  1. I'm a little confused by this. It sounds to me that you might be getting mixed up between the mission tasks that are written by me and actioned by triggers and the AFAC/JTAC. In each scenario there are 4 tasks, run in a linear fashion. One must be completed before you receive the next. These are scripted and received by text only. I have not recorded radio messages, (too much effort tbh, and epoch would just take the piss anyway) ;) The AFAC will 'talk' to you via the radios, and you can ask for targets from them (JTAC). These targets however are NOT part of the 'mission'. The AFAC is just spotting threats, you can ignore them or attack them as you see fit, they have no relevance to the actual 'task' you have been asked to perform. I hope this makes sense, if i have misunderstood your issue, apologies, maybe you could try explaining again.
  2. Already done, kind of! As its important to try and not out clutter the mission in order keep the mission smooth and playable with regards to fps for the majority, i've tried to only spawn 'things' that are actually going to interact with the flight. There are 3 Jtac in the present version.. these become active when the lead plane (Tusk 1-1) flies into certain areas. But they can be all active at the same time, so you could have 3 active. In version 2.0 I have tweaked the AFAC/Jtacs quite a lot.. firstly to keep them in the air for longer, (they were going subterranean for some weird reason) so you have greater chance of working with multiple Jtacs. I have also added some new Jtacs associated with new taskings. i believe there are 5 in total so far.. and i'll likely add more. I just flew my latest WIP version.. and i had two AFAC/Jtacs jibbering to me at the same time, on two different radios. Whatever happens in the final version.. i'll make sure you have plenty of Jtac action.. BUT in multiplayer only the server host can communicate with the Jtac :( So your suggestion wont work i'm afraid. EDIT: Of course the host can forward tasking via the datalink to the rest of the flight.. (that is what we do)
  3. Cheers lads.. version 2.0 will defiantly have moving targets.. in fact I have already developed some such tasks. There should be a better mix of static bombing & CAS in 2.0. The main aim is to expand the variety of tasks and the way you receive your tasking. Task will no longer get repeated in different scenarios as they do presently.(each task gets used twice).. each mission will have totally unique taskings. (16 in total). Also In 2.0 you won't simply be able to input a lat/long to find your task.. i'm gonna make some of the tasks rely on some search & destroy skills..
  4. Cheers mate.. Yes.. tactics.... 3 or 4 of us in multiplayer, engaging it .. forcing it to expend it's missiles. As mentioned.. this is primarily a MP mission... it may not be so well balanced in SP. Never managed to get close to the SA-10 S-300PS... not that you should be able to in an a-10 :) EDIT: I'm working on a Version 2.0 with new taskings and general tweaks. So if anyone has ideas, requests or more feedback i'd love to hear it.
  5. Cool glad you had a blast. That tower generally comes down pretty easily. But i have at times had to use 2 bombs, but normally one will do it. I've never failed to destroy it and get the confirmation that the tower was down. If you had looked at the editor it would not have helped much... as the area is littered with threats.. but you simply don't know which will / have spawned. Each time you run the mission the threat environment will most likely be different! Yeah it was designed as a MP mission.. its a lot of fun neutralising the threats as a pack...and then doing the tasks. Thanks for the feedback.
  6. No way in the ME.. but I use this..to make the conversions i need. http://www.rcn.montana.edu/resources/tools/coordinates.aspx
  7. if he puts smoke its always WP.. but Jtac do mark in other ways too. Depending upon the environment etc.
  8. Last time i ran one of my missions with a AFAC flight. The chopper (can't remember its name.. the AFAC one!) Afac/Jtac marked a convoy with WP.. i.e smoke and gave me the coordinates. It also told me to attack with guns, even though the convoy was guarded by a chaparral & vulcan. Seemed a little risky to me! EDIT: i can post the mission if that helps.
  9. just tried MP CAS Convoy REV 01.miz None of the 4 planes have any waypoints.. :music_whistling: The briefing say.. you must fly your waypoints...
