buy their spray cleaner for expensive glasses. Works like a charm, and I have been using it on my laptops screens, LCDs, 1080P monitor and HDTV for over a year now without issue. Leaves no streaks, marks or residue when wiped with a clean soft cloth. http://www.westinghousedigital.com/details.aspx?itemnum=56 :thumbup:
  5. It does support widescreen. I am running SpaceShuttle at 1920 x 1080 on a 37" widescreen and it looks awesome with full graphics on.
  6. Excellent work guys, you should all be applauded for your efforts!:thumbup:
  7. Grimes, If at all possible, try to get one with the Intel Core2Duo ( not the Intel Dual Core ) since they are not the same (not even close) and the Core2Duos are a much stronger cpu, which is essential for you to be happy with it for LockON, games and 3DSMax. Otherwise you might be surprised with the lack of performance of your new laptop in LockOn and other games. I hope you find one that works for you. A friend of mine has a MacBook Pro and runs in dual boot the MacOSX and WindowsXP on it ( I have an older 17" Powerbook and still use it daily). My buddy uses his for gaming and has nothing but high praise with it, playing titles like COD4, QuakeWars, GTR2 racing, rFactor, and IL2 1946. He does not own LockOn, but also plays Falcon4 Allied Force on it, and it is very smooth. So the new MacBook Pro's work just fine for all apps, as long as you load the WinXP OS on it in a dual boot, (not parrallels, he tried this and it uses too much resources as compared to just dual booting) into either XP or OSX. He has yet to buy then try to install Vista on it, so I can't report on how well it does on the MacBook Pro.
  8. I have an old Sager 8790 (Desktop 3.2Ghz cpu, 2Gb DDR2, Raid-0, ATI 9700 256Mb) and it still works amazingly and plays LockON just fine. Obviously todays laptops are getting even more powerful, but I suggest getting one with a Core2Duo cpu (Intel) and with a good strong video card you should be fine. Good luck with your purchase!
  9. No problems here as well with any of the latest CAT's. Installed onto my aging Sager Gaming Laptop (ATI 9700 Pro 256MB) without problems in dual boot in both XP Pro and Vista Ultimate. LockOn and all games play perfectly with them. Thanks again Mustang for posting their release.
  10. Shamandgg, It basically boils down to if you have a choice, go with Windows XP, because I have it installed on all 3 OS platforms you mentioned on different machines and the sound problem alone is terrible in Vista. And seeing how you won't gain anything gaming-wise by installing Vista (32 or 64 bit) since DX10 titles are scarce at best right now anyways (FSX is only DX10 Preview which mainly affects the way the water looks), my humble opinion is to stick with XP for your continued gaming experience, since there is no performance or graphics gain currently with LockOn ( and for that matter Black Shark since it is going to be DX9 also) within Vista.
  11. I too have never had issues with LockOn and SLI except with one of the drivers nvidia issued, but the next one fixed it again. The flashing clouds only happened with that one driver version, before and after it, all the drivers worked great in LockON with SLI. No need to use other programs. 99th flyby, LockOn and Flaming Cliffs do not take advantage of SLI very much at all due to their age, so basically it only helps very little in the FPS. As for BlackShark, it is a new sim coming out so I imagine/assume that it will take advantage of SLI should you choose to invest in that direction.
