Controls indicator - possible to move it?
epoch replied to epoch's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated. So, the Gazelle doesn't have the file Cockpit\Scripts\ControlsIndicator\Controlsindicator_page.lua. There is a Cockpit\Controls\base_page.lua. There's a section in there that resembles that from other aircraft's Controlsindicator_page.lua file. And for sure if I modify the base.init_pos setting it does do something to the controls indicator .... it makes it disappear completely! So I guess I've found the correct setting ... I just can't work out what values to change. No matter what setting I give it the control indicator fails to appear after setting it. I can only get the indicator back if I reset the value to base.init_pos = {0,0} I'm sure that I'm doing something wrong. I just don't know what! Thanks in advance for any additional help. -
Hi Is there any way to move the controls indicator (the one that appears when you press R-CTRL ENTER)? As you can see from the pic mine is in the centre of the screen, regardless of the aircraft. Presumably this is because my resolution is set to 3840x1080. I'm using 2 x 1920x1080 monitors. Main window is on left, and right is either totally blank (!) or when in the A10 it has my MFDs etc. I guess there's a file somewhere that I can edit to move the thing? If it's aircraft specific then I'm primarily interested in fixing it for the Gazelle ... it's the one for which I most need the control indicator active! Thanks in advance for any help. %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i.imgur.com/tHucAXn.png[/img]

Ah ... my search-fu failed me! Thank you, I'll give that a try! Edit: Confirmed working, thanks CrashO.

Hi Loving the Gazelle! Handle her well and she's a dream! I've mostly been using the SA-342M. However I'm also enjoying gun and rocket runs in the L variant. My buddy made a night time mission, which led to the discovery that there is no NVG capability in the L. That made things ... interesting ... Is there any way to add NVG functionality to the L variant? I did see some posts elsewhere for other aircraft about modifying some files (devices.lua and device_init.lua) but I'm not sure if they're relevant here, and for sure I'd probably make a mess of any attempt. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks for the explanations, and the advice! Cheers!

Thanks for the reply. I found the Warthog purchase by adding '1' to the username as you suggested - thanks for that. Flaming Cliffs still not found. No email re. the merger, though I am aware that my issue is linked to multiple accounts pre-merger. Noted, with astonishment. Do you speak on behalf of the vendor when you suggest that a paying customer who is not satisfied with the vendor's response has their query deliberately delayed further? I'll "bump" the ticket with the info regarding the additional account, and wait patiently. Thanks again.

Hi I require a response to 15615 (billing/sales). Logged in July - ignored ever since. Would appreciate someone dealing with it. Thanks.

Yeah it does look like I misunderstood their meaning of 'upgrade'. I thought it was more of a licensing concept rather than a physical upgrade, the implementation of which is just a little messy! I'd prefer to purchase the full BS2 at $39.99 rather than install BS1 (but naturally I'd want my $19.99 back!). I've logged a ticket so let's see what they say.
-
I'm confused! I own BS1, but I don't have it installed. I've bought the $19.99 upgrade since I'm already a BS1 owner. Can I simply download and install the full BS2, or must I install BS1, then the BS2 upgrade? I don't particularly want to install BS1 as I have no intention playing it, but I'm unclear as to exactly what DCS are meaning by 'upgrade'. In-place upgrade of BS1 whilst it's installed, or more of a 'license upgrade' to give you the right to play BS2. Thanks in advance.

Presumably due to my reply in this thread, the following PM exchange occurred: So, Aries' real life friend knows best (and presumably polishes his aircraft with a Brillo pad).

Are you serious? There's a lengthy list of things that still don't work in this sim, and you're fixated on this trivial rubbish. How many people have to post IT IS NOT REALISTIC for you to get the hint?

A casual scan around the forums finds many references to this title as a 'game', posted by the devs/producer themselves. It is a video game. A far cry from Frogger and Donkey Kong that's for sure, but a game nonetheless. And a bloody good one.

The list very well might be subject to change, but that doesn't necessarily mean by adding things. They can always remove stuff from the list. Would be good to know if the issues =STP= Dragon mentions have been addressed.

I lost my HUD last night, for no apparent reason. Quite disconcerting. Peering through a completely empty windscreen felt most unusual! Easy enough to land and repair, but annoying nonetheless.

This any good?

I don't think you can get him to repeat the approach info, other than cancelling the request then asking again. On the other hand, if you ask him to taxi, he'll give you clearance about 100 bloody times. Then refuse to let you take off. He has OCD though, and we mustn't mock the afflicted.

Thank you for taking the time to do this, and your other tutorials. +Rep incoming. Edit: ok, rep not incoming. Apparently I've given you too much previously! So +1 virtual rep then!

Possible issue in v8. Some friends and I were playing the other night. I typed "getupdate" into chat (I wasn't the host) and we all got a message regarding the task. Unfortunately the message was permanent - it never disappeared. As a result, subsequent tasks could not be attempted as we were unable to see the message & coordinates. There were three players on the server. All were affected. Other than that, awesome mission. -
Not that great tbh. Try setting your pressure to 3841 and see how you like it! Great that we're getting 4 digits now, but the accuracy needs some work I think.

He still does it if you get taxi clearance. Did it to me after a refuel. I was cleared to taxi by ATC (who is still suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder it seems).
