  1. Okay, that clears up a few things. He seemed to indicate that when selecting TWS, it automatically switches to "Narrow" mode, where as I was doing manually. That might be the cause of my difficulty. I'll check when I get home. Thanks to all of you for your assistance.
  2. Didn't seem to work. In Chucks guide, it also said that I needed to be in "Narrow" mode for it to work, which he designated as (RCTRL -). That didn't seem to work either. I haven't changed any key bindings either. In your example, am I safe in assuming its "I" first, then 2 for BVR?
  3. I'm working my way through the various radar modes and I find myself stuck on TWS. I've tried following the instructions in Chucks tutorial but I'm obviously missing something. I can't seem to get into TWS mode so that I can lock multiple targets. If one of you experienced F15 jockeys could please lay out the correct steps I'd very much appreciate it.
  4. I've been flying the F15 for about 9 months now, and I've been where the OP is. Flying the Instant Action missions in both maps with guns only was a little frustrating at first until I learned the energy mgmt required to fight effectively. Sometimes I would get smoked early usually due to getting tunnel vision on 1 enemy while the other slid onto my 6. Or finding myself in a tight single circle fight that I had no chance of winning. Sometimes I might get onto his 6 from above, but not have the energy when he went into a climb. As has already been said above, It's really been about practicing and thinking about what worked and what didn't.
  5. Gentle use of your rudders is required to take off and upon touch down and roll out. It takes some practice. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  6. Turned 57 last week. Started Sims 25+ years ago after my original ppl instructor peeked in my log book and said I was flying just enough to kill myself. Discovered DCS back in April of this year. $2K Plus Alienware, tm hotas, ch pedals , etc. 42" monitor. Let me be an example for you younger guys. Save your money and keep your credit score high. Use older guys don't screw around when it comes to our fun and it ain't cheap! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  7. Yup. I think I pulled up a little bit too much once I got airborne and almost touched down due to loss of lift. Just need to trust it to let my speed build and let it climb slowly until around 200kts or more before applying back pressure on the stick. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  8. Flew the Red Flag mission tonight that I had the blown tire issues with, and followed the advice to rotate earlier. Slight back pressure at 100kts and a little more at 125 then airborne at 135. Not the most stable or smooth transition but no blown tire. Thanks for chiming in guys. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks Sierra. On a positive note, I've managed to grease every landing with the flat tire at Nellis. Sure is noisy though. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  10. Was it just an instant mission or a red flag? Just curious to know how to report. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  11. Sorry. Yes, full load out. Preloaded in Red Flag. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  12. Red Flag missions 2 and 3. I've flown them before and never had the issue. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  13. Nellis. 2 bags. Perfect weather. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  14. Since the new 2.4 NTTR update I'm experiencing a blown tire on almost every takeoff. I've had it happen anywhere from 150 to 200kts. Any body else? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  15. I've struggled with the same issue of not easily spotting bogeys. One thing that has helped me is flying the "Aggressors" Quick Mission in 2.0. The fight basically takes place in a valley and the AI tend to stay in there. It allows me to keep my head out of the HUD and focus on SA. As for the AI wingman, they are nothing but bait in this mission. They never merge, engage, or fire a shot. I'll fly above him and wait for the AI to get on his 6 and then roll in for the shot.
  16. Just for clarification, the 5th pic in post #9 is the British destroyer HMS Duncan D37. It was there just keeping an eye on things.
  17. My rig is in my sig. Runs both maps like a champ on Ultra settings. What's the budget?
  18. Yeah, that's my experience too. If I hit escape and choose refly, my wing man is in a different spot and will fly with me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  19. Has anyone else seen this? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  20. When starting Mission-Clean Sweep in 1.5 my wingman is parked directly across the taxiway from me on startup. After startup and taxing my jet to the taxiway, it appears that the truck parked next to my wingman explodes, causing my wingman to eject. The other 2 jets continue on to taxi and will take off behind me. I flew this mission a month or so ago and it didn't do this. Is the a bug or have I clicked on something wrong......again.
  21. On take off, the F15 wants to pull a little left. Try applying just a bit of right rudder.
  22. Thank you very much kind sir!
  23. I did just get TrackIR. Any suggestion how to fix the issue if it's that?
  24. ${1} or A mere $18000 gets you up in air.
  25. Unfortunately, I don't have the option at this point to go to the Default button as it's shaded. I'm wondering if I can just delete the Target software and that will give me the option. Does any one know if that might work?
