Yep thats pretty much it no prop effects on a Jet. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

The only time I worry about the ball in a jet is when I am engine out, the rest of the time its not really a factor. So the design is not really a problem.as it doesnt matter 99% of the time. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Ok lost half of both wings on the new SU33 PFM was still flying but very fast , lack of drag etc was informed I was no longer on f10 map, someone shot me again endex. Also previously lost half a wing on an F5 flight model was actually kind of cool if it were not for the fact it was visually on fire I would have found it quite believable, landed the Aircraft with full right aileron and had to use a little rudder at 190kts. I had done a low speed handling check so found out prior to my approach that it would do an uncontrollable left roll at 180kts. Never flew a T38 with half a wing but if it were not for the fact I could see the flames on the F5 I would have found it quite believable, plus it was a fun challenge to get it on the ground. Sorry no tracks as this was in the last month. Not sure what was going on with the hyds on the short wing. The F5 and SU33 cases were however completely different from the Hawk in as much as I could feel the differences on the controls when the control surfaces were damaged. Personally I would love to get rid of the flames and leave the flight model alone ( definitely in the F5 case insufficient flight time on the new SU33) PS IRL why the hell would you stay with it , the tax payer can buy a new one and you only have one life. For you P51 they are important however for the Jets once you are airborne rudder pedals are just footrests, assuming both engines are working. Because you are flying so much faster most of the time you are going to use much higher angles of bank to get the thing to turn so coordination is irelavant. When flying combat spread the standard turn is about 4g co-ordinating the ball is not a factor. If you are looking at the ball swinging as you roll in that because it is offset from the roll axis and the movement is basiacally irelavant. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

From a retired F14 Pilot " I didnt know many guys(maybe one or two) that used dif thrust during ACM, partly due to the fact we had two big ass rudders that were pretty effective. Perhaps during a "rudder reversal"...if you ran out of energy on the front side of a loop, around 45-60 nose up, you'd come out of blower and put in full rudder to pivot around the vertical access to nose down, reversing 180 degs. You could use dif thrust to aide this but your nose track rate may pick up too much and activate the spin recovery assist for the airframes with DFCS..digital flight control systems, a later mod for all F-14s...that would buy you a front row ticket to the shit show. Also on the GE engines we had ATLS..asymmetric thrust limiting system, it would hold one engine in a min blower until the other lit off, so you couldnt do crazy dif thrust anyway. Max dif would be idle on one, min blow on the other." Well I look forward to giving that a go, Hurry up Heatblur. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

You were listening to Fri too much [emoji16]. Recently they must have changed something cos I am getting Tally on a pair head on at about 9 -10 miles. One under the TD circle and seeing hIs mate, hence I know I have a sort. This is about right from real life so whatever has changed I like it. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Yea I am gonna ask mt colleague in Hkg he has a couple of tours on F14s. It was a Harrier pilot that told me viffing was useless in combat when we were briefing before a 2v2 DACT. Differential thrust is interesting idea but for it to be more effective than rudder it has to be low speed , could make for a hell of a guns jink I guess [emoji16].. Sounds a bit like Harrier Viffing completely useless in the real world as it would only work at low speed. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
WindyTX replied to rrohde's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
No they arent VKB use their own connectors. Their extension is good as there is no loose wire in it. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk -
Problem with Warthog Throttle
WindyTX replied to Jg2001_Rasputin's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yea I had this 6 months ago was a blown control board in the throttle. Unfortunatley it took 2 months to get the replacement but that did fix it. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk -

Turn your sampling to 1.8 in one place only 2.5 is way too high, with the other setting mentioned here you should ne fine. Just use one Pixel density setting upgrade. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Did some SU33 AAR yesterday its kind of frustrating that the Tanker doesnt trail the hoses when he clears you precontact like real life. Also IRL they trail the hoses and then leave them out till they have finished refueling. I know you guys are busy but if this could be fixed eventually it would be great. Summary Tanker on track trails the hose when 1st chick arrives. Cleared pre contact is a position about 20ft behind the drogue ( hard to do if the drogue is not trailed). Infamous pilot will bring the fight slower in where they use asymmetric thrust, cross controls... Talking Ludwig, hose, flash Sr and flash jr.. snort..etc.. Can I ask for an expansion never heard of these techniques? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Forgive me if its a stupid observation but you have to flick the safety off over the flare button else it wont work on the 1st press. I will double check but i think Injust hold the flare button after that and they deploy with no snags. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

I would like to add a little, but hopefully not flame the fire, military pilot training is competely different from DCS, I have flown with guys that are great in a fight but cant fly straight and level in the circuit. The Hawk and the F5 are great lead in aircraft in the real world as they teach you to deal with the faster speeds involved in flying a fast jet and you learn to dumb bomb and BFMs. If you want to get ready to operate the F18 quickly then the A10c will get you used to a complex fighter. If you really want to learn, in the style of the real world, then sure do the F5 or Hawk and spend time learning to fly as opposed to learning to operate. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

** UPDATE: F-14 Flight Model - Episode I - "The Basics" **
WindyTX replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yea Link 16 was great infortunately I left before the F3 got Asraam and Amraam , now dont get me wrong I hate Aim120 but irl I would always have taken it if it had been available, I was on the receiving end of a few in Red Flag. In DCS if they got rid of ED's version of "Aim120" I would be happy I am a pilot and I like to fly I want to end up in a visual merge 50% of the time. Hopefully we have the link on the F14. Especially seeing as the SU27 has a semi decent version. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk -
Guys compared to the real world this is a bug. Could you please implement bullseye for the F15 so that it can be read on the Radar display for the marker like the M2K. It would be nice on all the fighters but I am not sure what the Russians use. And please make sure its implemented for the F18 and the F14. It is used almost exclusively by western forces and would mean your Awacs "calls" would be useful for everyone and thus you could massively reduce the number of calls required. WindyTX replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yep for war it was way better than the press it got, good Radar, great RWR and Link 16 , a good friend came back from the marine F18 exchange and his comment was loved the Aircraft but would rather go to war in an F3. Oh and it was the fastest thing out there after the F111 retired. The bad under powered ( tho all Pilots say that [emoji6]), gen 3.5 maneuverability, it will kill an F4 in a straight turning fight but against an F15 ,16,18 you get one shot on him if he doesnt realise how quickly an F3 can bleed energy. So we would never enter a fight without advantage and thanks to its sensors and 2 seats thats not as hard as it sounds. Really looking forward to the F14 as its basically the same role as I did and as I mentioned previously it sounds like Heatblur are doing it right. We are already putting SOP's together and constituting crews on the 16AGR so I just wish they would hurry up. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk -

I have 0 time in the F14 but 2000 hours in the Tornado F3 I watched the video but find it impossible to give good feedback without being able to feel the control inputs, however, I will say that I have had "0" problems with the flight models in DCS while there are the odd bugbears " blackout in 2 sec, "Aim120" ! " overall its great fun and feels pretty realistic. I have 130hours in the T38 it was a twitchy bugger and the F5 is the same. I have had a quick "chat" with Heatblur specifically about wing rock if you manually leave the wings back and from the the feedback they gave me, it all sounded good. Our control inputs have a massive effect on how a plane feels and they are an enormous variable, I am confident that we will get realistic simulation of the F14. I now fly a B777 now thats control Lag [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
