Thanks, I had a look at the AI , they can fire all four guns so I guess its an input or cockpit interface/script problem not the 190 model. It might also not be working in 2.0 open alpha too, but can't confirm. -
It's not firing in my game, can anyone else confirm for me?

Good call, I was thinking the same thing. Inserting troops under fire then providing CAS would have been great for missions. As it is, Ka-50 is good, but I'm a little bored of popping tanks with Vihkrs every mission.... Playing Flaming cliffs just as much as black shark at moment cause variation in missions etc is better.

OpenGL??? For what is at the moment a purely 2D interface...? Waste of resources.... Maybe they wanted to add it, but the seperate nature of the Menu / Game exe's and the way starforce stops the 3D part of the game means we will never get this... We will probably never see a satellite mode for viewing the map either, so we'll never be able to place units exactly as we want them. Lock On mission editor is more advanced and user friendly. The triggers are not that sophisticated really (not like those in Armed Assault etc) but they do add something.

Yeah it appears to more complicated than I thought (though it definatley has something to do with players flight) as I have had this problem twice now, but other times when it should occur, it doesn't. I will upload a mission where it occurs for testing, if I still have it... You can just reload mission etc but when the bug is present it will occur whenever you click on player flight, it makes editing missions tricky..

Sorry I don't have any (at work), i'll try and upload a screenie tomorrow. Try em and see if you like them, I often look at sceenies (and download on the basis of them) but when I try them in game am often disappointed. They are just standard 3 tone blue colouring just better than stock.

Seems to be a bug when in the mission editor you reduce the player's flight from a group on 2 or more to just 1 Ka-50 and save it. When you do this, the mission editor buttons for adding new units etc lock up and no existing units on the map can be selected. This is fixed by either reloading the mission (but as soon as you click on players flight it happens again) or by increasing players flight. Switching players flight to AI control and back has no effect.

From what I've seen airborne units no longer have autonomous AI, you have to give everything a target no matter what. They don't seem to engage on their own. This probably extends to GAI missions also. I've made test missions where F-15s fly right past enemy Flankers, all are loaded with AA missiles but nothing happens unless you give them targets... Except ground vehicles / SAMs etc, they seem to engage tagets ok...

I have used an Su-33 template to make two new higher res Su-34 skins with better colours. Had to remove Su-33 wing hinges etc and tried to sort out panels and details on nose area. Looks ok now.. I like this program, random missions are good. You never know what is going to happen. Few points though... Mig-29 tarcap and cap missions - too long a range, mig-29A wingmen get low on fuel quickly and abandon me in mission - I know I can change loadouts to add more fuel though. Program will not run on some PCs, there is some requirement (I think Java), is it possible to state what Java VM or version is requirerd to run it. I can get it to run at only one PC at work and I make the missions then take them home and try them there, they are pretty good.

Looks great, its good cause Simmod seem to concentrate on western planes and terrain, its about time someone beefed up a few of the russian planes. And if they knock your efforts its only cause they are jealous or see you as competition. The Eagle dynamics model has a few floors which needed fixing like the nose, the curve of the cockpit, dorsal region, the nose landing gear which when compared to the real thing were wrong so I am very pleased you guys are making a new model for the game. Keep up the good work.

Another thing about the Vihkr... (not sure if it's been discussed before) But its a great Air-to-air missile in the hands of the AI. Hokums and Su-25T when flown by the AI have shot me down many times with the Vihkr. They are very accurate and can't really be spoofed, and I have only managed to evade one EVER though I'm usually ! in an A-10A when I get shot at by them. I have tested them in the Su-25T against enemy fighters and I can't even lock them up in the TV with or without laser ranging. Unfair... though I guess if you could use them Air-to-air in a multiplayer server, everyone would be bitching about it. But I wish I could stop the AI using them this way... is it possible? Perhaps a line in the missiletable.sht would fix it. -

I think all the download links were deleted. Mere mortals were not deemed worthy enough of sorting out the installation problems themselves. Too stupid probably.

Hey Super, could you possibly upload that frontscreen with the F-15s etc when you have finished it, it looks realy good, plus I like the quickfly images of all the planes too, much better than the originals. Or if you've uploaded it already somewhere, could you post a link...

I read somewhere that several planes use a different texture at long distance. Is it a smaller version of the textures we are adding - can't be cause they are the wrong colour.. is it a seperate texture all together.. maybe, or is it reverting to the smaller mipmaps of the original textures in the original cdds instead of using the smaller mipmaps we add - probably... In the CDDS file there is a small F-15C skin like the soesterberg one (tail letters CF). It is smaller than normal F-15 textures and has the tails on the same texture as the wings etc, I wondered whether the game was switching to this so I editied it and made it darker... It didn't work...it still switched to light colour at long range. Once solution I did find is this.. Open your graphics.cfg file in your config folder... Find the graphic option set you are using... low, medium or high etc (mine is custom) Find the LOD, this = 1 at low, 1.5 at medium and 1.5 at high.. If you increase this value for whatever setting you are using (say high) to 2.0 or 2.5, the distance at which the aircraft textures switch is significantly increased... However expect a slight performance hit.... This solution is OK but I'd prefer a better one, so hope someone can find one... Aurevoir for now...:smilewink:

Here is my little mod pack, it contains new R-27 textures, new main menu screen 2048x2048 + clock, some missions, new fainter wingtip vapour trails. I don't use modman /loman etc so its just a rar file with bits in the correct folders for extraction... Pick and choose what you want, the menu screen looks nice in my opinion and the doubled res reduces that squashed look, the R-27 texture is similar to the stock version, but I doubled the res for this and edited the metallic parts etc. The wingtip trails are something some guys requested in another forum... Also my Encyclopedia mod, just tidied up the descriptions a little and tried to standardise stuff. Nothing major. The missions are my own, (except the emergency landing one, just a stock mission edited slightly). Nice briefings but the maps do not show threats only your planes and awacs, you have to react to things as the mission unfolds. In particular I like the Rezky mission, the simple small Mig-29 missions and the F-15C intercepts, the A10A CAS mission isn't bad either... Tips, I find the Rezky mission and the Mig-29 v F-16C missions hard, in both cases you are outnumbered, however in both cases, careful maneuvering can get you a flanking position on the enemy flights. The F-15C vs Su-27 (2 v 4) mission is extremely hard since they nerfed the AMRAAM, suggest you wait for the Mirage support arriving from the north.. Hi, pretty new here... Used to play Lock On in the 1.02 days but left it cause of instability and graphics bugs on my old card (more the cards fault than the game) and enjoyed playing online on the s77th servers etc.. Recently I have baught Lock On gold flaming cliffs and have enjoyed all the mods you guys have put up. Plus, I have made a few of my own too, however I don't use ModMan or Loman I just add textures to temp textures or make a fresh cdds file etc. Unfortunatley I haven't got the internet at home at the moment so i'll upload some small mods for you at the weekend when I have to pop into work. Nothing special, a new 2048x2048 res main menu mod, an R-27R texture and maybe a few other things too. Also I have enjoyed the Groundpounders mod with better tree textures, but it was a problem in that the same trees are used in summer, autumn, spring and winter. I have found a way round this. Make a cdds for the summer trees then add a line in the graphics config file common=//bazar etc pointing to your new tree cdds file. As long as you have the winter and autumn textures above it, it means you get the high res trees in summer while in autumn and winter you get gold and white respectively. I even tried hue changes on the green trees to make them look autumnal and it is easy to do, and then you can add them too so you get different trees for each season.
