Are you using DCS 1.5 or 2.1? I hear 2.1 has very bad performance in VR though I did not try myself. I have tried 1.5 about 6months ago and I too found performance very bad in VR so I uninstalled. And I'm using a GTX1080turbo. Instead I play warthunder in sim mode (better than nothing) and must say performance is absolutely perfect . I know warthunder is not the best sim but man have they ever optimized so well (I NEVER EVER get fps drops no matter how many planes,map etc...)

dcs 1.5 vr performance Disssapointed to hear that! I had v1.5 installed about 6 months ago to see how well it performed in VR and found that to be a stutter-fest as well. Especially annoying was the aircraft flying by as double-images. Running GTX1080turbo and 4670K. So I uninstalled. Stuck playing warthunder for now until DCS gets better optimized. So my question, has DCS 1.5 been better optimized in VR performance lately since last few months or not?

Are framerates on 2.02 better than 1.5 with DK2??? cuz on 1.5 it's stutter city for me outside cockpit (headtracking good though)

I love the fact that starVR is actually addressing the present day FOV and will be improving on it. Oculus simply ignore any details relating to FOV, mainly saying it is subjective, depends how far the person eyes are from the screen bla bla bla.....end result is it looks like horse vision period! Of course I still love my DK2 but only becuase it's that or back to flat monitors- which is a def no-go! FOV is way more important than resoltion when it comes to VR immersion!

Apparently you need to go to set the audio defualt to hmd. Not sure where you do this though sorry...maybe oculus store settings,windows control panel,....?

I have the exact same issue as the op! Using Strix GTX970., Graphics settings makes absolute no difference in stutter nor visiblity improvements tbh. Graphics card usage <70%

My theater map does not work properly in VR! Icon/poi placement come up but no actual map!? Am I doing somehing wrong?

I always have severe stutters(not related to head movement) when over towns and/or other planes around. Borderline playable right now. Funny thing is graphics options make no difference whatesoever and according to my performance tools my graphix card only 60% used and cpu only 1 core out of 8 used.

Ahhh that's what I was thinking. You think though they are actually putting in development time on 1.5 since I thought they were at 2.0 now?

So am I the only one experiencing stutter/low fps flying over cities/towns? Head-Tracking is perfect. I tried with the settings on low and on high made very little difference. On top of that, my graphix card (GTX970) performance tool shows less than 60% usage no matter what I set in the graphics options. Anybody shed any light on this?

So is there a solution for the low fps/stuttering when flying over towns/cities? Is shadows the main culprit?

I too have the open beta version installed only but I do not want to screw around with command line switches. Do I need to uninstall open beta 1.5 and re-install release 1.5??

Add to that ELite Dangerous! I bought the game directly thru Frontier(not steam) and to play the game I just run Frontier's launcher directly. Though I must say that the oculus store automatically starts up after that on my DK2. I stare for couple of seconds at the "caution blablabla..." and game starts seamlessly.

Completely agree! It's the internet i.e. open world! As bugs bunny says- If you can't beat em join em!

Nice idea but however accurate the wands might be, I don't see how they can possibly equal the accuracy of a real joystick for accuracy-critical sims such as DCS! That sounds like the wii all over again....then again I can be wrong.

Is that for people with prescription glasses? I don't wear glasses, so how exactly will those glasses help me? Also can you put a link to exactly the glasses you/he talking about?

I believe icons will always be disabled in VR Sims due to immersion..

To go back to extended mode would you not have to uninstall oc drvr 1.3 and re-install 0.5/0.6??

Did you check the box to allow third party software in the oculus store page settings?
