  1. Hope this is allowed and not a repeat? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Thrustmaster-Hotas-Warthog-Gaming-Accessory-Kit-Throttle-Stick-2960720/15268503?u1=c9f98eceb65b11e9929496e3530149c00INT&oid=223073.1
  2. What speeds are people currently seeing via torrent? I started at 2+ MB/sec, but down to 200k/sec.
  3. Note that his is in the initial unpacking phase - only way he'd be seeing 40MB/sec. Could be he started in torrent, and switched to http. That speed shown is analyzing what had already been downloaded to disk - not the actual download speed.
  4. I am also running the home beta, but see large gloved hands (not the touch controllers). I can wave the hands around, but they dont do anything.
  5. My CV1 rift arrived yesterday. Agree it is a revolutionary experience. Not perfect (resolution, focus, screen door), but amazing (immersion responsiveness, and more). After the standard demos, I fired up the A-10, and sat on pause marvelling at the cockpit in 3d. Just amazing.
  6. Great idea - will give it a shot - thanks!
  7. I just enrolled in Air Combat USA Fighter Lead in program. It is a civilian fighter pilot "training" program. You basically get training and a couple of flights where you dogfight using artificial weapons. They fly the Italian SIAI-Marchetti SF.260. Any thoughts on which of the DCS aircraft would best mimic the performance characteristics? None of them really seem to come close... thanks!
  8. Another request for 64bit lua-gui5.dll from beta4 please. Or please email to greenhut AT pobox DOT com thanks!
  9. In case anyone else is getting frustrated like I was trying to setup multi monitor with DCS crashing on every flight attempt, DON'T FORGET TO TURN OFF FULL SCREEN :)
  10. Wow. Until recently, I have just been learning my way around the bird - lotsa instant action, etc. Today I started the campaign. I just did the 3/4th mission where you leave at night to take out a building and then the escaping car. This is the mission where it all came together for me. Had my nicest approach and landing on the way home too. Until now, the wow factor for me had been the sim aspect of the product. Tonight I experienced the rewards of learning a complex sim, mixed with movie drama. Amazing. If you were like me and had been "sim fixated", give the campaign a try. Don't obsess on perfection - have fun! jeff
  11. This is my most missed feature. It was in Lock ON, but would frequently crash the game when restored.
  12. While labelled as 8.12 in some places, they seem to be 8.11
  13. Thanks, but in full disclosure, I worked on the Mac port of F117 (which turned out really poor). I got to port x86 assembly to 6800 assembly. Most of my work was 3D code - lots of matrix multiplication etc. Also got to work on the Civilization port to the Mac which was a big success and was back ported to the PC for the first Windows version of Civ. Anyway, I'm thrilled ED has helped the genre live on, and the quality, depth, and accuracy of BS is awesome.
  14. To perhaps give myself some credibility (or maybe none), I worked as a developer on the Microprose F-117 sim. Anyway, I have played all of the greats and find DCS: BS to be at the top of my list by most measures. Congrats on an amazing piece of work!