  10. No awacs on the mission. The AFAC/ JTAC are not assigned to any particular targets, so it depends what they see and what spwans near them. Some times they give me targets, sometimes not. If you got a tasking from AFAC but they would not respond that would indicate your radios was set right so it may just be the WIP nature of the AFAC / JTAC in the beta. But i'm just guessing.
  11. I'm unable to login.. but i can get to the download links anyway. Download links.. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=135&lang=en Regarding login.. clear your cookies for the site and try again. This has resolved it for me in the past. Its also worth trying your login name with a 1 after it.. as this seems to have happened to a number of accounts since they preformed some account maintenance.
  12. Yeah i've noticed this. They are just on the map as some fluff and add some Jtac / Afac chatter. They are set to do an orbit, circular. But for some reason after 'some' time they end up several thousand feet underground. I assume this is some beta bug and have not really looked into it. What i do know is that they start off ok.. orbit for some time and then.. turn into subterranean submarines. ;) I had intended for them to fly higher, as they are set at approx. 7000' presently.. i'll do that when i tweak this mission as i plan to when i get time, (add some new taskings etc) and see if that helps. But i suspect this to be a bug.
  13. That's a shame, not sure what to say.. its working for many of us.
  14. For the 1st 2 weeks of having beta1 i actually somewhat dreaded starting it up.. it was very daunting. I started with air starts, used the gun for a bit, used the rockets for a bit, etc etc etc, just learnt it in small steps. i'm now pretty confident with all the system... it does take time, it does take a lot of reading, but once i broke the back of it i was loving it. I found the official training tutorials pretty useless for me personally.
  15. I had planned on a making a 'proper' training mission.. but here is a half cocked wip one.. it is by no means what i had planned but something to get started on.. good for all weapons type. Clear weather.. Ramp start. WP 2 has nothing but static soft targets & structures to attack at your leisure. Nothing will fire back WP 3 has armoured targets, T55, T72 & T80s WP 4 has a sam site.. radar, tunguska, stela and some fluff. The vehicles at WP 2 & 3 will repsawn when you kill a group. The sam site will remain dead. Single player or multiplayer up to 4 clients. T&T_Training.miz
  16. Thanks mate.. i'll post up the results if I edit them. :)
  17. Greb.. my small community has 7 to 8 Hog players... would you mind if i attacked your multiplayer missions in the editor in order to allow for more clients and generally adapt what you have to date?
  18. I didn't actually add a zero as such...I'll try and explain. -42°5.783E is 42 degrees, 5 minutes, point 783 seconds. But the degrees & minutes always have 2 digits when entered into the CDU. So it is 42 degrees, 05 minutes point 783 seconds. But when written out it is just 5 minutes not 05 minutes, but you need to enter 05 minutes in the CDU otherwise the CDU sees 57 minutes (in this case). So what you entered was 42 degrees, 57 minutes point 870 seconds. An error of 52 minutes... making it miles away from the target. I probably made that sounds a lot for complicated than i needed to. ;)
  19. No worries, good to hear you sorted it.
  20. As epoch said.. not seen this.. but i'll double check the coordinates. Thanks for the feedback. EDIT: There are two sub stations as targets.. their coordinates are: It looks like you may have messed up your interpretation of them... 44°13.983N. -42°5.783E should be entered as: 4413983N , 04205783E..It looks like you made two mistakes.. didn't add the Zero in the minutes bit and had 87 rather than 83 in the digital seconds, obviously the missing ZERO was critical... i hope this helps.
  21. Post up your full multimonitor lua file and maybe a screenshot of your in game options page.... that will help.
  22. Ed Hunter Should read The rest looks ok.
  23. Hmmm.. myself and several others in my community have hosted this mission.. and we have not had any issues. And trust me we have played it a lot. Not sure what to say. I personally think it must be client side rather than a mission issue. But please if you do find an issue please post it up.
  24. SilentEagle very cool mate, great work.
