Welcome man

Just decrease your speed Edit: AoA indexer is just trying to get you flying at a certain AoA which should be 8.something iirc. So as you can see on your hud, right next to the alpha symbol your current AoA is 4.1 Edit2: Just checked it, it needs to be between 7.4 and 8.8.

How can I manually change the resolution?

I'm not sure if this will work or not but did you try deleting the options.lua file? It should be inside users>(your username)>saved games>dcs>config -
MK-20 vs CBU-99 and Tank Busting

Wow, what a cruel man you are. if your 4-5 year old son or daughter loses half of his/her tiny body by a bomb thats been dropped 50 years ago in a war that child couldnt possibly know anything about, I beg you please engrave that quote on their grave stone to remind people of your impeccable logic. -
Just to clarify, a jtac is the fella who has the authority for terminal attack control. If we quote the JFIRE doc: "A JTAC is a qualified (certified) Service or coalition member who, from a forward position, directs the action of combat aircraft engaged in CAS and other offensive air operations. A qualified and current JTAC is recognized across the Department of Defense as capable and authorized to perform terminal attack control. Terminal attack control is the authority to control the maneuver of and grant weapons release authority to attacking aircraft." Guided munitions are not needed for a jtac to do its job. Their job is to help the CAS player find the target, tell them how to maneuver during their engagement, which weapons to use and how to use them. Laser designators, smoke markers, data-link connections etc. are just tools they use to make the job easier.

Well, i wouldnt mind working for it, i mean i want to contribute and what you describe is better in every way then i can do on my own. To be honest what i had in mind was to keep translating manuals one at a time as long as i can. Yes it would take a seriously long time but its better than nothing. Thanks for the answer man, ill contact Groove and see what they have to say about this.

I will pm Chizh then. I've already translated to the end of the autopilot modes. The thing is, as much as they are usefull, IMO a quick-start guide does not help a beginner. It kinda makes them lazy, instead of learning the systems, they just memorize couple of buttons. For example, if you just show the su25t's autopilot modes in dcs to a beginner, he just uses 1-2 of them and half the time it doesnt work cos he/she has no idea of the limitations for engaging those modes. And he/she cannot learn more about it cos there is no proper manual which he/she can read. Im aware it will take some time to translate them, even a short one like the su25t's manual, but im willing to spend that time.

First of all, im not sure if this is the right place to post this. If its not, please just move it to the right section of the forum. I have a lot of people around me who wants to get into dcs but cannot do so because of the language barrier. I almost always help them with the basics and getting started but it gets really frustrating to help people over and over again, explaining same things. I'm sure ive spent at least 5-6 hours each with at least 10 people. They usually start to get bored after a while like i do, cos i mean, who wants to listen to some dude talk over the microphone for hours and even after couple of hours they realize, there is a LOT of ground to cover. This situation led me to believe that instead of explaining everything over voice chat, i should just write down what i explain and give it to the people who wants to learn. Then i realized we already have the manual's for that and they do a better job then i can, they just need to be translated. So i started to translate su25t's manual. After a while, i thought to myself, these manual's are not my intellectual property so i dont actually have the right to edit and distribute them. And i really dont want them to get removed after i invest lots of hours in to it. So here is my question, Can i just translate and distribute these manuals? Do i need any permission to do so? If i need permission, how can i get it?

I use the gray slider on my warthog throttle for zooming the view. Couple of weeks back the in game view started to vibrate. Whenever i use the slider to zoom in or zoom out, it behaves like i keep moving the slider just a bit forward and back. So it keeps zooming in and out constantly. In the axis commands menu, i checked out the axis tune page. The signal looks like its getting effected by electronic noise. Constantly jumping up and down. Deviations during those jumps are really small but it annoys me really hard in game. Im almost certain that it started to happen cos of accumulation of dust on the electronic component that governs the slider. So i dismantled the throttle, but the electronic component for the slider is quite small and i dont see anyway of taking it apart for cleaning. Does anyone have any advices for me on how to clean this little guy?

Dont bother with the easy comms. You are already dialing in the proper frequency for the tower. Disable easy comms and just use the right radio to communicate.

River Raider mission - How would you do it
kylekatarn720 replied to filthymanc's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I've never flied that one before but just took a look at it. You got AAA's, IR guided sam's, radar guided sam's in there. 6 main targets which are bunkers. Now im not actually sure what weapon you need to destroy those bunkers, you should take the lightest weapon that can take out those effectively. By effectively i mean that the weapon should damage the target easily and it shouldnt put you in harms way while employing it. So if guns can kill the target easily but there are air defences around the target, dont use the guns, just go high and drop a gbu12/38 on it. There is a long range radar sam over watching bunker 1 and 2. Its pretty easy to take out that one with guns using pop-up manoeuvre. I recorded a video doing just that ill upload it tomorrow and post it here. If there are any other radar guided sams with AAA's or IR sam's covering them, that will be a bit tricky. You can try to use force correlate with agm65h's to engage them from range or you can fly high, at edge of its engagement zone and force it to waste all of its missiles or you can do the smart thing and get a sead flight to take them out. Stay away from AAA's at all times, especially the non-radar guided ones. Radar guided ones are easier to spot from range cos you can see them on your rwr but the other ones are pretty deadly. You can never be sure if you took them all out or not. IR guided sam's are much easier to deal with. Fly at the edge of their maximum engagement zone and keep watching your surroundings. As soon as they fire, take a mental note of their general location, dodge the incoming missile, disengage and take them out on your second pass. Then again, if you can stay out of their range and engage your target safely, dont bother with them. -
Take your time when you are practicing. If it seems like you cant make it in time and fly over target while doing all of that, just increase the distance to target and try again. At the beginning, learning how to do it right is the main issue rather than doing it quickly. So just take your time and learn the process. And like Yurgon said, its really important to understand how it all works, otherwise you are just memorizing which buttons to press in what order. Spend some time with the flight manual, it will help a lot.

It's the rotary knob on the bottom left corner of the auxiliary avionics panel. You can find more information about it in the a-10c flight manual under the section called "Auxiliary Avionics Panel (AAP)". Flight manual is located inside (installation directory > Mods > aircraft > A-10C > Doc).

1) Slew TGP to target and use "TMS Right Short" to create a mark point over it. 2) Keep doing the same until you mark all of your stationary targets. 3) Switch your STEER PT dial to MARK so you can cycle through them. 4) Press "HOTAS Coolie Switch UP Short" to set HUD as SOI. Select the desired markpoint with "DMS UP/DOWN Short". 5) Set MAV as SOI by pressing "HOTAS Coolie Switch LEFT/RIGHT Long" depending on the MFCD you are using for MAV. 6) Press "CHINA HAT FORWARD Long" to slave all sensors to SPI. 7) Press "TMS UP Short" to force the MAV seeker to try and lock to what its looking at.

Providing a track or recording would be a huge help here.
-
Yeah, i thought of those "axis" as positional components (like x,y,z in R^3 space) but instead they are the variable components that are used by the calculation formula to determine the change in position.
-
Oh, so the "axis" are not the coordinates of the aircraft but rather the variables in the calculation formula. Got it, thanks
-
What does this mean? How does a navigational instrument can give positional information with more than 3-axis? Does the "3-axis" mean something else in this context than the x,y,z in space?

Make sure your OSB 20 (moving map display mode) on the TAD page is *not* set to OFF.
